- Humanitarian (adj) - involved or connected with helping people who are living in very bad conditions or suffering because of war or natural disaster; connected with improving people's lives and reducing suffering.
Humanitarian (n) - a person who does help others to improve their lives and reduce their suffering.
Exp: Humanitarian aid in the form of food supplies;
The humanitarian crisis in Sudan as thousands try to leave.
She was regarded by many as a compassionate humanitarian.
- Civilian (n) - a person who is not a member of the police or the military or the armed forces; a person who has a civil job, not in the armed forces.
Exp: Several civilians were caught in the crossfire during the fight.
About five hundred civilians have been killed so far in the capital, Khartoum - Sudan, according to the UN.
- Ceasefire (n) - an agreement to stop fighting; a period of not fighting, usually between 2 armies.
Exp: The ceasefire was held for 2 weeks.
To declare a ceasefire - to announce officially or publicly about the ceasefire.
A 72-hour ceasefire was agreed from Monday.
- Blindside (v) - to surprise someone, usually with harmful results.
Exp: The recession blindsided a lot of lawyers who had previously taken for granted their comfortable income.
Diplomats have been blindsided by the humanitarian crisis in Sudan. It was a big surprise for them.
- Catastrophic (adj) - causing sudden and very great harm or destruction.
Exp: A catastrophic storm made landfall on US soil.
- Conflagration (n) - a large fire; a large and violent event that causes a lot of damage, involving a lot of people.
- Exodus (n) - a going away of many people.
Exp: UN warns of the catastrophic conflagration in Sudan as foreign exodus accelerates.
1) worst-case scenario (n) - worst situations possible. (opp) best-case scenario.
Exp: The worst of worst-case scenarios' Western diplomats blindsided over Sudan crisis.

BBC was blaming Turkey when Turkey supported Tripoli government. It exactly said "see how foreign powers are feeding war" while critisising Turkey's "ghost" ships "caught" breaching EU's weapon embargo to Libya. The said embargo was working pretty one sided, as Hafter's Wagner army was getting supplies, tons of ammunition, weapons via Sisi Egypt. If Turkey didnt support UN recognized government, rebels would wipe out Tripoli in hours.
This Hafter army supported by Russia, UAE, France, Greece and somehow by Germany, was cooperating Sudenese rebels for illegal human, drugs, and arms traffic.
Now Hafter forces are shipping soldiers, arms and ammunition to rebel group in Sudan.
BBC is really very neutral btw :))
