Here is my current opinion on Dante (1.3.2). prepare for an essay lol Dante feels like a hybrid character to me. He can fill the healer role with the increased heal speed from his lamp, he can kind of loop with his lamp helping him recover stamina in some situations, he can support loopers by placing his lamp to assist transitions/loops, and his repair speed is solid. This is kind of a jack of all trades, master of none type situation. - Healing. The increased heal speed is not enough to justify him as a dedicated healer, as just having a little extra heal speed isn't going to majorly benefit you. - Looping. His looping capabilities are alright, but he has very poor stats for it. The lamp can save you, but with a 60 second cooldown it can only save you so often, plus depending on your situation it could provide little value. The easiest way to gain value out of his lamp is to set it up in advance (35:00 for example). When set up, it can provide a ton of value, which can help you loop the killer and/or get away once the killer kicks the lamp. But there are only so many spots like the Lakeview Balcony spot, which makes it a little situational. In most situations you just set the lamp up as a getaway, which it can do a decent job at. - Stats. 7 stamina is good, but the value gained from a high stamina stat diminishes as the gap between it and the speed stat increases. 5 speed is pretty bad, but I don't think he was made to be a super strong looper. His class is support after all. However with poor loop stats I would hope for some stealth capabilities. At first he had 8 composure which was nice, but it got bumped down to 5 which is unfortunate. That along with 2 stealth is pretty bad. I don't think that 3 composure and 1 repair stat were worth exchanging for 1 stamina stat. About his repair, it is actually quite solid at 6, but usually with the rest of the stats being subpar you would hope for more in the repair department. But once again he is a support, not a gen rusher. At the very least he has 9 healing which is good, but healing is arguably the least important stat. Overall pretty poor stats. - Supporting. I think the main way to support with his lamp is to assist transitions/loops. I do think it can be quite good in those situations. If trying to help with a transition, you can place your lamp in line with the pathing the survivor you are assisting is likely to take (to the next loop/vault). Usually you won't be put in a ton of danger doing so, but occasionally you can get caught out in a bad position and with Dante's poor stats, it often results in an unfavorable situation. But if you play smart then that shouldn't be an issue. If I were to throw him into a tier list he would probably land around low B or high C. He's not terrible, but does not excel at anything. I'd say he is on the more difficult side of survivors, and I think he's got a pretty unique and cool mechanic. That also makes him quite a fun survivor to play. As I said earlier he is kind of a hybrid, which is rare among the current survivor roster. He is the kind of character I would play if I didn't know what to play. I'm glad the developers added a unique interesting ability to the game, that really changes the way you play.
I think that Dante is alot better than people think, its just using him conventionally makes way more sense than using him as a infinite loop but I think that he has infinite potential because anytime there is elevation or a wall that seperates the lamp from the loop, he is unkillable in the area which forces the killer to go after someone else or waste all their time there. like at 35:00 this is the way I use dante because it just makes it so that dante can solo loop without any support from other surviviors. - Stats. The stat changes are honestly pretty reasonable, his repair stats were op and his loop stats weren't that bad for the revolutionary perk that comes with them, his repair was really high for someone with infinite potential, I never saw him as a stealth type character anyways so I don't think the composure being affected will change how people were playing him in the first place. - Playstyle. At first when I used him I saw him as a really good support for transitions for those who are new or just don't want to chase. His healing bonus' allows him to be a really good heal and heal support where he can aid in other surviviors with higher healing stats. - Weakness. Polluted hard counters him if you don't know what you are doing along with emp and show if they catch you in a transition after breaking your lantern. His biggest weakness is his transition game and escaping chase. But other than that he doesn't have much weaknesses to exploit. In a tier list I would put him as a mid A for now as he is up there with nathan in looping capabilities, if not better and he is much better on gens than him too where he is basically an allrounder with no real weaknesses like you said, jack of all trades master of none, his perk is just so broken that I can see him getting another 2 massive nerfs, maybe they will come out with a new killer that can counter him like polluted just to balance the game out. If you remember the way I used rayner where I placed his shield infront of the car to create an infinite loop without vaulting, thats how I see dante, an infinite loop generator who excels where the better loop characters lack, both in healing and repair. All in all, he is going to break daybreak when he comes out and will get nerfed alot because he is just too revolutionary as a looper and a support.
Here's my opinion: The healing speed with lantern is really good, but, although is not often gamechanging, can actually work if killer's coming to a downed person, overall the healing is better than people give it credit for as the heal boost is for EVERYONE in lantern range, but it's not incredible or anything. His loop stats aren't great, that's true, but 1 lantern can help transition very well, or just let you preserve more stamina to run somewhere safer. Overall, for himself, it's still not incredible, but it's still decent. I honestly think his aura reading can be surprisingly useful. Of course his lantern's best use is placing it for other people to loop with, though there are problems, like killer finding it before a chase, plus if you place it somewhere, and then you get chased, although you can run to where you know it is, you're likely further away if you're using it to support others because you wouldn't want to be close to where you put it as, if a looping character like nathan comes, killer will switch to you. TLDR: I'd say he's not terrible in any category, but, as you said, he doesn't excel in anything either, I think a low B is fair, at the very least, he's quite fun.
when empress showed up I got confused cuz of the skin and when I read the desc I realized they were adding 3 more skins for her 😭 it feels like favoritism
yeah other killers that've been ingame for way longer still only having single digits in skins compared to empress after this update is crazy lol!! they could at least try not to make it blatant
Dante seems like a character thats either insane or absolutely useless depending on how you use him, which is awesome i think skill ceiling hell yeah lets go
Stareater maybe an upcoming killer (Starcaller's Antagonist) if you're planning to make a theory video about it. It has been mentioned in the game's loading screen saying "Stareater is watching..." or something very similar to it, I only managed to catch it right before my game began.
I'm pretty sure it's based off killers ping. That's why the host killed him at the end of that Clearwater match cuz on her screen he was much closer but on his he's farther away so the hit looks like it shouldn't have hit
Bro Dante’s lantern is not good, like it gives you a speed boost which is good and can help you loop the killer until they just rage but. Why did they make it kickable? I know it’s for the fact that a 25% speed boost lantern is op but atleast make it so for. 30 seconds of being placed it can’t be kicked, this makes it so Dante doesn’t just you know place lantern and it ultimately gets wasted, and make it so he can’t pick it up until 10 seconds after it’s unkickable is gone

