- Transformers introduced Optimus Prime in 1984 as the leader of the Autobots who believed that freedom is the right of all sentient beings. That original toy is one of the most sought-after and reissued figures of all Transformers. Takara-Tomy took this classic and improved upon it. Taking the original design, they gave him far better articulation and features while maintaining many of the Generation One version's look and design. Captain Kyle checks out the anime edition in detail.
The Missing Link Masterpiece Optimus Prime comes in two models. The C-01 includes a trailer and is modeled after the original toy. The C-02 is more animation accurate with some deco changes that match it more to the original G1 cartoon. Both are incredibly posable in comparison to the G1 Autobot Commander. This guy will definitely give Megatron and his Decepticons some trouble. Captain Kyle reviews it to see if this is something you’d like in your collection.

There are thigh swivels. They're just very tight and tough to move.
I love that they did this. I got all the way up to putting a yellow eyed one in the cart but I just couldn't buy more lol. I'll live vicariously through your videos I'm glad you got one. This is the version we all would have loved back in the day, I think a lot of getting Transformers back then was enjoying the vehicle modes and then seeing how stuck they were in poses was always a bit of a letdown. Especially when there were so many epic moments in the show people wanted to mimic. Chrome and rubber tires. Always love those shiny robots. Molded features where the stickers would be is a nice touch, being animated colours one would expect them to be same as the body like his feet and forearms.
There is another hinge at the shoulder too, so his arm can move further up.
Good to know. It's so weird having a "G1" Prime with so much articulation.
I would love to get the one with the trailer but to much so a basic G1 ko it is maybe my first Aliexpress order
Even as a G1 prime. I would have liked his bumper to have been movable.
Apparently the stickers are only meant to use if you choose to…CO-2 came without to make him more Anime..
In my head if he has his axe and Megatron has his mace they always had but both just used it once
I love mine, I never put the stickers on. I do love that the decals are painted on in the c-01.

You should have gotten the one with a trailer; one more trailer won't hurt you, especially since Prime isn't Prime without a trailer.
That piece is definitely a must buy for 2024! I got the anime colour too.

I just bought a KO G1 Optimus, with trailer, for 40 dollars. Even though I live in Japan and could have gotten this cheaper at Amazon Japan, I didn't bother because the gains don't reflect the arrogant pricing.
These are Takara's last ditch ploy to make some extra money after regular MPs haven't sold that well and are TLTL IMO.
Just decided to get this guy. If they're gonna release all the G1 toys like this with updated articulation I'm all in. Can't wait for them to get to Streetwise.
They just opened pre-orders for Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. I don't know that they'll do ALL of G1.
