Fun fact (but also trigger warning):
most of the hysteria from poisoned candy comes from a case back in 1975 when a “dad”, later dubbed the infamous candyman, poisoned his own 8 year old son with Halloween candy and ended his life. He continued to give cyanide laced pixy sticks out to five or six other children that thankfully were never ate.
