In this video we shoot some POV Car Photography in the Beautiful Rocky Mountains of Canada. Let me take you behind the camera so you can see what I see and how the final edits come together. I shot this using the Lumix S5iiX and switched between a 35mm f1.8 prime and an 85mm f1.8 prime. These are the best lenses for car photography in my opinion. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

What lens do you use for car photo/videography? I am going to go to a carshow and the organizer asked me to do some pics and vids and I have the 50mm 1.8 and the 85mm 1.8. Am I ok with them or is that necessary to use a wide angle lens like a 24 or 35mm?
That rush when you know you’re about to get the most fire shot out of the entire shoot is what I live for
Just had that feeling 40 min ago, it’s such an addictive feeling I love it
I can't even fathom shooting in a location like this, especially with a car like this. Absolutely stunning. The photos look great too 😉
6:41 hearing you (during all video also) made me smile, you love what you do and it shows, and you're really great. Such an inspiration for me!
Those are sick shots, especially the ones of the back of the car facing down the boat ramp!
Right?! That moment got me hyped haha.
That steering wheel shot with the door in the foreground ???? Touched my soul !!! 😂🔥🔥🔥❤️
Killed it! I love these POV videos. Keep them coming!
It was super fun!
Love a good POV photography session. I went for the A7IV after going back and forth between Sony and Lumix. I'm still impressed with how awesome the S5iix is though. Love those compositions
WOW! Those shots are absolutely amazing!
Amazing photos, beautiful cars and a great video, always find these pov videos useful for learning. I look forward to the next one 🙌
Unbelievable shots wow I love the edits and how you worked the colors. Always get stumped when posing multiple cars, you did that so effortlessly and simply, and the photos all look commercial level quality, great work man!
Thanks brother! Ya I’m glad you picked up on that section cuz it’s super valuable understand your camera settings to capture depth that way. Appreciate you dude!
I learned I need a polarizer asap and need new lens the background drop to come closer was incredible.. great work man you inspired lots of photographers
Love how you framed individual aspects of the car 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely breathtaking ❤❤❤❤❤
one of the greatest porsche photosoots i have ever seen
I REALLY love the 85mm shots...Great job! This demonstrated the S5 and S5ii aren't just good video cameras.

Isn’t it unreal?! What a cool opportunity. The owner was also super cool, came out with his wife and they were so chill. Made for an epic shoot day. Thanks as always for the support brother 👊🏼
Amazing work 👏 🙌, thank you for sharing your process and tips. I learned a lot from your channel 🙏
My pleasure dude! Thanks for watching and commenting. Means a ton 🙌🏼
Loved all the pics. The only thing is bros walking close to the car and you capturing his reflection in some of the pics. Haha.
Nah it’s all good! I couldn’t have done it without these guys help. I could have been less lazy and photoshopped them out haha!
Man these are amazing! Thanks for all the tips these last couple of years. You’ve definitely taught me a lot and inspired me to keep growing as a photographer. Love the excitement man I do the same 😅
Glad you liked them mate!! I get amped when the right shot comes together. 😃
@@TheCarCreativekeep it up ! 🤝🏾
Beautiful shots
Thanks brother!! 😃
Love a good POV video, shots are killer of course. That's a very interesting take on the pov cam setup/angle, I tried giving pov a shot when I was in Calgary using a chest mount and not sure if I even got enough usable for a couple reels. Back to the drawing board for me I guess lol
Ya the chest mounts are hit or miss for sure. I liked this option better. I want to get a GoPro Max lens that will keep the video level regardless of the orientation I’m shooting. 👌🏼
I noticed you don't take as many photos as I would have, felt like you were more strategic about each photo you took, which I want to start doing! But loved this style! Please do more like this!
Brilliant 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much for watching!
@@TheCarCreative wish you were in Orange County CA. I have access to a bunch of super cars 🥲
I’m jealous 😢😢❤
super super fotos bravo you are good very good foto
MAKE MORE OF THESE!
👊🏼👊🏼 deal. Thanks for watching!!
Great photos but Im interested in why you chose f/3.5 to f/5 instead of f/5 … f/8?
So far I have seen no gain noise-wise going from ISO100 to ISO50 w a dig cam.
Also thank you for using link twin.
The location is….🔥
Just found this channel and am now following, awesome content! I made an audible “Mmm” sound at 3:49, that photo of the dash is amazing.
Yes! I love when a photo hits hard enough for an “mmm” - I really should post that picture. It does hit. Stoked that you’re here man, hopefully you’ll enjoy the journey! 🙌🏼
@@TheCarCreative It's a great one. Thanks man, keep up the good work!
Insane shots brotha! sad the video ended lol
Glad you loved it mate!! Maybe I’ll do more of this later.
Hey man! I love your channel and love your videos. I have a Canon EOS RP and my lenses are sigma art 35mm f1.4, sigma art 85mm f1.4, canon 50mm f1.8, and canon ef 24-105 F4L. I’m trying to see about what lens I should buy next and wanted a good opinion
Can you explain how it works with the compression of the background of the 85 mm lense. I dont understand how it works.
Nice Video and very cool shots.
Ahhhh, that car is a beautiful piece of engineering. I had the thrill of driving a GT3 RS on the track last summer. Amazing! Question: What is that contraption you had your camera hanging on instead of a tripod? Again, cool video!!
Thanks for watching! It was a really simple 1/4 thread extension arm from my camera body to my GoPro. 👊🏼👊🏼
beautiful work man! can you please tell me this location or if you know someplace similar around toronto?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
😍😍
😘
Hi! I really like this type of video as POV, which shows the photo session "behind the scenes" :) I saw, You use a CPL filter. What brand is the CPL filter you are using? :)
The brand is called Moment. You can find them linked at the bottom of my description.
