    UPDATE:
    JBJ publicly acknowledges vocal issues and recent "extensive vocal cord reconstruction" surgery. We now have the reason why Jon's voice declined over the past decade. Vocal Cord Atrophy

      This hurts my heart. Jon and his band got me through one of the darkest periods of my life 20+ years ago. And now they.seem to be fizzleing out rather than going out with the absolute bang they'd deserve as their final tour. Whenever that will be. I hope for a miracle, that somehow he'll get enough of his voice and energy back to be able to do one last tour and love every minute of it, to feel great about it. He and the band deserve nothing less after four decades of giving so much to the world and millions of fans.

    Phil is doing the best he can. His talkbox is no where near the goat, but I respect him for trying to help carry the band. A lot of talk about Jon's singing, some so disrespectful I doubt they were ever true fans. He overexterted his voice in ways that cause damage for decades. A vocal therapist and coach will emphasize slowing it down and enunciating differently to get it out without more damage. None of us know every detail nor have been in his shoes. Plus he's a true man now, he physically has a lower voice. I'm enjoying this video, so thanks for posting. Those who aren't can let others enjoy and scroll on by.

    It's actually much better than most of other videos from this tour. Many people argue that he actually uses lipsync in this song. It's absolutely 100% certain that it's lipsync in two places (e.g. the high note before the solo was lipsync already in 2019 tour), but some people suggest that this time it may be more than just two phrases.

    • @jamesshaw7171
      @jamesshaw7171 2 года назад

      The high note is actually not. It’s really weird because the rest of the performance isn’t the best. But you can definitely hear it’s live. Not sure about the rest but it’s definitely live as it’s actually not that high (lower than 19). Also he doesn’t sing the second line in the chorus to be able to hit the note

    •  Год назад +1

      @@jamesshaw7171 high note is definetly prerecorded. Align two or more performance's audio and it sounds the same everytime. Plus you can ever hear the sound change between his live and prerecorded vocal on audience recordings. He's been using it for years and pitching it down as they change the key over the years. This particular video has reprocessed vocals. It's a shame he didn't take care of his voice through the years. I don't mind about the prerecorded high note, but he was not fit for this tour, should've never happened.

I know it's been rumored he had a terrible bout with Covid but the way he's straining to sing things he used to so effortlessly, the way he almost looks so out of breath after hitting a note, his eyes looking like he's not even there sometimes. Age-related voice changes vary widely, and people can begin to “sound old” in their 50s, while others retain a resonant voice well into their 80s. The normal aging process can affect the larynx and vocal cords in several ways: Atrophy (shrinkage) of muscle. Thinning of mucous membranes

    Sounds like they lowered the key to this song an octave or so in order for Jon not to strain his voice. God bless him for his dedicated years of pouring out his soul into his music.

    If you dont like him, then don't listen. There are over 100 million fans watching him. He is as close to perfect as can be. He sings in a different key. He had vocal surgery and did not well. He relearned singing. I loved them then, Now and Forever. BONJOVI GIRL FOR LIFE!!!

    Vocal chords change too. I heard an interview with him and he admitted that he just can't get to those notes in Livin' On A Prayer and he wished he'd never done that chord change. Most of these singers have untrained voiced and they took a beating all those years. Vocal chords are a muscle and they can get tired and they can get strained and they can get damaged.

      They also need to be maintained with exercise and this is what happens if you don't. Thing is they can also recover substantially if you put the effort in.

      Nothing to do with age my friend. This is much deeper than that. Wake up. There is loads of singers older than Jon still sounding great. Bryan Adams for example- older than Jon and still singing all his songs in original key. Jon Bon Jovi has a serious vocal issue that's not down to age. It is down to lifestyle. He has admitted he never used to warm up and went on stage cold to belt out songs. Just a sad case of not looking after his voice.
