Award-winning balafon (xylophone) master Mamadou Diabate comes from a family of griots (oral historians/praise singers) of the Sambla people in Burkina Faso. He is accompanied by Seidou Dao (djembe), Hamidou Koita (drums) and Barron Cortes (bass).