What do you think of the Sony gm 35mm 1.4
DANNY ROJAS!!
Football is life!
I just got a Sony a7ii last week and I been binge watching your videos like crazy! very informative and easy to watch. Quick question, why did you set your iso so low?
Thanks for watching man! Means a ton having your support! And glad you’re getting some good info from them also. 👊🏼
ISO is like adding artificial light to a scene. In photography I try and set it so that I’m only using the natural light coming into the camera through the aperture and shutter speed. If it is a darker scene that is when I would start to add ISO if my lens and shutter speed couldn’t compensate for the light well enough. In video though there are time when you would set you iso to what is called the “native ISO” and that iso point is set to utilize the full range of the cameras dynamic range in video. This cameras native iso is 640. It is possible I should have set it there for photos also, but my knowledge doesn’t go that deep haha. As long as I’m not adding noise in the image with fake light (iso) then I’m happy.
Does that make sense?
@@TheCarCreative yes that makes sense! I just had a show outside but I was shooting at a higher ISO ~100. I’m going to slammedenuff Chicago where there’s going to be a warehouse indoor show. I only have a Sony a7ii with a kit lens of 28-70 but the aperture stops at 3.5. What would you suggested shooting indoors in a warehouse setting?
please tell me very quietly if the sony fx30 is better than the panasonic videodcat
Awesome video, beautiful car! Great work. What's the mount you're using for the GoPro?
Thank you! I was just using an extension arm with thread mounts to go into the camera and into the GoPro. There is a quick shot in the intro you could pause it and see the rig. Very simple.
What's your opinion of the Lumix S5IIX? I recently got it but I haven't had the chance to try it on a paid photoshoot yet. Also what are your photo settings, I can't get the iso under 640.
Love this video.
What kind of GoPro mount is that?
Thanks man! It’s either. Delkin Fat Gecko (linked in bio for Amazon) or I also love using the iFootage car mount system, much more expensive but I trust it with my bigger camera rigs.
what's that camera mount for your GoPro i need that bro im sick of putting mine on my cheat lol
BROOO , how do u record the pov while holding ur camera is it go pro ? and how u attach it on ur camera?? there is no amazon link in ur discreption :( please tell me
Love the work and content. Is the car orange or red? I know that's a tough but fun color to capture.
It’s a colour called “guards red”. Reds are so hard to get right in the edit. I would say the photos are closer then the go pro colors haha.
these photos are Fire. Do the stackable presets work in lightroom mobile or just on computer?
Unfortunately they are designed for computer use. They “could” be used on mobile but the experience is not as it was designed.
were these pictures before or after editing? These are insane bro
Thanks man! All the images overlayed were edited 👊🏼🙏🏼 I appreciate you watching!
I noticed the shutter speed changing between 1/200 - 1/500 between the photos. Was there a specific reason for that change or was that setting auto changing? Great photos!!
Yes, often I set my aperture and iso (lowest possible), and that way I can use my shutter speed to get the exposure I want in camera without changing depth (aperture) or adding any extra noise (ISO). Shutter speed is the best way, in these conditions, to control the exposure.
i have a question. why color grade to the point where the car is red instead of that beautiful sunset orange? Granted i wasnt there and couldnt see how the color looks in person but its not that red irl is it??
i want to go photo shoot now
👊🏼👊🏼 that’s what I’m here to do, get you inspired to go do more! Have fun!
YO! I run a car photography tiktok page, but I only do slideshows with photos I took on my phone. I have a Sony a3000 (cheap, mirrorless) with a broken viewfinder, it has a wide angle lens and a zoom lens. Do you have any videos on how to avoid reflections in photography/videography and how to adjust your camera settings depending on the environment? I haven't really shot anything with it and I think I can really improve my craft by just learning and repetition.
For removing reflection from any sort of object you can use circular polariser filter often said as (CPL FILTER)
Curious where's this located since im new to alberta
Incredible location! where exactly is this in Banff? Or jasper?
This is taking highway 40 so not quite Canmore or Banff but a beautiful driving road in Alberta.
Thanks I believe this is down to Kananaskis. Will definitely do a photoshoot there this summer! Keep up the amazing work! @@TheCarCreative
I got to move to the west coast.
It is beautiful out that way! This is slightly inland in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta. A beautiful place to live man.
Impeccable visual journey with the GT3 RS! 📸 The rareness truly radiates through each shot. For fellow enthusiasts, how do you believe car photography impacts the automotive world's evolution? Keen to hear thoughts!
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING SHOTS! I'm on my ass litteraly man!!
Is that possible to get one of them to download? I'd love to set one of them as my laptop wallpaper 😍😁
Ya man, you can actually download some of the raw photos from one of my latest Lightroom videos and edit it yourself if you’d like.
I appreciate the kind feedback man. I use these as my wallpapers and printed one off too. It was a special day.
Which filter do you use for the pictures?🔥
This was the moment CPL filter. There’s a link for them at the bottom of my description if you wanna help a brother out. 👊🏼
What are your tips on interacting with your clients while you're shooting?
Be a good human. Be kind. we wouldn’t have the opportunities to shoot these amazing cars with out them. When you do it enough times you know how you want the car parked to create a good image, but if you haven’t done a ton of shoots prior, come with the images you’d like you recreate and show them so they understand what you’re going for. Prep well and good communication. 👌🏼 Thanks for watching!!
