Really enjoying these videos. I was the Walton kids age when the series was first run, and still return to it and get much enjoyment and comfort. I started with the Homecoming, and was a regular watcher. When I was about 12 years old I had gotten a bad grade on a recent report card, and my punishment was "no TV for a week" during the first airing of The Burnout. Judy,. Thanks for doing this. It helps us see the reality of the show in the life of the depression years. My mom was one of EIGHT kids which their parents (a barber and a homemaker) during that time. My mom was a "Rosie the riveter" during the war.

I also enjoy seeing actors who went on to have their own successful careers after this time. Walton's was the springboard for many! Enjoy these videos and insights. God Bless!
Hi Judy, I've always wondered which was a closer account of earl hamners real life the book or the series? I love the waltons I have season 1 through 8 and pretty much have worn them out. If there is nothing to watch on television well it becomes a waltons night.☺
THANK YOU Judy (and your director friend) for answering a question I always wondered about. As usual your videos are great! RX: Just keep up the good work.
Ms. Judy, you lived and still enjoy living a very busy and interesting life. This is the reason for your happiness and success. And this is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing all important news with your fan community. We love you.
Judy, had to share. An episode of Bewitched is on (MeTV) and Will Geer is playing George Washington. I had forgotten about this one. He not only nails it, he looks like he's having fun. Surely, one of the best episodes of this show. I bet he was a hoot and a handful on set. Loved Grandma and 'the grandfather 💞 !
I would love to see more reunion episodes made to catch up with the characters and to say good bye to those we lost after the show ended. Is there a chance this could happen?
Wow you guys worked hard with little breaks seeing as you had to return to school during the hiatus from filming! Many shows start filming for the season in August so at least kids get a bit of summer time off from work and school.
I ditto everything that It's me RC wrote :D . It's really nice getting to know a part of Judy Norton outside of Mary Ellen Walton, although we love Mary Ellen too :)
I remember watching the Waltons and wanting to be in your family so bad, but next best thing was watch each episode, love the show so much, my Parents watched it they loved it too. Great Show!!
As I commented on another video of yours from Dec, I always thought "The Homecoming" is absolutely one of the best Christmas movies of all time and unfortunately, it's rarely - if ever - played during the Christmas season. The scene with you and John-boy in the barn is a real gem but then, so is the entire movie :)
Excellent post Judy. Your sharing of information and letting us know what each of the technical members did is greatly appreciated. And thank for sharing the photo's of you jumping with your horse. Love them, but never did what you did...closest I ever got was riding one of those store electrical ponies at a quarter a shot....Thank you again so much....love watching your posts!
Thank God waltons are still available on dvd and on RUclips. That way we can watch them again. One of my fsbr episodes . . . How can you pick just one ? Is the longest night where grandma goes into the hospital and grandpa makes a nuisance of himself at the hospital. Mary Ellen has to giv him a little setdown.
Thanks again, Judy! A couple of days ago I was channel flicking and ran across the episode where the lady came to find you and tell you Curt was alive. Then poor Jonesy! So much heartbreak in this show. That was hurtful to watch, not just this episode but all that involved Curt being alive. Was this hard for you to play? You certainly did an amazing job of looking torn. 💜
Always want to know what a grip was. Thanks for answering that question. Love listening to your answers to everyone's questions. I've been catching up on them today. As I have fallen behind. Wish you would consider making a series with the waltons and how there families have grown with the issues and lessons of today. We need more good shows like Waltons and Little house and love comes softly series. They have alot of lessons to teach and learn from. Thanks again Judy.
Hi Judy, can you explain "I had to keep my grades up to keep my work permit." ? And, how was your experience transitioning back to a regular school environment.
People under a certain age need a special permit to work ( child labor laws to stop forced child labor ) to keep the permit you must attend school ( another law ) and be passing.
To work in Movies and TV you had to have a work permit if you were under 18. To get and keep a work permit you had to maintain a minimum grade point average, I think above a C - but might have been higher. So, I couldn't be failing any classes and have the school okay my work permit. Transitioning back to my own school was a complete pain :)
One of my favorite episodes was on today, the one where they were racing the other lumber co to get the railroad contract and the old man tricks the other guys into floating their lumber down the river full of sandbars!!!😂😂😂
Thanks Judy for another informative segment. I know Ralph and Richard have directed some episodes. What was that facet like for the rest of the cast? Also, how does that crossover work for the scenes they’re also in?
Enjoyed this Ms Judy, you are awesome, yur part of my family i feel like, my family was large and like the Waltons, i surely felt a very close connection to my growing up as i grew up with all of you, GOD bless !
Thanks Judy for a great insight into the making of the Waltons!! I always wondered about the music choices in the series and how it evolved and changed through the seasons. I remember that in season 8 and 9, the music changed so much and introduced synthesisers into the mix which was in keeping with the late 70's/early 80's music scene. Who were the composers of the music in the actual episodes??, not the theme as we all know that was the late fantastic Jerry Goldsmith. Best wishes from England😀👍!!
Interesting... as the music was all done as post production, I have virtually no insight into the why's or wherefores of those choices over the seasons.
