I'm not jealous of money, wealth or such things. But when I see your experiences together, I am. Sorry! I still I give it to you both and hope you have much more of those together. Greetings from Belgium. Plus I heard at the last of the vid Brian has mental health issues. I'm not on ig but this one thing helped me a lot. Happiness is defined by your depths. You can't appreciate the top, if you haven't been to your lowest depths. Than you really know what happiness is. Enjoy the little moments! You get there for sure.
@@KrystaNorwick that's good to hear! And yes the cliché of what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Is as big of a cliché as it is a truth. Since someone told me does words (previous message) I don't see, lets call it "misery", as something bad. But as a chance for a learning experience. Turning the bad thing in something good. Than I started to realize how lovely life is. And it started to sink in I could get 1000y old and still keep evolving and learning through the world that's constantly changing, even faster than ever. Good luck on the next adventure and i love the vibes you 2 give in the vids!
Great video you guys, thanks for taking us along with you to enjoy your summit success. I love that you share a few moments of camp set up as well as the hike, so many don't include that and I always enjoy seeing what others bring along. Have fun on your next adventure.
Cool video guys. Not gonna lie watching Brian go up that scramble in the fog reminded me of our relaxing jaunt up Mt Cameroon. Glad you guys took it easy heading up there, a 60 day drought on the island this year made water a scarace commodity. Have fun in the Yukon, can't wait to see what you guys are up to next!
Steve wants to know where you got such a big green screen! But seriously, it almost didn't look real as you were hiking back. So gorgeous! Congrats to you both! Big accomplishment! We have a hard enough time not getting lost on more heavily traveled trails. We would have gotten lost for sure where you were. Lol!
Great video, as always. Congratulations on the ascend! I was hoping you could clear something up for me and other noobs, when you have a moment or perhaps in a dedicated “how to” video. The school of thought I am familiar with says to wear above-ankle high boots to prevent strains. I noticed you choose to wear something more of a trail running shoe. I believe in the gear video Krysta mentioned those offering a better feel of the soil than the standard hiking boot. Is that the only benefit? Is the “ankle stabilization” feature not as good as advertised? Would be great to get you insight on that. Cheers!
Did that hike/climb only once, which ended up in a failure due to poor route picking once up on the Hinde itself. That fail has been an itch in me ever since that day. I dream of bringing people with me there and making them experience the absolute raw beauty of that hike… One day, I’ll return, now that I know my mistakes, and will get on top that stupid tiny 2200 meters “hill” ;) Best hike of Vancouver Island, better than west coast trail
Lucas! You absolutely MUST attempt this hike again! It will always nag at you until you achieve it I'm sure. It is one of the most deceivingly difficult summits I have ever climbed. The approach can really take a lot out of you. Wishing you the best of luck whenever you make it out to this hike again!
I don't have my route specifically, sorry! I just used the public route on Gaia GPS and it was quite accurate. There is a layer you can download of anyone's public route and I followed that roughly. I also took photos of the Strathcona Park hiking book to reference for some of the sections. I also have quite a good memory when it comes to routes and this was my second time up, so I remembered the cruxes.
Awesome job guys!!!!!
Awesome!!!

The crux, the class 4 section was just above that loose section right?
That's exactly right. Have you hiked the Hinde as well or are you planning to go up it?
Great video. Do have the the gpx route available to share?

Hi! What time of year did you do this hike?
I think it was maybe august? I can’t recall exactly, sorry!
