You were correct in adding pressure with shining. In simplified gamestates you have to put him on a clock. Even if you protected shining he would have still made both shinings miss timing cause of the pot top deck.

Utopia can’t be used to stop mirror force or prison. Utopia’s effect can only be used directly in response to a deceleration of attack.
