Have a blessed and happy Christmas with your family. I love your channel! My biggest problem with books/bibles that I get excited when I hear about books, I’m talking Catholic, and I have overdone it and have to make a list of future books and not buy anymore until I read what I have! This habit has also moved in my bible purchases. I love all of them and go back and forth to use them all. I don’t regret purchasing them, but I have to put a pause on it. My latest bible purchase I was so excited to get was the Ignatius Study Bible for the Old and New Testament. That’s a project in itself, but I’m so blessed to have it. Kathy
As fellow book lovers, we know just what you mean! We re also very excited when we hear about new books. It's good from time to time to pause, as you mentioned. However, there are worse things to love, lol….
Such a wonderful, interesting list you shared! As for myself, what worked: 1. Obviously your RUclips channel--it is my favorite Catholic channel! 2. First Fridays Quiet Adoration/Confession/followed by Adoration with quiet hymns sung by beautiful voice of canter. It was in a dimly lit small church and at the end of the hour I felt so at peace. 3. Prayer Service for Life of the Unborn 4. Special gifts and blessings from the Lord. What didn't work: I dropped out of the two weekly book groups I was attending at my parish - I realized I was spending time reading books selected by someone else, leaving no time to read the books I wanted to read. Getting back to reading the books on my list is bringing me great joy!
We love your lists, Loretta! And we hear you about reading books that other people pick. Sometimes that is great, and sometimes it can feel very limiting. We are changing up some things in the New Year just for that reason :)
Your videos are always a hit with me. Thank you for the reminder of the St. Faustina Diary podcast; for some reason I had forgotten about it after starting to listen when you first talked about it. I also must have missed your video with the chicken and dumplings, I need to figure out which one it is and watch. God bless to you both, Linda
If you start back up with the podcast, let us know what you think! The chicken and dumplings was in our Catholic cooking video from this February :) God bless
@@catholicmomanddaughter I will definitely let you know. Thanks for the heads up on the chicken and dumplings video. God bless you and Merry Christmas. Linda
A highlight of this year has been watching your videos. ❤ You always make me smile! I am so happy to be nearing the end of the St. Faustina’s Diary in a Year podcast. I’ve wanted to read her diary for many years and Fr. Joe’s podcast was the perfect way to do it. Jennifer, I think that was one of your goals too? And now Ascension has come up with Rosary in a Year so I guess that’s next!
Yes- I also loved Diary in a Year with Fr. Joe :) He's such a wonderful reader, and he explained everything so well. HIs podcast for Imitation of Christ is also great. Hopefully he will keep making more podcasts. In the meantime, on to Rosary in a Year :)
Thank you for your inspiring chanel. My prayer time is better since this year. It was a goal for many years. 😊 I began studying the Bible at my own pace with easy books and it is a peacefull time in the day. I went to see our Lady of Guadalupe twice at México City. Saint Therese's book , the story of a soul, isn't finished but I should try an audio book as you did Jenifer 😊. So thank you so much, merry Christmas!
We are so glad to hear this! And how wonderful that you went to visit Our Lady twice… that one is still on our bucket list. We hope to get there someday!
As one of your other viewers said, I too discovered your channel this year and that was a high for me. One of my discoveries this year that was not a success, is that deer will eat almost anything that I plant. Not really a catholic thing - although they ate all of my rose buds on the rose bushes that I dedicate to Saint Therese! Merry Christmas!
Two things that worked well for me this year came from recommendations from you two - I loved The Christmas Book by Francis X. Weiser and used excerpts from it in my Christmas letter this year. And I purchased a rosary from Rugged Rosaries for my dad for Christmas; he opened it early and loves it! Thank you for those suggestions!
Thanks for sharing these. It helps to look back & see where we can improve & try different methods. What worked for me was retiring after working over 33 yrs at the same job. What hasn't worked yet is moving to the big city, and some of the relationships w/ siblings. :_( I'm so very grateful you were here for us all year ! Quyana!!!
Congratulations on your retirement, Lena! Jesus must be waiting for the perfect house in the city to become available for you, so hang in there! Family always seems to be a work in progress with ups and downs (at least here, anyway), so we hear you on that. We can pray for each other :)
Health goals! I write them down every year and compare to the year before.. somehow, the list stays the same and as I get older, and the list gets longer.. 😬. At least I’m acknowledging my weaknesses and where there needs to be room for improvement.. right? That counts! ☺️✨📿
We hope so, too, Joyce! Yes, the hoodie was a blessing on the plane trip- that and sitting next to Fr. John on the way over :) He kept us laughing. Have a Merry Christmas!
I love the sticker books! I bought one after watching your video. The pictures are so beautiful, but now I don’t know what to do with the completed book. Do you have any suggestions. ❤
Yay! Another sticker book fan :) We have displayed the finished pictures on our bulletin board. Also- some of the pictures we really like are bound for our art journals (we each have a blank journal we use for different art projects). We have also read about people making cards from the finished pictures, which is another fun idea. Hope that helps!
Hmmm . . . what worked this year? Simplifying. I've been regularly going through my stuff and getting rid of things I don't use. Every time I do this, I manage to peel off another layer of "things I couldn't possibly do without" and discovering that in a lot of cases, I can do without. For example, kitchen items like half a dozen different spatulas--I can actually do with just one. When I buy a book, if it's not something I'll read again, I donate it to the church library or to the thrift store or to a friend who might be interested in reading it. It is certainly keeping down the clutter and leading to my ultimate goal--owning nothing when I die!
Margaret! You are not going to die for a very long time (we certainly hope), so maybe keep an extra spatula :) You are inspiring, as always. It's a journey, right?
Lol- we had a long discussion about that and decided the latte was worse because it was supposed to be very good and was abysmally NOT. The relish mold, on the other hand, turned out as expected… not something we were prepared to love but probably tasting just as a relish mold from the 1960's should.
Hello- yes! We added the Parochial Vicar's brother, Br. Dismas, back in August. He is a sweet cat and much more mellow than the PV. So far he's been pretty camera shy, but he's really coming out of his shell lately, so watch for more of him in 2025 :)
What were your highs and lows for 2024? We always love hearing from you!

What worked weill for me was listening to Father Chris Alar's talks. He's such a great priest- zealous and faithful.
The Marian Fathers have so many great priests!

I can’t believe your gelatin concoction wasn’t as bad as your latte!!! That was a surprise.
