      It's little funny how you say Félagi but how you say it is his name ... not quite correct Icelandic but who cares 😜

    It was a pleasure to see "my horse" Lutja doing so well. Of all the foals we bred at our place, she was my favorite. It was a joy to see her!

    I am so sorry that you're no longer on
    " Mountain Men". I have seen the episodes that you are on, several times. Just last week I agonized with you once again as you were on your last day of rations, headed up to shoot a Dahl sheep. I'm so grateful you got one!

    I’m looking at starting a Homestead in Alaska in a couple years trying to figure out dogs versus horses how many bags of feed does A horse eat through the winter have you use them for packing in the deep snow loved your mountain man show it was my favorite

    • @morganbeasley
      @morganbeasley  2 года назад

      Really depends what resources and ground you end up on, how far you have to go for feed. They will pack snow in winter, to a point.

    Just curious if the change of habitat of the Icelandic horse is changing the breed in any way? Also how do you protect them from predators since they don't have any in Iceland?

    • @morganbeasley
      @morganbeasley  Год назад

      Interesting question, The foals that have been born here seem to have thicker coats than their parents. If you read about the Yakutian Horse, it took very few generations for a bunch of extreme cold weather genetics to express themselves.

    As a horse owner myself, I wondered what breed of pony they are.

    • @morganbeasley
      @morganbeasley  3 года назад +1

      They aren't ponies. Icelandic horse people get really serious about that point. pound for pound they are probably the strongest and fastest horse breed on the planet.
