I'm in 9a central fl our fall is our spring grow you can use a terra-cotta pot placing like an old washrag or socks on the inside bottom of the pot so it can slow down the water in the rise beds Theirs is great video on clay pot water for the garden.or use our dishes water for the watering the garden mild soap is okay it help the soil retain moister in the soil I have gone up to three times a week with dish water You can test on one side of the rise bed to balance it out the watering
I did the same thing grew trees for a year while looking for property. found 24 acres with tank and home and took all my bushes and trees...grasshoppers devoured them in two weeks sad. now growing in a hoop house surrounded by chickens lol
Hi, I am the founder of the Austin Meet-Up BUBS gardening (Backyard, Urban, Balcony, Suburban gardening). I would like to know if you offer tours/mini-lectures about your garden? I'd love to bring my group to see them. I look forward to hearing back from you. Cheryl
I live in Pflugerville and also have a problem with unknown animals eating cucumbers, baby tomatoes, and now my Chives. I have seen a squirrel taking a peach and raw persimmon out of the trees; however, I don’t believe it will care for the greens. Hope you find out your suspect of the crime in your backyard soon.
ATX resident here. I have a loquat tree and I did the same thing to mine (it's one stalk now). I grew it from neighbors cutting a few years ago. No issues and it's doing well! My lemon tree, on the other hand, has been a struggle. What did you do to get that tree to fruit??
Good to know! I’m definitely going to prune mine. As for the lemon tree I don’t have much advice because I’ve only had it for 3-4 months. My other lemon tree has tripled in size but hasn’t fruited yet. I have it in a large pot and feed it with worm castings and a kelp fertilizer! Hope that helps!
☀️🌻👨🌾🐇🐝🌼Fantastic update of your beautiful garden. I’m just starting to harvest the first fruits and veggies from my garden. I love to learn from other gardeners like you. I appreciate the information you’ve shared. It’s helped me lot. I also post garden videos. I hope we can connect and keep learning from each other.
Applegate valley in southern Oregon is zone 8b also. Coming from Austin originally, was surprised I ended up in the same zone that I left.
I love how real your garden is!!

I’m really thinking it was a deer! They haven’t been back since but we shall see 😬
I’d be so sad if a squirrel stole my fruit!

Hi from Buda, how often are you watering your tomatoes and peppers in this heat?
Hi! I’ve been watering every morning. Hopefully we get rain this week 🙏🙏
