The difference between Poole and Nembhard is Nembhard doesn’t need to score to be effective. He’s a very good defender and connective passer. He scores when he needs to but normally he’s just a team player that connects everyone.
That’s a pretty fair comparison. I think he’s likely to reach that level if he’s moved elsewhere. I have a feeling that he’d be putting up some serious numbers on a team like Orlando that desperately needs a player like him
The question about nembhard is will he shoot enough to be a really good player and will he take good shots. To me is not good enough to take the ball out of Haliburton hands. Pacers have to trade someone. Nembhard, Mathurin and Walker are all young and need to play or be traded for a 3rd star. Can’t win anything with Myles Turner as 3rd best pkayer
Not gonna lie, I love the idea of Bridges in Indiana. Or even OG Anunoby if the Knicks won't sign him back ( I hear he's asking for $35M a year, so they might not want to, but I'm not sure what their salary cap is like at the moment )
Liked your content. Pacers fan here who’s watched Nembhard all year. I think he rises to the moment and relishes that. So likely his numbers come back to some averages but the team could Give him more opportunity seeing how good he can be. The upside is the team can rely on him a bit more and some of his biggest mistakes were him forcing things which may improve as he matures and learns. One thing you maybe forgetting is the Pacers did not have Benedict Mathurin who was injured this run- the line was he may be our second breakout star at some point. As a driver and scorer he’s one of our best at creating his own but he’s still not passing or defending well Enough for the staff to trust him beyond the bench. He is Uber determines and confident - outwardly but I think Nembhard is just as much and both from Canada. So some healthy competition for who gets to be the other scorer beyond Hali and Siakum. Pacers love to share the ball but of course down to the playoffs it is important to know who your main guys are. Nembhard did a great job getting to the rim and upping his shot making. Those are also the sweet spots of Mathurin - maybe even better getting to the rim and drawing fouls - but weaker on defense.
