Greg had the one and only Danger Dan out to our backyard in Idaho for some sweet Pan Am riding. The Pan America is Dan's first new Harley Davidson ever and he is putting it to the test in every way possible. From river crossings, boulder fields, back roads, and open highways Danger Dan is riding his Pan Am harder than anyone else out on the road. Dan has been ripping his Pan America all over the country and even gave it a sweet custom flame paint job! After his ride form Texas to Sturgis he pointed his bike towards Idaho and met up with us at our shop in Idaho Falls.
Dan and Greg had a full day of riding through some beautiful back country in Idaho and Wyoming. They rode highway, graded road, single track, and even did some bushwhacking. At the end of the day they sat down to do record Dan's Podcast. They talked fo over 2 hours about everything motorcycle and Harley Davidson. We collected all their thoughts on the Pan Am in this video but make sure to check out Dan's Podcast 'Danger Dan's Talk Shop' for the full thing.

Great job with this video, and awesome job with your support of the Pan America. I wish more Harley dealership had the same passion for this bike as you do.
Watching this while wearing a MCShopT! Daaaaaaamn
dam his custom paint job makes it look even more bad ass, dude should have his own youtube channel
Awesome! I enjoyed watching the video and listening to the Podcast! 😎👍🏻
Awesome! Thank you!
LOVE the video....except one thing. Not just guys! I have a Buell Ulysses...with many miles on it (loved it).....and have had my Pan Am for about 1 month and rolling to 5K. This bike is fantastic....touring and off road. And....not just for the boys! 😉
Agreed! It's not just for the guys. We know several women that are riding the Pan America too! Glad to hear you're enjoying yours!
Do you miss Ulysses engine sound/feel. I'm curious as what can be done engine mapping with an air-cooled 1200...Be safe Sis 👍
@@1STGeneral i kept my Buell too. Lol but yes a little....but will get used to the new engine on the PanAm. Its wicked!
How tall are you?? I'm 5'7 on a good day any issues getting feet down off road?. Thank you
@@totalglitch few inches taller but....since I'm a [girl] have been told by other companies that some bikes might be too powerful. (LOL made up my mind as to where to take my business!) I love the adventure sport because it handles so well, I sit high enough to be eye level with pickups and can carry extra stuff.
Awesome. Looked like a blast.
Oh yeah!
Cool that you guys mentioned the Ulysses. I owned and rode the hell out of two of them back when they were new. Was a pretty good machine. I spent most of my time sport touring them . If course now I am on a Pan Am Special. Doing the same with it. May hit some fire trails in WV this summer. Was cool listening to you guys. Ride on
Thanks for sharing!
As a Road Glide Special '15 rider (also owned several Harleys from Dyna Fat Bob '09 to Ultra '13) always interesting to see the Pan America. Before it was released I thought that I'll probably buy BMW R1250 GS for my adventure bike but after watching God knows-how-many videos about the Pan America, obviously i'll choose the Pan America and the good news is the Pan America is coming next year to Indonesia (my country). Good video as always Grand Teton!
Thanks for watching.
Loved the Flame job on the Pan America. Great Vid!
Glad you enjoyed it
I ran across Dan in Arkansas while riding the TAT in the summer of 2020. We had a great conversation on the trail and talked a good but about his custom built Harley that he was riding. He was a really cool dude and Im not surprised that he is riding the crap out of this PanAmerica.
A great conversation and fantastic video in a great setting that beckons us to join in the comfort of the great outdoors. I too am 6'6" and need my bars to be higher but other than that, my bike fits me to a tee. Great views of some incredible looking rides which has built a strong desire to make my trip from GA to the North Western states this year. We have some great rides in Georgia that I would recommend for on and off road riding but there is nothing better than riding through Yellowstone, Arches, Glacier and so many other sites. My Pan America is my favorite bike of all time. The only issue I have had with mine is the small battery which has caused some electronic issues (small in nature) that can put you on the side of the road for a bit. The Pan America is for those who want to tour / adventure into riding other than asphalt. It is an amazing bike that can be configured to your particular riding style or terrain. Some posters talk about supply issues which has been a problem that I solved in calling and visiting dealerships around my area. It was a pain to set my bike up but it also allowed me to ride and get familiar with the bike and settings. Lastly, this is the only bike on the market that is comfortable for my tall frame but also for the combat injuries sustained while in the United States Marine Corps. Having programmable riding allows the operator to select the firmness and response of the bike as was eluded to in the video which is important for those who have any type of injuries. With that said, before you buy one, ride one to make sure the bike is for you! I'll be stopping in to visit Grand Teton Harley-Davidson!
Hope to see you soon! Great point of view! We also love the Pan America!!
Good move guys, Danger Dan is your man!
Great video. Spent a couple weeks out in the Black Hills - Rev'it's ADV Fest and Sturgis Rally (Rode with the Pan America owners invitational ride. Turned over 12,000 miles on her last month. HD has made an amazing machine.
Glad to hear you're enjoying your Pan Am!
Very cool video, beautiful location.
Glad you enjoyed it
I’m trying to get one of these from Teton Harley. Guys there are pretty knowledgeable and way stoked on the bike. I like that they are so pumped about this bike.
I’ve never owned a Harley Davidson, I’m hoping that Harley comes out with some performance mods so it puts it in the Super Adventure Category.
Right on!
He should try to keep up with the ( million dollar Bogan.)
