inb4 Desert Strike becomes a mainstream esport and SC2 stays niche for RTS players like us.
*looks at dota and Lol*
*looks at golden era RTS*
*sits on bed and tries not to cry*
*cries a lot*
blizzard basically killed the genre that made them famous, TWICE!
they're looking for a third time XD
that'd imply that desert strike has ever been anything more than a casual silly unbalanced mode ever since 2005 in sc1.. lol
It's just dessert strike. We did this arcade since BW.
Line TDs were around for ages. Not original, sure.
Dessert Strike very tasty indeed
You're not cool because you played desert strike lol
yes he is, he played BW so he is cool @@DoggyP00
@@theSato Dude, mb, I'm so sorry.
Aren't Tya's games like 1/3rd of all arcade games played?
Well well well, looks like Blizzard is testing the waters with their deeply loyal fanbase. *grabs popcorn for comment section*
To be fair they do have a large butt boi damage control army,, but that won't last long. Their fanboy police will fall apart when reality catches up to them.
They're all talk no bite.
For how much work Tya puts into this game, he definitely deserved this opportunity.
omegalul.
TWO premium game in 5 years .... really
Ayy a Tya game!
Is it same thing as Desert Strike Coop?
Yes
...does the mod creator at least get the profits? Is that how this system works?
And is 'Premium' Arcade an arcade for players who aren't FTP or is it like an additional one-time-buy cost? Is it per mod...?
I get how working on a mod for months can be brutal hard work that doesn't pay the bills but I don't think Blizzard should get any (or at least a rather small percentage) of the money if a mod creator created it.
Paying content creators = good
Getting money off of anothers work...? Not so good.
Only the Host needs the premium content.
Any of yall criticizing bonus features made by a third party for something you really don't have to worry about buying makes you look rather dumb.
Now to the actually non-demented people out there
this seems like a nice touch to the game.
Ayo, Where is my chacracter?
The only issue of two different vissons DS, why did pick these one?
PAID MODS OMEGALUL
Ikr? How low are they going to sink for that cash
Isn't that just Desert Strike?
Like New Game plus plus version of the Desert Strike?
To be clear, this paid mod only adds game modes and aesthetics... Read the article before whining
That's not true read up on the changes a little more
I read up more, what am i missing, it's not a pay to win mod btw
Ridiculous. But what can you expect from ACTIVISION BLIZZARD TRADEMARK.
by giving them a SHARE of the money they charge us, yes. Imagine that every time you made a donation to Tya blizzard took a 50% cut...
Do i have to pay for it?
4.99$
boo
how do i play as commanders like nova ?
desert strike co-op beta
So it's desert strike as a paid mod?
Nice
is this real? wow
Premium in AAA game.
gl with ur game, small indie company called blizzard
XD
is this like desert strike?
TTS Gaming Sort of, its a little more fast paced and you have to be active the whole time.
Its an expanded version of it made by the same person who made direct strike lite.
Should have spent more time on the trailer, I can't parse anything special about this custom map from a regular costum like I could with ARK Star's.
Dramatic music really helps... but this is still garbage.
What a f*ck is this?
While i appreciate supporting moders this comes off bit wth? This doesn't really have anymore quality from what i seen in non Premium maps. Tya is by far one of the best map makers and i do want to see support for him but 4.99 for something that many may not play is a major turnoff to me.
Overpriced dlcs and now this? cya Blizz, good luck finding new ways to milk your fanbase.
actually it is a way to support and allow people to make money from their arcade...
Its 5$ and if you have seen the complexity of the galaxy editor you might understand why people would like to get something out of it. This map wasn't made by blizzard but a 3rd party developer named Tya.
Then don't buy it. I won't be -- but I recognize that there's nothing remotely unethical about charging money for this.
If you didn't have to pay for it, would it still be considered "premium"?
So... then what makes it premium?
Exactly.
GTFO.
The word "premium" literally has to do with paying a higher price. Check a dictionary. It's been used to mean "higher quality" as well but that was originally only an extension of the fact that it was a higher price (used in combination with "you get what you pay for").
