@@Thefeatherbender I have learned a lot form your video's, I tie a very similar fly, but I use a wing burner to create wings, and yes these flies "Float all day" I have tied this particular fly of yours on sizes 14 thru 18,
This is a simple but wonderfully effective pattern. I tie down to a #16 to use up those smaller CDC feathers we all have included in packets. The same tie in dark colours on a #16 works really well as a grannom.
Nice. Do you use different CDC types for creating the body and the brush? My experience so far is that the long feathers suitable for bodies are not suitable for the brush as the fibers often seem to be a bit short...
Oh I see. To an Englishman (I guess you're not?) they could hardly sound more different. But I'm swift to add that in their very different ways, both men add greatly to the store of human knowledge. We're fortunate to have access to their wisdom.
awesome fly Barry
Thank you.

You are very welcome Jim.
Nice pattern...I have a very successful caddis pattern like yours but I do not cut the bottom cdc off
Wonderful fast fly. Where do you purchase those beautiful cdc feathers? They are the healthiest I have seen.
Hi Marcus, thanks. I believe they are from 54DeanStreet.

Hi Einar, yes your correct you have to choose your CDC for the job at hand.
The feather bender Do you have that diversity of feathers from a single cdc package from e.g. Marc Petitjean?
What other colors do you like?
All natural...
vry nice thanks for all
Brilliant!
Thanks Tim
Why use cdc for the body? With dubbing is most esay? Sorry for my english
Hi Mattia, It floats much better than dubbing and I am sticking to the original pattern.
@@Thefeatherbender ok thank you i try this evening!

Am I the only one who imagines Christopher Hitchens is winding that thread?
Out of interest, why?
@@3000waterman I think Hitchens sounds similar to Mr. Clarke..or the other way 'round, if you prefer:)