He rides his roadking harder then most ride there dirt bikes.across the world
Million dollar bogan, ( Danny) is very hard arse on bikes, love his stuff
I've had the pleasure of meeting Dan a few times (CLE, TN). He's a really cool dude, down to earth, not full of himself, asks you questions about who you are and what it is that you do. I highly recommend listening to his podcast. Just search for "Danger Dan" and you'll find it.
fucking awesome video! I pick my up 22 Pan America tomorrow from Wrecking Crew Harley Davidson in Bristol TN and Ill be posting videos every day. I'm coming from a 21 BMW F850GS and I couldn't be more excited to start this adventure. I appreciate GTHD and Danger Dan for this video ill be following along w yall's adventures from this point forward.
Congrats and thanks for watching!
I enjoyed the video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
As far as the risers go I put 2" risers on mine and it's perfect
man, it cool you bought the 1st 2 that came in and had your tech's start working on them....i wish every dealer would have done that.....but i guess with alot of the dealers being bought out by car dealerships, the owners don't ride or are more interested in the bagger segment.......anyway man, cool thing what your doing! sláinte!
Great video! We bought 2!
Good choice!
I just watched this video because it came up as "suggested". I'm Bones haha. Did Wes talk you you about my dumbass 🤘🏻 Yeah I've been ramblin this Pan Am around as much as I can.
Heck yeah! Pan Am is great glad your getting some good use out of it!!
surprised Hoover Vacuums hasnt sued over the patent on the Pan headlight haha
What vest is Danger Dan wearing? Looks sweet on the Harley off road
Really enjoy Dan.. funny guy. Im a jeep owner and i will ride the shit out of a Pan Am. Looking forward to seeing more videos.
I dunno why Harley even bothered with the Pan Am, I saw that Million Dollar Bogan guy riding a Road King off road.... They work just fine lol.
Bogan strikes again 😝
Diggin that you guys a real
Hey guys I couldn’t afford the pan am but I got a CRF450L a year ago and it has over 8k on it now
It’s a great start for Harley Davidson in the Adventure market.
Was short live...but it'll let me buy one...deprecated 50% in 2yrs,£6k off old stock in the UK...£8k($8k buying power)will buy you a 3-4mile one,a '22 one
Great video! Really enjoyed the format of sitting down and chatting with Danger Dan. I got my Pan Am about a month ago and have 1000 payment miles on it already. My only gripe is not with the bike but with Harley Davidson. This issue may be due to the pandemic effect on supplies chains but Harley was not ready with the accessories. I wanted the spoke wheels, not the mags but Harley said no more spoked wheels in 2021. The panniers and top case are unavailable. The exhaust upgrade is unavailable. Basically, every accessory they have which is a moneymaker for new bike sales is UNAVAILABLE. Drives me crazy. There's my two cents, again, loved this video and I am looking forward to my first long tour on and off-road.
1000 payments.....Ouch
Yep, saddlebags
16:00. Thank you so much for preserving American English and not succumbing to a strange and confusing word like "paniers." No. Nobody wants "paniers." There are hard and soft bags. Or you may call them side cases or side bags, or saddle bags, or hard cases.
💯
I've gotten compliments on the cooler on my PA, when I was just running the top box. I just said "thanks, want a cold drink?". It fits my lunchbox/cooler for work perfect.
What boots are you wearing?
EBR is creating another "Ulysses" with their version of the rotex, it should outperform on the street substantially. We'll see if it's any good offroad, doubtful 🤣
I'm glad Eric hasn't given up
I’m a new Pan Am owner in UT… will call you IF I have any issues
Right on! Our owner lives in Utah and spends a lot of time on his Pan Am on the backroads in the state.
Awesome paint job, I want it. Who’s the painter?
It was done by Chemical Candy Customs in Dallas, Texas.
What are the boots you are wearing in this video ?!
They are Forma Terra Evo Low boots.
So sick
Definitely not a GS killer but cool bike nonetheless
I had a gs1250. This is a GS killer my friend.
I want this bike so bad. I tried today but my wife said no lol.
Hahah well if your wife changes her mind call us anytime! It’s a great bike for sure!
Spotify link is cactus
Best PR guy Harley have...and don't realise it?
It would be nice to see a *detail * video from a 5’6” or shorter rider perspective as far as handling, riding Pan America, kind like danger Dan fire side chat, obviously minus the fire. I think a very large audience would appreciate that. Nothing is out there in detail.
Thanks for the recommendation
I want a pan so fucking bad...but a used Africa twin is half the price. 😵
and it's half the bike.
@@billdaggett7911 Bet I’d ride circles around you on either one 🤡
Go back to your Softail gramps, you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Not anymore P/A is cheaper than the Honda here now
I'm confused...... Where is the Danger??? The title is so misleading. It should be titled "Sitting around with some guy named Dangerous Dan that talks a lot."
We’ll for one thing he’s currently conquering the Pan America trail by himself on his Pan Am! You can check out more about it on his Instagram
@@grandtetonharley-davidson8690 I'm not discrediting his abilities to ride. I said the title and the content of the video does not match. "Riding back roads with Danger Dan" implies there will be some riding. "and he rides his Pan American harder than you" well again implies there will be not just riding but some impressive riding???? I get it you got me, I was suckered in and watched the entire video but never saw anything close to the title's description...
Save your money…buy a KLR 650 😂
