I am from the Philippines and I am proud of the natural resouces we have there. Thank you for featuring the Banaue Rice Terraces and respecting the environment and culture by virtue of seeking permission to wakeboard as it has never been done and will never be a wakeboard zone. However, this is a great way to show the beauty of this wonder of the world and hopefully will invite more tourism in the country. Mabuhay Philippines !!!

Awesome video! I live here in the Philippines and was thinking of the most perfect place for a cool wakeskate spot and this place never even crossed my mind. Great research and awesome set-up! No offense to those saying that Brian and his team disrespected the place of the natives, it is even showed on the video that they asked permission to perform in the land. Thanks for choosing The Philippines Red Bull and Brian.
Our fellow filipino friends where not clarified in doing this and thought it was disrespectful in doing this wakeskating . . There are some just like making rumors and YES we are really happy that they did promote our country as well in doing this vid :) Nothing totally wrong in this vid. . :)
This is a win for our tourism efforts deserving of everybody's support. After all, this is what we bloggers do, we write about the place so as to tell people it exist so as to entice them to also experience the joy we experience.
There's nothing wrong in this video, but amazing! And I'm so grateful that people from outside Phils. put their creativity to feature the beauty of our country. Whew! Why don't we just appreciate instead of citing despicable comments. Apparently, we are taking a free ride promoting our country. GROW UP, nonsense people!
Banaue, this is my province. And I don't see any problems doing that thing, especially that they asked permission to it's owner also it promotes the tourism in that place, it's the mines view park, banaue.
This is a true talent! I don't feel offended by this video or advertisement. I think this one can actually attract more tourist in Banaue. If you see the video, how it shows the beauty of of rice terraces, the perfect view of the RT, He even shows the culture and life of our natives, for me the main goal is to promote tourism. Job well done to everybody specially to Brian Grubb :)

The Terraces they've Wakeboarded are limited. If they've surved like five enclaves down, then it would be more thrilling to watch.

Has anyone of you done anything for the Philippines? Promote tourism etc? I bet... never! Better shut up & enjoy. Time to stop the crab mentality

Ehemm ... The people had been explained that it's a commercial by Red Bull. and they're blessed by the natives to do it. Red Bull meant no disrespect to the natives there, the video just emphasized that extreme Red Bull can be anywhere and can still perform. If they'd only knew that the Real forefathers of those natives are Fierce Head Hunters centuries ago, ala Apocalypto, I guess the Wakeboarders will have Chills in there haha.
This was so awesome! Introducing the wonders of the Philippines. There's nothing disrespectful on it. It is God's creation and we should be proud of it.. It's an invitation for a tourism around the world. Banaue Rice Terraces is now viral worldwide... Keep it up!
I rely love the Vdeo, it motivate and remind young people to embrace and love mother nature through modern sports just like this, I'm not saying that we will change the rice terraces into a wakeboarding spot, but the passion of these young people for nature and xtreme sport that lead them to come a long way here in the Philippines is somewhat reminded us how rich and beautiful our country is. It's todaly awsome that they promote our country's almost forgotten wonder.

The interesting thing is the company behind this stunt gets their wealth from a world renowned energy drink - and guess where the original ingredients come from? Thailand...... the ingredients are similar to the Malaysian aboriginal drink called Tongkat Ali.
I am a nature lover and I've been in the beautiful Rice Terraces when I was a Kid, After watching this Video "Gusto kung umiyak sa kagalakan" They choose , research , respect and help us in a SIMPLY WAY to promote the BEAUTY of THE PHILIPPINES ... sabi nga Commercial Purpose lang, di naman sinabing after nito eh mag papa Wake-skating na in PUBLIC sa tuktok ng Rice Terraces ... That was a single event, and took care off all "play" in my life. Have a blast once!!! - not at the expense of anyone or anything. I'm not a redbull drinker, but I might try one now. Maybe two!!!