The skill gap im seeing is immense.
THE ANCIENT ONE????
@@rafaelrafa4382 THAT'S CRAZY! IT'S THEANCIENTONE!
43 likes and 3 replies lemme fix that
It's da man, da taco man.
28:35 the fact that the Idol didn't just walk down the stairs to cut off a perk-less Dante and with no vaults nearby to transition to is crazy bad.
when empress showed up I got confused cuz of the skin and when I read the desc I realized they were adding 3 more skins for her 😭 it feels like favoritism

Dante is a free infinite loop generator

i keep rewinding 25:54 cuz no way that hit
26:18 AYY I was in this game! I was the one who bled out on first down lmao

as someone who loops as gabrielle i really love low stamina characters like dante and looping with them and showing it’s possible!!
Getting featured in a nowords video is crazy
No words you could round it up to 40-
Nah i fr thought the Yronica was me but then I realized. "Wait, I don't have Yronica in the PTS..." (same display name that's why [Jonas main])
Can you do one with Amari I just need Amari clips lmao
random question: but what's your average ping in these? usually killers in my games reach me from a mile away on 70 ping.
Could be wrong, but I believe hits are usually based on the killer's side, not your own, so it usually depends on their ping
I'm pretty sure it's based off killers ping. That's why the host killed him at the end of that Clearwater match cuz on her screen he was much closer but on his he's farther away so the hit looks like it shouldn't have hit
in the pts im usually in chicago servers which gets me around 50 ping
I don’t have him in Daybreak 2..
He's not out yet. They're are in the testing server.
do yall have any tips for a begginer? (i wanted to try playing w my friends but im still not sure if i can do it.)

who is this dante guy and why is he everywhere i look
28:19 thats really smart, making the killer think youre stuck and hitting early 😦 i dont believe in my skill enough to try something like that
