Never thought of sitting by the campfire with a roasted marshmallow on a stick in one hand and scoring a Blade Runner tribute track with the other. Now I know what Daniel does in his spare time! 😂
Hi Sparks3D. Jamming with other musicians outdoors (where there's no AC) is one of my favorite pastimes. I don't always get to do it, but when I do it's so much fun to play "real" synthesizers anywhere you can find acoustic guitars and percussion toys. -_Daniel_
@@sweetwater I definitely need to get out of the house more and experience music outside. I do have some gear that is portable like an Uno Synth and Polyend Tracker, both of which that can be powered by my beefy battery brick. Time to get some fresh air! Cheers!
The way the keyboard rocks like there's a rubber foot missing when Daniel plays would drive me mad. If anything moves even slightly when I'm playing I get into a rage 🤣 kudos 💪
Can you write your own sequences or are you limited to some kind of preset, and is it a step sequencer or is it possible to phrase-capture /record a sequence like you can on the Cobalt 8M?
Hi Laura. It has factory sequences, and you can record you own sequences in real time (512 notes) and in step time (32 steps with up to 2,016 rests). -_Daniel_
This thing sounds fantastic!! May be calling my Sweetwater dude tomorrow! Do they all rock back and forth on the table when you play them? Or is that just the table?
Yeah... The table was not flat, but I was too busy getting everything ready to shoot and didn't notice. The COBALT5S is surprisingly solid... and flat;-) -_Daniel_
Hi. There's a Sustain Jack on the back as well as a Sustain light directly above the X/Y/Z Pad. It is also the Latch for the Arpeggiator. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
I love camping and I love synthesizers but the idea of sitting by the campfire playing a synth was hilarious to me. Great video! Sold me on this one. Immediately bought it from Sweetwater.
Check out the COBALT5S from Modal Electronics, a streamlined but powerful take on the popular COBALT8 virtual analog synthesizer! 🎹
Cobalt is a wonderful VA synth line, with its own character and deserving much more popularity! Great demo as always Daniel. Thanks!
That last feature was like a cherry on top
Wicked!
Thanks for the demo. A deep dive sounds great.
Thank you and there are some solid sounds coming from this little unit; may have to get one.
Yes, deep dive
THE BEST IN THE MARKET... NOW!!! THANKS! My friends of Sweetwater God bless !
Deep dive video next
I'm holding out to see which company puts out a Daniel Fisher signature synth first 👊
Hi David. Not technically a "signature" synth, but my name and picture are on the Novation MiniNova synthesizer box. -_Daniel_
@@sweetwater Awesome! I hope/foresee you designing one with all the experience you have humor aside
8:40 fantastic work Daniel! Wow 🙏🏻🌈✨✌🏻🌿🕊🌸

How do you think Kraftwerk got the idea of Autobahn 😀
Thanks for a great demo! I know they’re different, but would you recommend this unit over the Minilogue as a first synth?

Hi Chippendale. I promise you that, when the table is truly flat (unlike that table), the COBALT5S sits firmly on the surface. -_Daniel_
Sounds cool

I wanna know if I can trade in my Cobalt 8M & get this instead. I realize I need instruments with keys.

Hello. Is there a sustain and latch button's possibilities? Thank you

@@sweetwater 🙏👍✋Hello from Tallinn, Deniel
Is this a pre production unit? On Cobalts website they use waterfall keys, like on the Arturia Keysteps.
Take my money!
So they making keyboards for tiny people now lol
Yeah, tiny... like me! -_Daniel_
Yeah, tiny light keyboards for people with bad backs, like me!
One cute little noise maker. I've yet to hear some usable sound patches.
What do you play, bluegrass?