Judy, I totally get not wanting to watch yourself. I can't stand having pictures taken of myself. You were and are so lovely, though, you have nothing to worry about!

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us Judy....I enjoy your posts!
Glad you like them!
Did you remember that Rose play another part on the Walton's as the Landlord for You and Erin when you left home to go out on your own?
Yes. You are correct.
Love listening to your videos and recollections
Glad you like them!
Hi Judy, I've always wondered which was a closer account of earl hamners real life the book or the series? I love the waltons I have season 1 through 8 and pretty much have worn them out. If there is nothing to watch on television well it becomes a waltons night.☺
Great question - probably the book. But there were definitely story lines, characters etc in the series that pulled from Earl's life.
THANK YOU Judy (and your director friend) for answering a question I always wondered about. As usual your videos are great! RX: Just keep up the good work.
Glad it was helpful!
Ms. Judy, you lived and still enjoy living a very busy and interesting life. This is the reason for your happiness and success.
And this is so beautiful.
Thanks for sharing all important
news with your fan community.
We love you.
Wow, thank you very much!
Thank you, Ms. Judy.
Your friend from Germany.
😀😀😀
You should have your own talk show. You are such a great communicator with a positive, calm yet interesting way of speaking to us.
Thank you so much. That would be fun.
Hi Judy. I'm a Judy too. I been watching you all in the 70s. I watched reruns all the time now even.
Ahh, so glad you enjoy them.- Yes I noticed- hi Judy.
Oh wow... what fun. I'll have to look for that episode.
Thank you for doing this
I love the tv show the walton's
I still watch it today
So happy to hear that.
I would love to see more reunion episodes made to catch up with the characters and to say good bye to those we lost after the show ended. Is there a chance this could happen?
No idea, but it would be lovely.
I like how you covered what some of the set crew does. Bob and Doug McKenzie referred to gaffers as “another species, eh”.
lol - some of the crew positions are fascinating. And the names are equally fun - "gaffer", "grip" "Best boy"...
Wow you guys worked hard with little breaks seeing as you had to return to school during the hiatus from filming! Many shows start filming for the season in August so at least kids get a bit of summer time off from work and school.
So true!
I love your videos ❤️
So happy to hear that.
Were you ready for the show to end when it did, or would you of liked to go on?
A bit of both. I felt the show and run its course, but I so loved doing it that it was bittersweet.
I can’t even imagine. It’s extra special that you all did the reunion movies!!❤️
Thanks again Judy!❤️
Thanks Judy! Love from the Nederlands!
Wonderful!
I ditto everything that It's me RC wrote :D . It's really nice getting to know a part of Judy Norton outside of Mary Ellen Walton, although we love Mary Ellen too :)
Thank you!
Judy, thanks so much for your videos! You are doing a FANTASTIC job! Please continue to do them.
Thank you so much!
I remember watching the Waltons and wanting to be in your family so bad, but next best thing was watch each episode, love the show so much, my Parents watched it they loved it too. Great Show!!
Thanks so much.
Thanks Judy 🌼🌸🌼
You're welcome.
Yes, for many years my family would watch that one over the holidays!
Great stuff Judy, guestion would you do the Waltons again at the age you are now, or another series, or is writing and directing more fun. 🇨🇦🐘🍁❤
Wow... The Waltons was such a great experience that I would do a series like this again. But I also love writing and directing.
You are so welcome!
I agree... it’s tough for me to pick just one favorite :)
Thank you so much. It was a challenging episode to film.
Love it
Always want to know what a grip was.
That would be wonderful.
Hi Judy, can you explain "I had to keep my grades up to keep my work permit." ? And, how was your experience transitioning back to a regular school environment.
Did you have a regular graduation ceremony
@@barbfrank917 Mary Ellen had a graduation from nursing school with Curt capping her🌷🌷
@@janeiwasduncan8463 yes, I remember that, I was asking about real life, did she graduate from regular high school with her class
Makes sense! Grips grip the furniture, or furnishings !
🥰
One of my favorite episodes was on today, the one where they were racing the other lumber co to get the railroad contract and the old man tricks the other guys into floating their lumber down the river full of sandbars!!!😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Judy for another informative segment. I know Ralph and Richard have directed some episodes. What was that facet like for the rest of the cast? Also, how does that crossover work for the scenes they’re also in?
Great question - I'll see about taking that up.
Enjoyed this Ms Judy, you are awesome, yur part of my family i feel like, my family was large and like the Waltons, i surely felt a very close connection to my growing up as i grew up with all of you, GOD bless !
Thanks so much
Thanks Judy for a great insight into the making of the Waltons!!
Thank you - that’s very kind of you to say.
I always remember yancy Tucker and the dew drop inn. Every small town had a yancy Tucker.
Such a fun character.
My favorite part of the Walton's are the goodnights at the end of the show.
Yes - so sweet.
Luv&Peace all,
Judy so glad your enjoying doing these amazing vlogs and they are attached to such amazing memories for us ! ⚘ Thanks so very much, appreciate your efforts and amazing quality content!
