Trying out for OCSO SWAT is HARD

Every year, the Orange County Sheriff's Office SWAT team holds its SWAT Selection Process. The process consists of three phases and begins with the physical portion, which includes stress shooting, a rappel, an obstacle course, a fitness test and swim test. Eleven deputies attended the SWAT selection in 2022. Only four deputies made it past the first phase.

I think it's more a mental thing than actual practicality, just like Navy seals and Ranger training, or Q course for spec forces

I don’t know if I’d wanna do swat but I fully intend on being an deputy for OCSO amazing agency and I’m ready to learn might end up doing K-9 unit or bike unit since I like building rapport with the community

What are the prerequirements for trying out for this swat unit

Usually these type of units they are searching for people who have a collage degree, speaks a second language, who do not were glasses, who are not partially deaf, who are as fit as possible (i.e., run a marathon less then a 3h, is good benchmark). But, depending on the skills which the applicant have everything is negotiable.
