The Jordan Poole Problem!

  • Remember when James Harden got traded to the Houston Rockets from OKC after having a successful 6th Man of the Year campaign. Remember how no one expected the leap he would take as a superstar in the NBA and would shock the world with how talented he was when he was the leader on his own team.And year after year he became one of the best players we have ever seen in his prime.That is who Jordan Poole thinks he is but he is most definitely not even close to taking that leap.Jordan Poole has been a player that I have seen people talk about a lot recently but is all for the wrong reasons and we have to address the issues here.

    The comparison never made sense to me because James harden was a top 3 pick, him becoming a superstar was not a surprise necessarily. Jordan was the 28th pick, not even a similar comparison

    • @therocklau
      @therocklau 6 месяцев назад +9

      Yup, and people seem to forget, Harden way before the OKC rise, went toe to toe on offense against Kobe in a amateur game, that's when he got famous and thought "might be the next guy after D-wade", when Kobe can't shut you up (he might not try the hardest but common, we know Kobe, he won't let someone score easy either, to score many on Kobe you are at least a top dog), well that says things.

      It makes sense when you think about the nba landscape. The loudest fans are the youngest/dumbest. Content creators and the media will appeal to these people to drive views. Kids love Poole and they’ve never seen okc or even prime harden. “It was only a few years ago” yeah and those kids were in elementary school.

    Poole got the ring and bag, and it went to his head. Then he goes to a team where he's in control, so even more ego boost. Plus, it's a losing team full of immature players like Kuzma. So it's like a classroom with a substitute teacher. Poole's main issue in a word... Immaturity. #StephCurryIsTheGOAT

  • @grominwithrob1339
    @grominwithrob1339 6 месяцев назад +41

    Everyone had huge expectations. Poole thought he was already there. People were talking of his potential, he still needed to be humble and put in his work. That ring is probably more of a curse. Just cause you rode on the Curry bus doesn't mean you can drive it. He really needed to have more time under an OG that could guide and build him. He's a baby still. I hope he figures it out.

      This is part of the problem I had with him I’d watch his games and wondered where people got that he’s the next steph curry. Every time I watched him he looked soo sloppy and a hot and cold scorer with even curry on the floor with him. I saw him as just a good scorer and that’s it he doesn’t have a great handle he has some range but doesn’t knock down like curry does and he barely moves good off ball like curry idk where those comparisons came from besides him shooting decent.

      @@fobinc OMG yes, I had my breaking point when he got the 2nd tech in the game against the Cavs. Had he not been being Draymond by yelling at the ref and got the first tech, that 2nd would not have gotten him ejected, causing us to lose that game. When I saw him fly and latch on to Rudy, then started pulling him, I stood up and turned my TV off, said I'm done with him and went to bed. Klay needs to figure out how to block out the noise, except the pay cut and maybe even be willing to play a lesser role. We have to accept that the league is full of athletic youngsters and if we are going to compete seriously, Kuminga Moody and Davis need consistent playing minutes.💯💯

    Warriors fans need to stop pleasuring themselves by beating up on Poole. Poole has his problems, lack of maturity and focus to name a few but GSW is missing his abilty to score. At this moment there's not a player on GSW's team other than Curry averaging more than Poole is now with all his bad play. Furthermore if you dont blame Green for having a part in the breakup of Poole and GSW youre only spewing hate. Steve Kerr, and Curry didnt do enough to discipline Green after the punch which is why he's still acting up today. Poole has moved on and doesn't talk about the Warriors maybe it's time the Warrior fans do the same about him.

    I'm a die hard Dubs fan as well. I wouldn't say we "suck," per se. But we're definitely not gelling like we were in the first 6 games. We need to find that chemistry and get back to playing Warrior's basketball. Either way, Poole definitely has the talent and the skill. But he's lost his work ethic that got him there. He's openly admitted that he and his family are set for life and now he can play "no pressure" basketball. He's not trying anymore. He's just going to enjoy the ride and coast until he either doesn't want to play, or can't play. So, unfortunately, I doubt he'll ever live up to the potential he actually has. He wants to be "Him." But he's not. Nowhere close.

      I wouldn't say minimize his time, but demote him to being a 3rd scoring option. He's quite combo guard. He starts along side Ty Jones, so he can focus on scoring. When Jones is out, he can facilitate the offense. But he's trying too hard on offense, forcing shots instead of opening up shots to Washington plethora of shooters.