"It's just so kind of amazing thing and it is just humbling to be up here in the mountains and to see this and now to have permission to ride it has been just amazing"
not ugly for me, its actually encouraging us to look again in this long forgotten treasure and culture, have you seen anything destroyed? if u really want to save this world wonder start by looking to those informal settlers around it, and then ask urself again.. WHATS THE PROBLEM?, since when did started to care? just bcoz u saw it now on youtube?? and was there any time that I chose the terraces over a single waterfalls in Singapore, or with that walking mouse on some amusement park in HK?
Great!!!awesome scenery!! The department of tourism should follow this kind of promotion not just trash talk...its really more fun in the philippines when people do things outside the box...not just showing what they can do but doing more than they can imagine.....
Tourism is indeed important for the local economy, but we need to respect these terraces as ancestral gifts bestowed to the people in this region. It is their sacred honor to maintain and cultivate them. Having the two lady farmers plant the Red Bull logo on this highest terrace while getting splashed on crossed the line.
this was good!, makes our Banaue Rice Terraces to be most known wonder in the world and also as tourist magnet,,Please dont mind those who says , this was disrespecting. Ang ganda ng Video nakakaproud....proud o be pinoy!
My dad's from that place and he liked what they did. The reality is that the Ifugao rice terraces' tourism is going down, it's not a top priority tourist destination anymore. We should thank this team who water skated at the rice terraces cause this might attract potential visitors/tourists... and yeah, they got permission from the mumbaki and by the looks of it, nothing was destroyed/ruined in the terraces.
Lol people, how can you not just appreciate this beautiful video? It's awesome!Mas magpasalamat pa nga tayong mga pinoy dahil mas makikilala ang kagandahan ng Pinas dahil dito.Mas uunlad ang turismo ng Pinas.Do you guys think all these people who viewed this video ay alam na nila na may Rice Terraces tayo dito sa ating bansa? At least diba, dahil sa video na ito nakaka ideya na sila na may nakatagong yaman ang Pilipinas and I dont think they violated any laws here. Just appreciate, love and like.:)
Im happy as part of this country as filipino .. well its a good shut for us.. na marami pa palang nabibighani sa mga katangi tangi ng pinas... mabuhay ang mga pinoy
It's awesome!!! For some people, they may say that it's a disrespect to the culture but I don't think so. In the first place, they asked permission. They won't do such things if they weren't permitted to do so. Just need to open your mind. Now, you can't promote such a beautiful place without the help of other people. Evolution always comes!
love it..may permission naman pala eh.they do promote this amazing place of ours..truly a paradise..breathtaking..bnalik balikan ko tung place na to when i was in college..one of the best..
We all agree that tourism means jobs to locals. We have to support it then. This video would generate more exposure to Banaue Rice Terraces in a few months time than me (for example) blogging my whole lifetime. I can delete my blog in support of this video. This is brilliant. And why haven't we thought about it? I think we need to be more creative.
No disrespect here. All angles were clearly thought of before proceeding with the shoot. Nice vid and concept. Thanks for helping our country advertise one of our wonders. Guess all those blabbering mouths were just left unfed when the bribes were given out haha kudos brian grubb kudos red bull. One proud Filipino here sending our gratitude
im 100% Noypi and i see nothing wrong about this vid...it makes me even more proud to be a Filipino knowing that the white guy in the vid was so amaze to see one of the the Philippines' treasure the BANAUE RICE TERRACES☺☺☺ the thing is.... SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST TO WIDE FOR SOME NARROWMINDS (y)
We know it's not a playground but looking on with them consulting a mumbaki you sense they had a respect on the place (more than we do or the gov't that we tend to forget this heritage with letting houses booming in the hill of the terraces)...lets get over with being negative....I found it more than the cool thing, its kind of placing your shoes with them and it feels like more than the thrill-seeking ride...its more of life accomplishment..you feel the chills on how they present the video
YES THIS IS VERY HELPFUL IN PROMOTION,,, NO DAMAGED OCCUR, NO ONE WAS DISTURB. COME TO BANAUE APPRECIATE THE "NATURE" CULTURE AND ADVENTURE" DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH,,,,
I personally think that this event was awesome, not even remotely offensive. For several reasons: they did this activity during off-agricultural season; they asked for our elders' permission; and they secured the LGU's approval. They even performed a 'baki', which is a traditional practice for seeking blessings and permission from our dead ancestors when carrying out an event. I wouldn't think that any plant, animal or person were ever harmed during the activity. And BTW, I'm proudly Ibannawor.
Banaue is one of the most beautiful places I've been... This should be the last wakeboarding in the terraces... There are other ways to promote tourism and enjoy the scenery... peace
wakeskating po pala hehe. ay naku bahala na kayo, basta may wake...ang mahalaga naipakita yung ganda at maikling kasysayan ng banaue. Kainis nga lang may mga 'nega.' Kahit paulit-ulit pa siang panoodin. So fab !!! it's Fun-tastic!!!
After that, you can say that Ifugaos changed their way of life and even started to head out to the lowlands. Some still stayed in order to man the job of looking after our native lands. Now let me tell you a bit about the process of rice planting. First of all, you can see in the video that they are stepping on the rice fields. You sort of think that that is ruining the terraces, but it is quite the opposite. Before planting can begin, they need to sort of plow the fields using either-
hi Rowell, what you mean by " Banaue Rice Terraces are not a UNESCO World Heritage Site...." doesn't mean that banaue is not a heritage site. Batad and Bangaan are under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Banaue but are not referred to as the Banaue Rice Terraces. The Banaue Rice Terraces are however a National Cultural Treasure under Ifugao Rice Terraces. Batad Rice terraces and Bangaan which is under Banaue Town are considered as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Superb!! you, my man, are one lucky guy. the first to ride the rice terraces. two thumbs up for this video. mabuhay Philippines and Red Bull!!!
Cool! This way can give us positive impact around the world. Pinoys are hardworking people
It's awesome!!! For some people, they may say that it's a disrespect to the culture but I don't think so. In the first place, they asked permission. They won't do such things if they weren't permitted to do so. Just need to open your mind. Now, you can't promote such a beautiful place without the help of other people. Evolution always comes!
I agree that nothing is wrong with this guys doing.actually they are promoting our wonders here in our country.I think that's amazing.
this video is amazing and so are the songs!
love it..may permission naman pala eh.they do promote this amazing place of ours..truly a paradise..breathtaking..bnalik balikan ko tung place na to when i was in college..one of the best..
One proud Filipino here sending our gratitude
this is sick. showing off how beautiful the philippines is (im filipino btw lol) and how sick their skills are.
This is absolutely cool :) there's nothing wrong with this as long as they asked permission.
im 100% Noypi and i see nothing wrong about this vid...it makes me even more proud to be a Filipino knowing that the white guy in the vid was so amaze to see one of the the Philippines' treasure the BANAUE RICE TERRACES☺☺☺ the thing is.... SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST TO WIDE FOR SOME NARROWMINDS (y)
this video makes me proud that im from PHILLIPINES!!
This is awesome 10 10 10 perfect 10!
We know it's not a playground but looking on with them consulting a mumbaki you sense they had a respect on the place (more than we do or the gov't that we tend to forget this heritage with letting houses booming in the hill of the terraces)...lets get over with being negative....I found it more than the cool thing, its kind of placing your shoes with them and it feels like more than the thrill-seeking ride...its more of life accomplishment..you feel the chills on how they present the video
wirklich sehr schöne aufnahmen! die selbe location umgesetzt als wasserpark wäre echt awesome. Sehr schön.

