Zappa was so polished and intellectual. And well-spoken and articulate too. Smart man.
The sad thing about Frank’s statements about MTV is that it got even more corporate than it already was.
My grandma once casually said "Oh Yeah, Frank Zappa - we used to have dinner with him and his wife sometimes." WHAT???? OMG
Brown lipstick is a reference to kissing A.
Frank is very handsome, not ugly
He always has just the right ratio of moustache/goatee to whatever his current hairstyle was, as well as his striking profile, made him a big hit with the ladies...I've heard him talk about the clap like it's nothing. That's honesty, my friends.
Such a staggeringly smart man.
I think there was more: not just intelligence but connection between mind and heart.
@@SonoSuono123 I agree. He had unassailable personal ethics, and he was a devoted husband and amazing father.
Zappa was the kind of man I always aspired to become. I just didn't have his immense and unique talents as a musician. But the stuff I am good at, I'm pretty damned good at.
So I try to be as much the Frank Zappa of my thing as he was of his, and I feel like that effort is good for me and the people who rely on me.
@@No-One-of-Consequence There is no need to become just like him.
Your intention is enough, if you pursue it honestly and clearly.
I wish you to be able to express the best of you, to become entirely yourself. ♥
@@SonoSuono123 I feel as though I’ve attained near-FZ-levels of achievement in my thing. It just isn’t musical.
I won’t go into what it is, just for the sake of privacy, but I give Frank a lot of credit for helping to turn me into who I needed to be in order to accomplish all of it. Even if you’re not a musician or a composer, Zappa was a fantastic example for anyone. If you apply the kind of devotion to what you do that he did to everything that attered to him it would be hard to avoid success.
And I made sure that a lot of people I mentored along the way got turned on to Frank Zappa for that very reason.
@@SonoSuono123 And you’re clearly attaining the highest level of humanity too. You’re very considerate. Thanks for that.
Smart, smart, smart man. I'm just repeating what is damn obvious.
Few people forgot the massive hit that was "Jamrag."
I was doing magic in montreal around 1982 or so. Frank was at the restaurant eating as i did my routine for him and his guest. My friend asked for his autograph. Frank started writing on the cloth napkin. The waiter said. Sorry sir. You can not do that. Frank said. F off as he threw the napkin and then signed the tablecloth and gave it to my friend. What a laugh.
So Zappa stole things too , got it
sounds like a dooooooooche!
@@donnanhuggler8451 Unlike Zappa you are not smart never mind.
@@petergedd9330
I may be totally wrong but I’m a fool.
A jamrag is basically a ladies period sanitary product.
Yeah....Yoko's nasty jamrag.
@@apexjoe4769 Having eye candy like Yoko hanging around constantly is always trouble with bands.
John thought your song was a jam lol
He thought his wife was a singer too lol

This video is wild. How is it that someone can figure out how to set up a youtube account and upload videos, yet lack the braincells to know how to download a video?
A video that was ripped from Worldwide Pants (Letterman's production company) stolen and posted on RUclips, then stolen again by a ham-fisted idiot using a hand-held camera to film a computer monitor, and then reposted here using a bunch of hashtags to catch attention, about a Zappa song that was stolen by John Lennon and re-released not giving the proper authors credit... /facepalm
#nailedit #stayfrosty #diy 😎
Because Lennon stealing is somehow better...
about a Zappa song that stole its title from a popular film/tv/pop culture character
@@williammickleham4599 is it the same tho? If my movie's name wasn't the thing (King Kong), then you could make the case that i'm stealing a title, but not the IP from the movie. But then you could say that Nirvana stole their name to a 60's band, and shouldn't be allowd to used. Apple Corps VS Apple Inc... These things do go to court, but that's why they go to court for. I mean The Doors took their name from a book.
Why are you so cranky?
Not cool John Lennon. Imagine there is no thieves. Isn’t hard to try.
L
Lennon did worst things tbf.
@@akirafelix3865 I'm not liking him more and more lol
The Beatles were garbage humans. Crowley being a main influence should've told you that.
@@mandybellep230so what
Zappa = 0 bullshit
Funny...sounds like John "used it for his purpose"
While excluding Frank's writing credit.
@@Matthew-mf6xgand renaming the song.
@@Aaron-zt5eesounds like his purpose.
I can't watch this, some fool couldnt download a RUclips video, so they just recorded a video on their laptop from their phone. LMAO. There are better quality versions of these interviews on RUclips. And make sure to actually download them..
