I just bought a gamehide waterfowl 3 in 1 jacket for 100$ brand new off ebay...they retail for about 180 i think...but let me tell you this thing is freaking awesome. Waterproof windproof has the zip in insulated liner. Tons of pockets waterproof zippers and alot of other features catered to waterfowlers. And is built tough as hell. I dont think you could honestly find a better hunting jacket for 3 times the money i spent on this huntin jacket

good tips, pretty much what i do as well. also, if it's really really cold like here, hand warmer bags in your boots and gloves is a lifesaver!
Same socks I use in cold weather. Have a ton of them now.
Base layer is definitely most important for any cold weather hunting.

I have a drake jacket that is almost just as expensive as the duck oven. I switched from drake to sitka this year and it was the best decision I could have made. Save up your money because it is way worth it
I might have to check em out. I'm from north Ms so we got the big memphis bass pro that sells a ton of sitka. I just may have to get some this summer when its on sale haha
Drake gear is just as expensive.....most of my gear I've had for at least the last 15 years, well before drake and Sitka made it big. I may have to check out Sitka though cause I do deer hunt up north.

I have the Cabela's 3n1 and have hunted with just the base in freezing ass weather with a couple of layers and my waders. Golden... Don't leave without it. I hunt from a kayak so I'm exposed all day and it really works

Hey man, a little trick i learned through Boy Scouts and Outdoor Backcountry Guide Learning Program, always start out cold and add layers. That is start out as cold as you can handle, than if it only gets colder add your thicker outter layers. synthetics so a great job, but you should try to avoid getting sweaty and than exposing yourself to the cold air. If your doing activity right away youll get warm in just your thinner layers, than layer up when you stop moving and your sweat will dry from body heat.
I wish someone would make the old down Columbia like under parka jackets. I love mine but I’m outgrowing it. Also, midway makes a parka just like the banded one he’s talking about but it’s very light on the arms so you’ll want to wear a hoodie underneath but it’s really nice for like 120.

I’m currently gearing up to start duck hunting next season. Just got a Drake and some Muck’s on sale here locally. Gonna get a pair of waders and a shotgun before the year ends.
Just got into duck hunting (I'm still in high school) so I was trying to find cheap camo to wear. Went to dicks and bought an XL thin waterfowl jacket to wear over my sweatshirt and carhartt lol two sizes bigger than I usually wear so it fits well over a carhartt jacket haha
I have a cabelas northern flight thinsulate jacket and I love it! ran about $100 - $150 I think
You need to try and get some military heavy and mid-weight long underwear. It is a quarter of the price of under armor and twice as good!!! Can see you have been using Rogers breathable waders, my first year without neoprene, sure a lot lighter

Two words: Merino Wool. Ditch the polyester and cotton base layers you have. Polyester is not as warm as merino and cotton will not keep you warm if it gets wet. Merino wool is pricey, but I now wear much less bulk and I'm much warmer.

I got my heavy jacket from academy. It definitely keeps me warm
I have the 3 in one also I took the outside jacket and put it in the closet and only wear the bottom layer and blue jeans and wool socks and I stay warm as can be to me waders are the biggest thing if your waders aren’t 1200 gram and up your prolly gonna come home with cold feet lol

Fleece and wool for when it's freezing cold. If you take a dive, it happens, you can ring out your clothes, put them back on, and hunt. Don't ask how I know. It's embarrassing. ;)

I felt the same way about gloves for years then I brought a pair of my mecanix gloves hunting and they work great u can shoot in them u can call in them and ur hand is not frozen so u can drive the boat etc. ps what kind of waders do u use I bought a pair of cheap gander mtn waders and I have so many holes in them have any good pointers been looking at gettin the drake equaders for a while now but not sure if I want to spend that kind of money on a pair of waders that I know nothing about
