- The Colville Covered Bridge is in Bourbon County, Kentucky. It was built in 1877 and then refurbished twice in the early 1900s. It is one of eleven covered bridges in Kentucky and the only one that remains in Bourbon County. At one point there were over 400 covered bridges in Kentucky. Many of the bridges were destroyed during the Civil War.
There have been rumors that this bridge is haunted. Back in the very early 1900s a young couple driving home from a party came around the corner to fast and drove into the Hinkston river and died. Also, a man hung himself in the middle of the bridge and another lady had a heart attack and died while walking through the bridge.

There are 10 more covered bridges in Kentucky that I will be visiting. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful old bridge 😊
Yes it is! I would love to see a fresh coat of paint on it and no graffiti
Love the video Mark. Do you know why they covered bridges back then and why we do not cover them now?
Thanks Amy! They were covered to protect the bridges from the weather but as metal bridges became the standard they no longer needed to be covered
Cool video Mark. Do you have any plans to come out West? I'd love to make a video together!
Thanks man! Not right now I'll just be traveling all around Kentucky for a bit but if I ever head out west I would for sure be down!
@@pioneer_productions Awesome I'll keep that in mind! 😀