It's funny how the first half of this video is about stolen music, when the video itself is a recording of someone else's youtube video... Which is a recording of an MTV interview. I just find it funny, no hate.
why would anyone want credit for that song?
Frank in Not ugly ..!
Zappa said that lipstick joke so many times, I guess he didn’t realize it wasn’t that clever
He was just sending a message to someone backstage.
Zapper never stopped crying about this ,First of all the song was Horrible. and Lennon didn't have to steal anything from anyone let alone Zappa . Are you kidding me.
You can't even put Zappa in the same sentence with the musician Lennon was . PERIOD !!!
Then why did he steal it?
Kkkkk thats was a good joke fela
listen to the regular Zappa version of the song
Oof
Fair enough he got his song stolen but I’m sure John Lennon didn’t need to steal his song. Why not get in touch to clear it up? Maybe there were wires crossed . . Seems pretty petty to go on a show n complain like this without talking to the person first, lol I’ve never seen someone so salty. He’s acting like he stole ‘ bohemian rhapsody ‘ from him n refused to acknowledge it
King Kong is as Much of a composition as Bohemian Rhapsody
Well I can tell you if you are dealing with a musician that’s exactly how they would feel. The artist is generally hypersensitive to any impropriety. Perhaps not at as vocal as Frank here publicly. But mess with a musician’s intellectual property you are likely to open Pandora’s box.
Seems even more petty to steal a song and change the name and refuse to credit the writer. Especially for a song on an album nobody listens to
I always thought Frank was being a hater here
Any musician would feel like that lol. I think he's awesome. No comparison in talent.
Not a hater, just a man with a justifiable opinion.
Any person would be a hater, when their own music and art was stolen, and used for a hag to scream in the background with zero acknowledgement to the original writer.
Yeah ? I’m a hater too .. fuck corporations and fuck what they’ve done to music, and now what they’ve done to the global economic reality.
I hope he sued Lennon as well
Because John Lennon's whole reputation rests on a live jam of King Kong
That's not the point . How do ppl take up for folks that do foul shit
Zeppelin stole music wholesale too....doesn't take away from their talent...but it's indisputable.
Adam Smith No one implied that you idiot.
So then why steal it in the first place? Theft is theft
But did Zappa get permission from King Kong creator Merian C. Cooper to use the name "King Kong"?
Public Domain. Do better.
@@mephistophelesgoestowork4368 what do you mean "do better"? Ask better questions?
@@itconqueredtheworldsmith4053 Ah ok cool, thanks!
Over the years my respect for John Lennon has diminished and diminished.
Did he say after being called ugly he was surprised john wasn’t shot by all of this? Shake my head and call me dumb founded. These worlds are really going to heck faster than a skunk pulling fence rows in Tulsa. Great song btw.
He said “shocked”
Can you imagine Frank Zappa being Johns killer in NYC, because of Jamrag?
What a load of crap...Jamrag is a mess and king kong is a funky jazz song. Both never made it anywhere so who cares if one sounds a little like the other.
They don't just sound alike...the Mother's are literally playing King Kong while John and Yoko sing and play feedback over it.
@Paul B. yea who cares that someone is trying to pass someone else’s work off as their own right down to renaming it and giving the illusion that they wrote it
Much ado abt nuffin. If If I can be Frank, I'd be damn glad someone took "credit" 4 this steaming peace o' H.S.
The worst song from either Artiste!!!
Your clutching at straws Frank... maybe a bit bitter you never got as big as lennon
John Lennon was an overrated crappy musician name a song that influenced others the Beatles songs were sHiTe
John Lennon was a wife beating song thief. So I think frank was happy to not be anything like him.
You would be bitter too if someone stole your music if you were lesser known
Yeah but i heard both songs... they not really the same... and they certainly not money making tracks
@@GodWeenSatan i seriously think it was the label. everyone in the world new it was king kong as it came out much earlier. was it right? no. but why wait til lennon dies to come out on it? jamrag was terrible. yoko screaming makes me cringe. if i were zappa, i wouldn’t want my name on it anyway 😅 but no matter how it happened, his name should have been on there
John Lennon was much talented than Frank Zappa.
wrong 😑
@@PschyoSupposeiam Frank Zappa is a fraudster who stole musical ideas from Captain Beefhart.
Frank is beautiful. His music makes the Beatles look like a joke.
Uhm I’m not sure that’s the point ..
FZ & His Bands have always been more technically sophisticated by far, but that doesn’t mean more simplistic music is inferior necessarily
