    Yup. Flight modes are used a lot by sailplane guys. I'm my case Launch, Thermal, Speed, and Landing each have their own trims. Currently I have these modes enabled simply by clicking one of the top two or bottom two buttons of the six 6 located between jog dials O > I < O . Any reasons why this approach might not be a good idea? Initially, I did not have a transition delay time set , but now that's in there it seems to work well and It's super nice that the mode name shows up under the model name.

    Again , congrats for this video. helped me a lot! Another question: Which channel in the receiver is responsible for wing sweep ?

      Ch6. Create a new free mix. Source is whatever 3 way switch you want to use and output channel 6.

      @@all_rc i really appreciate your help.I've succeeded binding new UMX Eflite/Spektrum planes( UMX Timber, UMX F-14) , but i've noticed the older ones, ( UMX B25, UMX GeeBee) didn't work fine.Maybe its because they don't use DSM2 i think.
      Best regards, your videos are helping me a lot.

      I haven't tried the older ones. I wonder if it's just a firmware bug. I had those old eflite planes before, but i was using edgetx and a Radiomaster tx16. They use the same type of module (4 in 1 protocol module). It worked fine on that system. It might be just a firmware update or something like that..... I'll try and investigate.

    I have used flight modes for years and have never used trims. It's odd that all flight mode videos mention this. What about 3D mode, snap roll condition, Different throws, Stall turn condition, different idles. Are there any FRsky videos that go over other, more common uses of flight modes?

    • @all_rc

      The power in these higher end radio systems is the flexibility. You can use the different tools they have in different ways. The primary use of flight modes is to allow for different trims settings in different conditions. You can do the conditions you described with flight modes or you can just use switches to activate those conditions without flight modes. But you can not get different trim conditions without flight modes. My video was for basic flight mode usage in the particular case I needed to program. If I didn't need a different trim condition, I personally wouldn't do it with a flight mode. But that's just me. It's your radio and if it works for you, no problem doing it in the method you described.

    I use flight modes for all my EDFs and Turbines. I am new to Frsky, when I set up flight modes is the trim automatically independent to each flight mode?

    • @all_rc
      @all_rc  Год назад

      Once you turn on independent trim for each of the surfaces, yes. In the video, I turn on independent trim for aileron and elevator. So just like that! Once that is turned on, then each flight mode has its own trim for each channel that was turned on.

    Hello. I have three flight modes setup. I need a "fourth" flight mode. I created FM4.How do I enable it?

    • @all_rc
      @all_rc  3 месяца назад +1

      I assume you mean how to put them on switches to activate 4 things instead of 3. I haven't tried it yet since I haven't had a use case but I would either use the function switches. You can make the function switch into a 6 position switch in the model, edit model area. Or you can use logical switches. For example activate fm1 by a logical switch set to AND. Choose two switches like SA up and SB up. For fm2, choose SA mid and SB up. For FM3 SA down and SB up. For FM4, no logical switch, just SB NOT UP (choose SB up, hit and hold and invert it).
      Try that and see if that works for you. If you need more step by step instructions, email me at all.rc.air@gmail.com and I'll send you a step by step.

      @@all_rc Thanks for replying. Here is what I did, before I received this response. Created FM 4 from the flight mode menu. Gave it a name. Assigned a two-position switch. In my mixers and looking at the "flight modes" I see that FM4 is available. Looks good. Back to the main screen or the flight modes menu when I select the FM4 switch nothing happens. But the other flight modes respond when I select the three-position switch that was assigned. Something very small is happening that is preventing FM4 from functioning.

      Try the logical switch method I mentioned. Fm4 is lower priority the other FM's (fm1 being highest priority) so since FM3 is activated by 3pos switch, it stays activated over fm4 regardless of fm4 being activated by the 2pos switch. The logical switch method works because it turns off the 3 pos switch when fm4 is selected. If you haven't played with logical switches before, send me an email and I can give you a step by step guide on your setup.

      The Twin 64mm F-14 from motion didnt require any wing sweep trim. I dont have the twin 80 so i am not sure on that one.

    Still need ailerons trimmed in flight modes just in case the flaps induce a roll.

      Good point. I usually just mechanically fix the flaps if I encounter that but that's I good point.
