I must admit this is slightly different to when he was younger but, on saying that his new album This house is not for sale! is totally awesome, and if I went to a bon Jovi concert I would want to hear this old stuff as well. And I listen to his other songs in this same concert and they are awesome.

If John isn't constantly challenging himself, he gets bored. I think it's fine that he's preparing for his next conquest, politics. However, if he isn't going to give 100% to his music, then for the sake of the band's legacy, he needs to retire. I have been a fan of 'Bon Jovi' since It's inception in '83; and their music has been an intregral part of my life. It's sad to think of the band's impending demise; but all good things must come to an end. Seeing as he has basically been an absentee from his family's life, he's lucky he still has one. Hopefully, this new endeavor will allow him more quality time with his family.

I don't quite buy the "he's in his 50s argument". I respect Bon Jovi, and I know that we all age and lose abilities...but other rock/metal guys like Steven Tyler, Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford are the same age (or older) and they still sound incredible live (all of them can still hit their upper register). Hell, Bruce Dickinson just came off chemo treatment for cancer and his voice still sounds the same as it did in 1987. Rob Halford can still sing painkiller! Tyler can still nail Dream On. That's where my disappointment with Bon Jovi comes in...