Literally everybody I heard from thought Poole was paid too much, that his contract was fucking crazy and that the Warriors were lucky to be able to move him so soon after he signed it. And that the Wizards made so much sense for him, because now he can be a scorer for them without having to worry about whether or not he's actually good; he can score and whether or not his scoring is actually impactful towards winning, whether or not he does anything other than that, doesn't matter because the Wizards are always terrible and never competitive, so who cares?

    He had his 5 mins of fame in GS because Steph and Klay but its apparent by Kerr's demeanor that Poole grew overconfident and started running his own plays and thus, took bad shot after bad shot and after the Dray thing, the rest of the crew distanced themselves from JP.

    Poole, the person, who knows, i don't know him. But, Poole's game, man, I hate it. I am not gonna lie. I hated it when he was on GS. I liked some of his playoff play during our championship year, but that might be the Jordan Poole career high watermark. What Poole has become, I blame on Bob Myers. He didn't have to pay him. Just let him play another year, and match if you need to. But, that poisoned and killed the following year. Yeah, Draymond Super man punched him -- which Poole needed more of. But, it didn't knock sense into him. Somehow, he got worse! Anyway, as a diehard GS fan, I am glad he's gone. We'll figure it out, and be better. Curry missed some games as did Draymond, which are probably our two best players. That said, Klay and Wiggins need to be better on a day-in and day-out manner.

    Jordan poole got easy buckets cuz well theres an offense the kings used to run with rick adelman. Where chris webber would pass from the top of the key and had screens running everywhere and shooters to fill the spot. Similar to golden state. poole benefited off of people having to double team either klay or steph. While draymond would pass from the top of the key. Now he aint got shit and is the #1 option now hes exposed because defense is focused on him the entire time. And its obvious the dude cant create a shot for his own. Where as harden his offense was clear in okc that he could easily create his own shot. Harden is vastly different then poole. Poole is like basically the next nick young in wizards scores 16-17 a game because hes basically the only one who can shoot.

    I mean, he was a great contributor to them winning and then he didn't play so well but why not offer him a chance for redemption?
    Or do teams don't have time to work on their players?

    • @lennethvalkyrie6919

      I think there are a few reasons why Poole got shipped as soon as possible.
      1. The situation didn't look promising. I am sure Warriors would like to keep Poole if possible. But, they must have saw no hope in this situation.
      2. Warriors can't afford to wait. The core is definitely getting old, and everything can collapse at any time.
      3. Luxury tax and second apron. If they kept Poole, they were in yet another year of massive luxury tax. And with the new CBA, numerous penalties for 2nd apron made the retooling nearly impossible. Then, Wizard came in and offered to take Poole for Paul and his expiring contract only (they did trade 2030 first rounder, but that's top 25 protected). It's a deal that Warriors couldn't pass up, and they are now on schedule to reset the 2nd apron at least. If they don't resign/sign a small contract to Klay, they can get out of the luxury tax all together.

    "glass houses" huh. idc how bad jordan poole plays or how self-centered he is/was. draymond green is still in the wrong and is still more of a nothing without steph curry than even poole is. green either gives up or flat out gets himself suspended when he know he not gon be playin w/steph lmfao. w/o steph, green woulda been pushed all the way out the league for his antics before his 5th year, nevermind that he wouldnt develope to the player he was a few years ago. dubs fans ride too hard for that man-child.

    The Warriors are seemingly forgetting how to win. They just let KD go and Poole was being treated like shit by Draymond and nobody stood up for him. Hope Dray's no offense helps you score more points. The front office is becoming a joke. Everybody seems to think the big trio is enough, it's not. They better start holding onto some important pieces.

    Harden imo is one of the most overrated players out there. Probably gets in hall of fame for scoring but teams cannot win championships with his defense. Just like carmelo

    Can't blame the Warriors for paying Jordan Poole at the time
    I think any GM at the time would have paid Poole. I think we all expected Poole to take it to the next level.

    GSW could have had 2 more chips if Draymond hadn’t dissed KD. Draymond is a drag on this team. It’s just everyone is scared of him. Keep in mind his former partner accused him of domestic abuse. Given Green’s violent temper this accusation probably ain’t too far from the truth.

      you’re overreacting. draymond has been suspended for 6 games. curry has been injured for a couple of games. klay and wiggs are starting to shoot better. it’s a bad start, but it’s still too early. the warriors are still 8-9 and just 3 losses below the 4th seed

    You’re wrong about harden. He got that contract cause of what he did on okc. He was Houston’s number option as soon as he agreed to the contract and he scored more than 15 ppg off the line stop it.
