    Amazing. That came so much to life. I'm just starting, but I'm guessing this doesn't happen so easily with acrylics.

    Love this!!! What kind of brush would you suggest for creating the highlights of the hair? Currently struggling with how to make the hair in my portraits more realistic:\

    • @IsabelleRichardArt
      @IsabelleRichardArt  5 лет назад

      I suggest a small angled flat brush. Thank you for your comment Lilith!

    My fav of yours Isabelle you are the WILLIAM bouguereau of RUclips. I hope you take that as the compliment it is... he is now recognized as the foremost figurative painter surpassing Sargent if you can believe it. Who taught you achedemic technique Isabelle? It’s rare now that Richard has everyone panting for “all in premier”....i.e one go. Love it...keep those brushes wet!

      Thank you so much for your beautiful comment Randy. I am a self-taught artist. After studying computer graphics, I had a career as a Flexography Pre-Press Coordinator in the packaging industry for 15 years. The observation techniques and colour management methods used during these years have resulted in excellent colour control. In September 2014, a happy combination of circumstances allowed me to redirect my career towards Fine Arts. I've read a lot of books, listened to a lot of videos. I try to paint every day... So, yes, I'm gonna keep those brushes wet 😉.

    Isabelle, I am so pleased to have discovered your page. You are a very inspirational artist and I am such an admirer of your skill.
    Could you please tell me, if you are using standard oil paint with no additives and just an oil as a medium, how long does it take for your paintings to dry?
    And do you use photos for your reference?
    Thanking you in anticipation.

    • @IsabelleRichardArt
      @IsabelleRichardArt  7 лет назад

      I am using Winton oil colour by Windsor & Newton. I am using linen oil as a medium. The drying time depends of the color used, the amount of medium added to the colour, the thickness of paint applied, the room temperature and humidity... It is hard to say. Between 1 to 5 days. I am buying extended license of royalty free professional pictures. I hope it helps... Thank you for your comment Ellen!

    I would like to know what kind of oil color you use and if you use any medium what you prefer?

      Thank you for your comment Lis. I am using Winton oil color by Windsor & Newton. I add a little linen oil as medium.

    Very beautiful, Isabelle. You are very inspirational and I've shared one of your videos on Facebook. May I ask, do you let the block-in stage dry, then paint wet-n-wet? Or are most of your paintings alla prima? They are gorgeous. I wish you much success.

    • @IsabelleRichardArt
      @IsabelleRichardArt  7 лет назад +1

      Yes Lynne, there is drying periods in my process. Thanks for watching!

      Isabelle Richard Art thank you so much, Isabelle. Your method reminds me of the French Academic method which I am teaching myself. The method is wet and wet on top of a frottis without much glazing.

    What colours do you use? (umber, naples yellow brown etc for flesh tone? plzzz :)

    • @IsabelleRichardArt
      @IsabelleRichardArt  7 лет назад

      Colours used are very different from one painting to the other. Unfortunately, there is no standard mix for flesh tones. Maybe this is the key...
