1995 was hard to beat but the RWC2019 final was great. The refereeing by Garces was also good (I was really dreading that), apart from Maru Itoje 'steal' from Etsebeth, which should have been an England penalty on 7 minutes. A penalty kick to touch, on 17 minutes, by Pollard into the England 25, which was adjudged to have been fended back inside by Johnny May (with his foot on the line), and the 2 penalties in a row, on 33 minutes, which were actually 3 penalties (therefor yellow card against SA after 27 phases of English attack and outstanding SA defence.). Covid has given us a rough 2 years so there have been plenty of opportunities for pick-me-ups. I have raised my mood 38 times since the end of RWC '19, and I am sure I will find more opportunities to watch that game. It gets my pulse going every time!!! Anyone out there as fanatical as me about Bok rugby?? My kids think I am bonkers (no denying that!). I guess English fans have the same feeling about the AB semi final, which I have watched 5 times.
Anyone else getting sick of negative comments when a close game goes to an opposition team? It's always the referees fault. Always 16 players vs 15 players. As a South African, it saddens me that so few Saffers will accept defeat from a more dominant side. There is absolutely NO Shame in losing to the All Blacks. I am stoked we won as many world cup titles, with fewer tournaments entered. I am stoked we pulled off a BI Lions tour win, and stoked we beat the ABS this past weekend. But seriously.... the negative comments when we lose is just ridiculous now!
I can accept defeat, I can accept a few bad calls. but ever since Bryce Lawrence incident, I hold refs more accountable to deciding who wins a close game... you can be the better team but if 50/50 calls dont go your way then you have to start asking questions. imagine coaching a team and losing your shot at winning the World Cup because of a ref....
Let me say this as a member of the biltong and boerewors Springbok mafia: yes, we have had awful reffing decisions go against us. Way before Bryce Lawrence too - anyone remember Stuart Dickinson? Anyone remember Paul Honiss telling John Smith to talk to his men against Ireland in 2004 and then allowed Ronan O'Gara to run through for an unopposed try? Yes, we have been screwed over many many times. This though, was not such a time. We lost to Japan in this tournament, for crying out loud. Both in terms of form and on the day, NZ was a lot stronger than us. The fact that we kept it within one kick of winning it, says a lot about our tenacity and grit.
Hi Werie. You might think this but, there are some interesting stats for you. We all always think and say that old cliche, "whoever beats NZ will win the RWC" but history does NOT support this. There have been nine RWC tournaments and NZ won three, that means they were knocked out in six. Of these six, only once has a team beat them in a knockout match and won the next game - this was Australia back in 1991. Only twice has a side faced them in the knock outs and won the tournament (Wallabies 1991 and Boks in 1995, which was the final with no next game). Only three times has any team ever faced NZ in a tournament and went on to win the title (Wallabies 1991, Boks in 1995 and 2019). England beat them in 2019, lost the next round. France beat them in 2007 and lost the next round. Australia beat them in 2003 and lost the next round. France beat them in 1999 and lost the next round. There is definitely a pattern here and I think it's because A) teams prepare really hard to face NZ so that when they face the next team, they are underprepared and B) beating NZ takes such a gargantuan effort that your tank is empty afterwards.
@@jaymeister4850 I am aware of these stats and truly admire your love for the game.... It is just that in my opinion these 2 teams were undoubtably the world cup winners in that year. 2023
Im here after the 2023 Final South Africa vs New Zealand
I hope the SPRINGBOKS WILL WIN THE 2023 WORLD CUP
VIER VAN VIER PAPPA DIE BESTE NOG OOIT SPRINGBOKKE
Love from Pakistan
Solid game man had no hair or nails by the time this finshed
I was there.😀
The fact that that forward pass can't be seen by ref's and line's man just baffles me.. @3:40
100%
Flat pass imo
The rule is out the back of the hand, if the ball travels forward it is legal as long as the pass is out the back of the hand.
i think SB player touched the ball, isn't it ?
Flat pass, came forward by momentum. 50-50 imo
Yissis looking at the NZ side is scary. NZ got a long way to go before they get another side like this.
So many great players
Whitlock’s lineout steal was the turning point in this game, imo.
Que partidazo, se dieron con todo. Tremendo!
before carter going for the drop kick there was a clear knocked on from AB lineout
Subscribed 🇿🇦
Now work on fixing the rules.
Similar to cricket world semifinal that same year at Eden Park
😌south africa was the better prepared team in both but lost both
Final rugby World cup 2015 opposite NZ to Australia.... Thanks for tour knowlegde
The all blacks just had a greater will to beat the springboks.
This was the final
Great game
RUclips letting us know in no uncertain terms what they think the final this year will be lol
4:35 commentator says new Zealand lead by 7 to nil (0) when scores clearly show 7-3 ??
Awesome 👍 rugby game
This was world cup game. I'm Scot scots should been in final w nonstop terrible calls by jourbert. I admit this was final even w Scotland getting rightful Sede in final
He misses the first infringement and goes double take on second foul.wonderful isn't it
I can’t believe this match was that close the boks should of pushed to score a try thoug
I think it is meant to be semi-final (no hate)
they should've gone for the line out instead of taking the 3 points
What a misleading title. This was the semi final
It's always 2 points 🤣🇳🇿💪🏽🇿🇦
@Go on have some haha.
@Go on have some comparing test match with a world cup match?U normal?
Close game. Shoukd be bee the final.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ That tactics
Let's hope the kiwis win again
Semi final ⛳
Ezebeth, Dellende, Pollard, Le Roux, de Jager v Whitelock, Retallick, Smith, Cane, Coles again in 2023
"All blacks" traduit par "Tous les Noirs" dans le titre... mes yeux saignent :'D
Tirando de traductor de google para el título del vídeo....
😂
11:23 “excuse me ref”
Finale?
Ive never seen pollard miss
I so miss this team im glad i got to be around this team at the heritage hotel
Tout les Noirs vs Springboks.
Google translation is fine XD
Felt bad for Heineke Meyer
This time quarter final will be same as this. But with boks win
This comment didn't age well
All Blacks played rugby, Springboks played football, so All Blacks won.
At 6:30 on the video, the Springbok should have been penalized for 2 rolls before placing the ball in Kaino way. Once you hit the ground, the ball must be placed immediately and not after 2 rolls dumb Frenchy ref.
Looks like Bokke only survive with penalties…. Should be named “SpringPenalties”
Huge forward pass at 3:40
Go cry somewhere else
@Go on have some mate, all I said was it was a forward pass. SA is the number one team atm
@@harbourhaven you don't think its a forward pass?
@Go on have some mate, historically South Africa is a better team in terms of cups They have won 3 Rugby World cups and didn't even compete in the first two cups. Just calm down, both are good teams.
@Go on have some no one but you said they should have won this cup, all I said was it was a forward pass. You crack me up
Who r the commentators?
