Hi I just had my watch repaired because the seconds hand was detached. So when the watch guy attached the seconds hand, I saw him pushing the seconds hand backwards. I was thinking he was just aligning the seconds hand after a while it stops running. I changed that the battery but after a few minutes it stopped. Do you think the gear was damaged by the watch repair guy?
Hello Sherwin. Don't know what's going on without looking at it, depends on what is needed. If interested, visit www.TimesTicking.com and send the watch in for repair. The estimate is free and the return shipping is free too. We'll email notify you when the watch arrives and call you with the estimate. Thanks.
I have an automatic watch. I wind it 40 times but it lasts for a very short time. I have to shake it for the seconds hand to move. When I rotate the crown it feels like it's doing nothing. When I pull my crown and push it back in it starts going again until it stops
@kamauskitske9821 You need to have the movement tested. Visit a local watchmaker or visit us online www.timesticking.com The movement may need to be replaced. Take care.
It's not watches I kill. It's electronic lighters. Average lifespan of one in my possession, even expensive ones is 3 to 6 months. I use a Zippo now. Anyway, I came on here because I found my late mother's watch. It's an Everite she bought probably in the late 60s/early 70s. It hasn't worked for about 25 years. I gave it a shake and it started ticking. Kept going for about 4 hours then stopped. It's been working off and on all day (with a little shake now and again to help it) so I'm thinking of putting it into the repair shop along with her other, even older one which was gifted to her during WWII, the idea being if I can get small enough bracelets to fit them (I have noodles for arms) I would wear them. I prefer "real" watches - the ticking kind to quartz watches.
Hey, i just got my new watch and its an analog quartz watch but the problem is it is not working at all. It is not ticking. And the problem is i just recieved it. So what can i do to solve this problem do you have any idea?
I bought a fossil automwric watch 3 years ago. And just a few months ago. Whenever i put it on my wrist it stops but when i try to rotate and jsut let it sit on the table it doesn't stop.

I bought a new watch. I'm waiting to get it. The old one stopped working last month. So I replaced the battery. It worked fine for almost a month. Yesterday, I noticed it was an hour behind. I don't wear it much. I adjusted it twice. I found it DOA later. I tested the battery. 1.59 volts. The stopwatch dials still worked. Just the main watch movement stopped. I do not understand. I don't have it around moisture. I screwed the back on tight after I replaced the battery. I've changed batteries on other analog quartz watches, and they kept working. Maybe a few times, a new battery didn't bring a dead watch back to life. But this one did. For about a month. It's a Benyar watch I had for 19 months.
Help me pls, I haven't used my watch for 3months, and those 3 months, my watch was only inside my school bag. When I decided to use it again, I just saw it stopped working. Pls help me THANKSSS

My quartz analog watch keeps stopping before it changes the date. I put several new batteries and it keeps stopping before midnight. I have to manually change the date and the watch works fine all the way before midnight, then it stops. So frustrating. What's the problem? .

I just sync the time of my new automatic watch. I pulled the crown and turned it clockwise to correct time then the ticking stopped. I tried to swing it back and fort for like 1 mins as the manual says but still it didn't work. Didn't even reach 1 day. I thought that its just normal that the ticking might stop because of inefficient kinetic energy but it seems that it'l not workj anymore. I need your help plsss

Since there are so many small parts inside a watch like this, it is extremely difficult to fix without the right tools and training. You will probably need a watchmaker to take a look at it.
@Aeros You need to test the battery to determine if there is an issue with your battery or the movement. That will determine what to do next. Thanks for watching!

I need to know why, after many months of working perfectly, my watch is suddenly slow. When this happens I reset the time - and then the watch will run for many more months, keeping perfect time. This is a 30-yr-old Seiko quartz analog watch. There is no visible damage and it has not got wet or been dropped.
It may be that the change in temperature after it is taken off your wrist causes your watch to malfunction. It may also be that your battery is not correctly set in the watch and needs the pressure of you wearing it to make the connection. It's hard to diagnose without looking in the watch. You will probably need a new battery or movement in your watch.
I thought mine stopped working but then I pulled the thing you use to adjust the time and it now I can adjust it again. Now it's permanently only wrong date tho... I recommend buying a digital watch. It doesn't tick and is easier
The "thing" is named the crown and in most watches if you pull the crown out you should feel 2 clicks. 1st one is to adjust the date(forward/backwards winding). 2nd click as you saw for adjusting time .
I just bought my watch and its from a known brand, it stops working after 2hours and I can make it run again, but then it stops again. And I can't just retun again because its from france, I'm from the UK.
@ Mae Thanks for watching! Our suggestion is you find a local watch repair to take a look at your watch. If that's not possible send your watch to us and we'll be happy to help. Visit www.TimesTicking.com to get started
Automatic watches take a lot of maintenance and are more susceptible to breakage than quartz watches. Some possible reasons might be that water has found its way into the movement, your watch had been exposed to magnetism, your watch might not have enough power reserve stored, or your movement is defective. It's hard to diagnose without looking in the watch.