YES THIS IS VERY HELPFUL IN PROMOTION,,, NO DAMAGED OCCUR, NO ONE WAS DISTURB. COME TO BANAUE APPRECIATE THE "NATURE" CULTURE AND ADVENTURE" DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH,,,,
thank you for showing the world how beautiful our rice terraces keep it up sir
I personally think that this event was awesome, not even remotely offensive. For several reasons: they did this activity during off-agricultural season; they asked for our elders' permission; and they secured the LGU's approval. They even performed a 'baki', which is a traditional practice for seeking blessings and permission from our dead ancestors when carrying out an event. I wouldn't think that any plant, animal or person were ever harmed during the activity. And BTW, I'm proudly Ibannawor.
That place looks beautiful.
Redbull vids have awesome production.
Wow!!!i am just proud to be a
Banaueans!!!thank you red bull for promoting our hometown!this video is Awesome!!!!!love it!!!
amazing wakeskaters in a beautiful Rice Terraces...perfectly shot...
This is an awesome video! Thanks for visiting the Banaue rice terraces, red bull team!
that's showcase how wonderful are philippine..............
Banaue is one of the most beautiful places I've been... This should be the last wakeboarding in the terraces... There are other ways to promote tourism and enjoy the scenery... peace
Who cares if it's easy or not, it's fun and that's all that really matters man!
wakeskating po pala hehe. ay naku bahala na kayo, basta may wake...ang mahalaga naipakita yung ganda at maikling kasysayan ng banaue.
Before planting can begin, they need to sort of plow the fields using either-
PURE AWESOMENESS!!!
hi Rowell, what you mean by " Banaue Rice Terraces are not a UNESCO World Heritage Site...." doesn't mean that banaue is not a heritage site.
