@PHO3N1X_28 the Isle of Mann was 1st brought into the Fold (Scottish Fold) when the once War Master of Scotland, Chief of Clan Arias, the 1st Earl of Ross Fearchar the Son of the Priest with his Armada and Army of Ross and his cousin the Kings Troops as his War Master took out the Viking Lairds One by One with the War Master Fearchar often 1st to crash upon the Viking Shield Walls in and around Scotland, stealing their Lands and Gold and making who would become the Ross' the Richest and Most Powerful Family in the Highlands for Generations. The War Master and Chief the 1st Earl of Ross Fearchar was married to the Queen of Mann and their daughter became the Next Queen of Mann, and I personally consider that when they were concreted into the Fold. See at the time Scotland just was not really a Kingdom yet in the sense it would be to come. Now Malcom was a Title not a Name, so saying King Malcon is a way is Redundant. See the Scoti needed a title above Mormaer with Com the Title Below that, and Mormaers use to be like Kings, but now under the Forming Scottish Nation that was more akin to an lil Empire than a Kingdom they were just Not Like Kings anymore but more like Earls. This was a slow generational process, with figures like Macbeth (Macheth) a formative leader towards such, Macbeth who was the Mormaer of 3 Mormaerdoms (like the Mormaerdom of Ross, last Mormaer of Ross we have any Record of) and Thane of Scotland before he became King of the Scots. Now by the Time of King Malcom and the War Master and Chief of the 1st Earl of Ross Fearchar control of Scotland was not absolute, most of the Vikings in and around Scotland were not under the Scoti Crown and areas were often fairly independent. Now King Malcom decided to adopt a more Norse Political System, hence Mormaers (which no one in Europe really knew what that meant) becoming Earls and the King firmly above them (although most places were Counties not Earldoms) and King Malcom sought to bring Scotland truly under one banner, his! We can see this with his Cousins Fearchar, his Champion before being his War Master by putting down a Rebellion and saving the King from an Ambush on a Boggy Pass in the Sheer knick of time did Chief Fearchar and Clan Arias come Cresting that Hill as a Tidal Wave of the Red Reapers of Ross upon the Kings assailants (catching wind of such treachery some hours before night before I think, and Clan Arias and Fearchar Fleet of Foot for Countless Miles to Stop Such) who by Fearchar becoming the Earl of Ross and Clan Arias moving from Wester Ross to Easter Ross (and soon enough becoming the Great Clan Ross Clan Ross is all the Gentry too) brought Ross more under the Kings Fold and more Under the Kingdom of Scotland's Control, which brought Moray right under Ross further into the Fold as well. So the War Master Fearchar and King Malcom crushed many Viking Fiefdoms and Jarldoms with the Vikings refusing to Surrender although cut off by Fearchar's Armada, so one by one did they Fall, but still to the Last they Did, and instead of simply laying down their Arms and accepting the Scoti King as theirs, the Stood, Stood in Sheild Walls the War Master Fearchar was often 1st to Crash Upon! Than they also Brought more places in Scotland more under the Crown and made places like the Isle of Mann come under us as well, hence the War Master and Chief the 1st Earl of Ross Fearchar the Son of the Priest married to the Queen of Mann and his daughter becoming Queen of Mann.
@uhohhotdog Good point.
Toycat, explain.
Trump mostly wants to tariff germany, with which they have a huge trade deficit.
But as they are in the EU, said tariffs apply to all EU members.
The UK is not in the EU. Simple as that.
Germany has Zeiss, Zeiss lenses are used in ASML EUV machines from my country the Netherlands. ASML is the one company that applies Moore's law to chip. The most important chiptechnology company in the world. Pulling Zeiss lenses or ASML from the US would be great depression in the US. The EU would get all the US tech companies.
There are parts the US makes, but China makes them too. ASML doesn't sell to China right now, but in the past they did. This is the only reason why the US is still ahead in all their chipmaking.
7nm chips would be the best the US or TSMC counld do from 2018. Nvidia 1000 series era. In tech that's a lifetime.
His logic is a bit off though. He's talking as if a trade deficit means other countries are stealing from the US. But they're selling, meaning US consumers receive goods in return which they apparently want. Nothing unfair about it. Sanctioning other countries for selling you stuff hurts both sides.
Ireland has a massive deficit as well. But it's nearly pharmaceutical ingredients used for medicine, made by US companies in Ireland
who exactly blew up the pipeline, Germany knows.
@ Technically, the US put 2.5% on EU cars, while the EU puts 10% on US cars.

