Thought I was the only one who witnessed that, laughed a bit because he pushed the little guy out of the way.
I’ve seen them in action. 3am going work and it looked like a fleet of military trucks. They were going in hard to a local residence.
Being a LEO anywhere in this country has to be one of the most difficult and frustrating jobs, I’m retired but put in 27+ years as a LEO, a firefighter and a medic, as well as being a USAF vet, so I have some perspective! I’m not sure I’d do it again but I probably would! Good job LACo..👍🏽🇺🇸

People have no idea what it takes to be one of these individuals. Men and woman People have no idea the demands on the mind and the body and the sacrifices they all make from the top down to save lives and that includes the bad guy. They have a great Captain who came up through the ranks. The common sense these operators have and the ability to make choices under what would be stressful for anyone is simply amazing. I’m very proud of them all. Let’s stop believing the haters that want to defund. Remember they train and master to save everyone’s lives. If they take a life it’s because of the choices that bad person made to harm others. If you look back at how this unit has evolved and the history and traditions you will understand it’s not a job any cop can have. SEB 🇺🇸❤️

I’d say closer to 15-20lb not 50. 2plates 10 lbs, AR15 6lb average. Others gear another 5lb.
Probably 25lbs, but 25lbs isn’t a lot of weight but when you maneuver with it on you and actually put it on you can feel it man

Crazy to me that SWAT is considered so elite but all the stuff they do is basic training in the army.

There have been very competent women on both LASD SEB and LAPD SWAT in the past. The issue is not that they aren't allowed to be on the team. The issue is few women desire to be on the team and even fewer can pass the physical qualification course to make the team. It is a very physically demanding assignment and not even all male officers can pass the physical test let alone the oral interview. And yes, I have worked with both teams, after passing the testing process for my agency.
