God bless you. ! Im a retired Middle School teacher and just started my Garage Biz in north west CO. Love your content. You’re a great teacher. I learn a lot from you!
@@lbyvik Much appreciated! Glad the content I provide can help. Thanks for the support!
Hey Bruh, I thought you were too busy to post anymore! I was thinking, " BUSINESS MUST BE BOOMING!" Anyway, I hope all is well and I hope you keep the videos coming. And I say that because you provide a balanced perspective on the garage door repair business in a more balanced and positive way. I say that because there aren't many guys on RUclips providing knowledge about the industry and the ones who are usually on opposite sides of the spectrum. One guy makes everything sound like the business is all gloom and doom and then the next guy make the business seem way too peaches and cream! So it's good to have someone saying " Guys this business is very doable. If you do the right things you can be successful. Welcome back!
Thanks for sharing this video. I'm new to your channel and am impressed by your knowledge of your craft and the humility you show. As a side note, ignore the naysayers and gainsayers.

I have trying to learn this, I will drive down from Dallas if you are able to help in any way. I’ve been applying to companies and asking to ride along and nobody responds
Good stuff, I have a question. Did you jump straight into the business full time ? And if so, how fast did you start making an income. Debating on how I should launch my business strategically.
@@skippy05 Sorry for my delayed response.
So, here’s my story in brief.
I did work for a nationwide company for several years and seen a lot of things across the country. I learned a lot. When I started my business, fortunately we have two major suppliers right here in San Antonio. So, once I started I literally was off and running making profit asap. Never has been any slow time whatsoever. Yelp is huge honestly because they allow you to work and make money the whole first month without paying til the end of the month. So that was huge. But brother, you can make money ASAP in this industry. There is an immediate return because your margins are what you make them…literally! Generally speaking the margins are amazing in this industry. Just go for it man. It boils down to your drive and thats it! You, determine your success level
@@skippy05 Yes, by the way…I jumped straight into the business full time. I left my previous national company and started my own thing full time right out the gates!
@@dapperdudesgarageyou the man thanks for the explanation! Big help
Dope vids bro question what’s the fastest way of installing a door do u track it first or nail the panels then track just curious
Nah, we track it first. One side first, set the bottom panel in with rollers into the track and then do the other sides tracks. Then from there we literally just stack the panels one at a time, use vice grips to hold the door against/in the tracks and while the vice grips hold the panel in place we then freely shoot the hinges and hardware on one panel at a time. We have tested and timed it and how I do it beat most other guys that challenged that way vs theirs! But I guess it just depends on what feels more natural to you. Maybe I’ll do a video on it in depth here soon
Thanks for the engagement sir
@@dapperdudesgarageawesome thanks for your response ! Question when you say you track it first do you track it with the horizontal already attached to the vertical ? Sorry for all these questions I’m just very interested in being more efficient and quick I’m trying to bonus from my job lol the way I’m doing it now is i track it both sides like you said then stack panels, after the last panel I hang up the pole with the springs then go to left side attach the horizontal then right side then I wind it up then go to the back hangs then hang up my operator and do all that, thanks again for u reply i watch all ur vids !
Oh, I have an idea for a video! From your experience and perspective, what is your opinion on guys who may want to specialize in a certain area for their business? Lets say a guy only wants to do door installation or only garage door repair or garage door openers as opposed to the guy who wants to do all three? Because I think the business is more versatile than people give it credit for being? What say you?
Great teaching with Christian values. Thank you. Check out The Grace Message Dr. Andrew Farley. He has broken the chains from my childhood teachings. Grace is the way.