Tzar is the Russian equivalent to Emperor.
It has similar origins to the German equivalent “Kaiser”, as both derive from the dynastic name of the first Roman emperors “Caesar”.
To elaborate further most European words equilateral to emperor either derive from Caesar or the Roman title Imperator
imperator just means ruler or commander
@deutschermichel5807 just like Fuhrer?
@@roccosoldi8678 didn't fuhrer meant leader?
@@Dread_2137yes
Царь (tsar/czar) is cognate with Kaiser and Caesar, but it's not used in the same way as emperor. The Russian word for "emperor" is император (imperator-like in Latin). Царь is used more like "high king" as in there are petty kings or princes under him, but not entire nations. The leader of Russia stopped being called царь around 1700, when Peter I was crowned император of the Russian Empire. Kings in antiquity are called царь, as in King David. Kings in the Middle Ages in Western Europe are referred to as король (karol), which comes from Charlemagne.
The notion that all Canadians were polite has been a myth for awhile. At best, you’d have some that were passive aggressive.
I’m not a Trump fan & the tariffs on Canada are stupid, but it didn’t result in Canadians suddenly becoming anti-American. It’s been that way for a while now. A lot of their modern culture seems to stem around not being America. So it’s not really anything new. There’s another Canadian RUclipsr on here that even talks about it.
Uh, idk where you live, but Canadian's are typically polite. It's wealthy people that aren't, and the only difference is that the wealthy canadians at least have a grasp on being a human...unlike wealthy us citizens.
@ sorry, not from my experience
Our national identity IS based on not being American. This dates back to your revolutionary war and the United Empire Loyalists. Confederation happened in 1867 because you kept trying to annex us. "We are not those assholes" is baked into our spinal column as a nation.
I feel like the politeness meme owes partially to Canadians saying "sorry" a lot more - "sorry" can mean "excuse me" or be used to get someone's attention. I'm Canadian but it's hard to quantify politeness. The Americans I've met were nice to me.
Just a general reminder that only one country has managed to burn down the white house, and surprisingly enough it wasn't the US itself. Don't mess with the Canucks.

UK is consistently rated as the top ally by the most amount of Americans compared to any other country and when polled the amount of Americans who view the Uk as an enemy is extremely small, much smaller than for countries like France or Germany, though it isn't high for them either, it is more like 10-15% compared to 5%.
Also there are just greater connections. I think most Americans know many British people online on places like RUclips as a matter of course, but not really in the case of most other European countries.
We're deluding ourselves if we believe Trump won't target the UK: He's being soft *right now* because someone has gently reminded him that we have first refusal on any purchase of Greenland from Denmark, which could be used as a lever to make his life difficult, and because he has more personal business interest in the UK than in any other European nation.
Further please note at 11:20 that the USA is not the largest trading partner of the UK, and this comparison only works if you don't treat the EU as a single trade bloc.... which it is: We trade more than twice as much with the EU than the US, and a more accurate comparison would be to treat the US as an economic and political union of states... which it, also, is.
Further, the demographics discussed around polling apply primarily to *England*, and not the UK as a whole: This is important because it, too, is a political and economic union of states.

All of the things you listed can be produced in the US (try to enforce a foreign medical patent here), and it would not take very much retooling to update refineries to process light sweet crude. Isolating ourselves is a feature of MAGA, not a bug.
Ultimately, I think that there's a misconception of America First as little more than crude chauvinism. It's not just about priorities; it's also about the domestic consumption of American goods to support domestic production. It is ultimately a good thing if we import less. I thought tariffs are pain for the buyers, but Canada's actions makes me think otherwise. If this was true, retaliating with an opposing tariffs makes least amount of sense.
The best way to validate that tariffs works is to retaliate with tariffs.
It is, but Canada retaliated with a small number of targeted tariffs on luxury goods they can easily import from elsewhere or abstain from buying and also they produce crude oil that the US needs (because most US refineries are specialized on the type of oil Canada has, and it's expensive to retrofit them to process US oil). Trump is mindlessly putting tariffs on anything without thinking it through, other countries and even Trump himself from the past presidency did put up much more strategic tariffs.
Yeah, that's totally wrong. Reason you retaliate is because if you don't, it means you will have unequal trading relationship. If you don't retaliate, it means tariffs do still work, but you are just not going to do anything about it. I mean you just don't need to validate that tariffs work, they just do.
lmfao, no, retaliatory tarrifs don't "validate tarrifs" it is the exact reason tarrifs don't work as anything except and infation creator, and a way to protect certain industries like EV's being taken over by foreign competitors.
