I've been shopping for mid-range phone for few weeks and every search I do, your channel comes up. You've filled that void empty space left by mr.who, mkb, lew and others who gave up on mid-range and just do $1000+ devices. It's awesome you're doing this and keep it up.
I have one of these, must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The actual phone feels incredibly premium (so much so I hate using my case because it takes away from the experience but I know I'm inclined to dropping my phones frequently), sound and camera is good, although for the camera it did struggle a lot with fast movement shots but makes up for it with a wide range of modes courtesy of the numerous camera. I think my only real gripe with it is that because it's quite a new brand, I've struggled to find cases in the UK for it. By far, the best part of this phone is the screen, fitting since it's made by a television company, the screen is incredibly good for watching films, etc. Battery is okay, I've left it for two days without using it and found that it still was awake (around 16% battery). Plus, just a quirk - it has an infrared emitter installed in the phone so it can be easily used as a remote for several things.
Screen is amazing especially with the nxt vision software. I also have had a ton of trouble find a decent slim case for the phone. The included one is a bit bulky for me
I have bought 5 of these, 4 of them needed a charging port replaced within 6 months. One of them now looses all internet connection (wifi and data) when charging. The phones are great though you can disable that assistant buttons functionality i did it for all of them but it takes some messing about. Screens very durable and and its a little power house. I'd advise getting an extra SD card, i have a 512gb card. The speaker does get weaker after a year ir two and the display now has some screen burn along the notification bar and lower android button bar but it's not terrible after 2 years of daily use. The cameras however are absolutely phenomenal.

Follow up... in terms of the side swiping by mistake, the recent update has given you the option to define the boundary of the screen. Additionally, the screen is bright but during daylight it can be a little hard to see. Overall still good!
I just brought mine and i love it,the look and feel of a premium phone without the premium price tag, and a good android spec,only thing i find is the battery drains quite fast,but i brought it 2nd hand so I expect that

Tesco have them in for £120 but there's a couple of things you said will probably do my head in. Especially the one about getting the camera going quickly! Yep, they've been manufacturing phones for third parties like Alcatel and BB for a while. Good to see them stepping out and doing their own thing, they've certainly learned a few tricks from past endeavors.

If you do another video on this you should tell people about the flashlight having 2 brightness settings... After you turn the flashlight on push on the flashlight again for a second or two and it gets brighter
Nice phone and cheap. ..but ONLY one year of updates. Did TCL mention that piece before you bought it? That changes a lot. Hopefully they fix everything before they don't.
It is a damn good phone, it was released in Australia for 750 last year and now 419 for mist green, not a perfect phone but damn it has got some punch, the curved screen got some getting used to, got the current price offered it's great

Jerry rig everything just did a durability test and he had that button changed to open up his camera, and double tap it to record. Definitely seems alot more useful then just having Google assistant. Probably just missed it in the settings.
It seems to be location based. I got this in Ireland today (15/07/20) and it updated to the latest version but still no added functionality for that button which is annoying. Also, the recents jumps to the first open app rather than the app you are using, which is annoying. Good phone though otherwise, great display
The issue with this phone will be how long they actually support it with updates, so its great that it is cheap, it looks to be a decent mid ranked phone but if there are no security updates after a year then whats the point?
@Grave Digger 72if you game alot on your device or like watching video on a nice screen at maximum resolution, I wouldn't waste your time with that mobile, it will be a let down.

You CAN turn off convenience key to Google assistant via accessibility settings ...it's very easy to do ...

You can indeed turn it off but since android 11 landed on phone cannot see any way to remap the key for another app.

Yeah every other review has shown this. You can customize it to what ever app or given function and you can even disable the button

Does the in box case mitigate the palm problem with the screen?
You can definitely turn off the assistant button completely and can also remap it to other functions.
I can turn it off but not remap it since upgrading to android 11
Here in the UK it can only start Google Assistant and cannot be remapped so I have disabled it completely.
