First, ever song I learned on the harmonica and one of the early songs I learned on the bass. Ian Anderson is not just a great flute player but a great harmonica player. Glenn Cornick is a fantastic bass player as well

When I was a wee lass I went to a cottage with a best friend and her parents for the weekend and her grumpy Da couldn't stand our music and he'd only allow us to bring one cassette for the 4 hour-one way car ride.
She and I battled for an hour before leaving cuz she wanted to bring KISS and I refused to go unless we brought Jethro Tull's "Aqualung"!
    🥳I💪🏻won!
🤦🏻‍♀️The old fart only let it play 4 songs on the hour!
🌹Thank you for sharing, I love everything👏🏻created by Jethro Tull, especially the great🎶musical💭memories.

Oh yes it is! Johnny Halliday Show recorded April 15 1969 - they're first trip to Paris. Check out the show logo on the left bass drum. Martin joined December 24 1968. He's there. Also, there is no film of Mick Abrahams with JT.

There is a Tull/Beefheart connection, oddly enough. A bunch of Beefheart's Magic Band guys formed a band called Mallard in about 1973. Ian Anderson heard them, and liked them so much that he financed their debut album.

This was during that short period when they were between guitarists. On the live Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus version, you'll see Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath fame, also miming the guitar part. I can't tell for the life of me who the guitar player is here haha!
Also, this shuffle is wicked!! Clive Bunker was just phenomenal!!

    Words to live by::
    Gonna lose my way tomorrow,
    gonna give away my car.
I'd take you along with me,
but you would not go so far.
Don't see what I do not want to see,
    you don't hear what I don't say.
Won't be what I don't want to be,
    I continue in my way.
Don't see, see, see where I'm goin',
Don't see, see, see where I'm goin',
Don't see, see, see where I'm goin' to,
    I don't want to.

    haha!
how about J. H. stands for seeing them live, as in:
    Jesus H. Christ!
I did 6 times in their best live-works era between
71 to 75, with TAAB, Passion Play, Aqualung, War Child, etc. sets
    usually 3 solid awe-inspiring hours--I'm still amazed!
Each time was new & like for War Child...all of a sudden lights completely out
& the loudest air raid sirens in pitch black rumbling the arena-
then they got louder with lights flashing from 360 degrees-
blew a few minds & caused a couple bad 'trips'!
