This was one of the best STP wrote. The part where Gaspode suggests to Quirke that he has an itchy bottom never gets old! Well done to the narrator for his succinctness - although quite a lot of characters seemed to acquire a sort of Scottish accent?
Nigel Planer. Check his other stuff, the young ones(with tick mayall and the gang) he also did have a detective series(uk)......castle?....he played a judo instructor turned P.I.
Some of the voices are very good but some kind make the character sound slow witted to me, like Angua. Good thing she is described as physically very atractive with a voice like that.
Gaspode the Wonder Dog. I'm sure you've probably gotten a chance to read the book. The dog's a HOOT and appears in other books too, since a subliminally manipulative talking dog is a great side gag.
Note that this isn't the Penguin version (narrated by Jon Culshaw) but the older recording narrated by Nigel Planar, but that's alright since this version is much better.
One small criticism, sorry. The recording cuts off the end of each chapter, which is, I have to admit, a tad annoying 😮 Apart from this, I have thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. Merci!
Thank You for uploading *this* version. Nigel does all the voices to perfection.

Loved this and so appreciate the great narration
The talking (Gaspo?) dog is amazing! He reminds me so much of Dr John Cooper Clarke 😂
