Thanks for coming to Vancouver Rick! The show last night was awesome and your set was hilarious!😅 Love the podcast and was super cool to see your stand up live, can't wait till the next time you are in town❤
The end monologue of Zach about the difference in the appearance of the inner life and outside projection of self really hits hard. What a great podcast and a great guest.
"The idea that people have like torments and glories that are happening inside completely out of view ... might actually be the core drama of their life." -Zach Woods This was awesome. Lol
This is the first time I've watched Zach Woods outside of The Office & Silicon Valley and wow - this dude is so hilarious and quick. Perfect match to Rick's energy and I love how playful he is. Would love to see him on more pods
So happy that you were able to get Zach Woods on the show. I know how you said you would love to get him on one day. He is an extremely underrated comedian.
I've rewarched this podcast probably 3 times. it's one of my favourite things to put on that's guaranteed to have me crying laughing. we need more episodes with Zach woods!
I loved this, Zach Woods' recent podcast tour has made me into a huge fan of him. This dude seems to be able to meaningfully contribute to anything be it silly or serious. Bring him back for at least 2 more pls.
Talking about Austin Powers and Zach says, "Behave" and Rick immediately with the, "Oh" So quick so funny. The hilarity of this episode is up there with Arnold!
I forgot how late zach woods joined the office because he was such an excellent addition. Hes great in literally everything. Jared on Silicon Valley was incredible. He was great on that Hugh laurie - amando iannuci space show that got cancelled too early . I have no doubts this will be a great episode . their comedic sensibilities match so well
The last 17 min of this are just the best thing i have ever listened to on a podcast. The way that zach and rick characterized how they feel and the mannerisms they exhibit for the slight bits of control of the experience and digestion of life is exactly how i feel in a way that made me pump my fist and laugh while crying all the while. I have always felt like i could relate to characters on screen and in print better than those closest to me. There's something so tender and vulnerable about joking/being serious-ly yourself like rick talks about and there's something about trying to make strangers love special moments they happen to come across in their lives is just the best and only way to live.
The introspection, reflection, and evolution of ideas between these two in this ep was amazing to watch as they adapted to each other's vibes. Love the dynamic and am looking forward to 2.0!
I’m a little over halfway so it has the chance to crescendo but I feel like Rick is too scatterbrained in this one. Found myself skipping ahead to move it along.
This dude is a legend in the improv scene. Still not super old, but I've heard SOOO many improv people talk about how naturally good he was when he started. He rarely does shows anymore, so it's great to see him doing podcasts. He used to be on Improv4humans quite a bit.
Actually, it drives me crazy when he says that, because what he obviously means is that he doesn't like to talk NEGATIVELY about other people! He talks about (brings up) other people all the time, positively or neutrally. I wish he would say "I don't like to talk badly about other people". I just had to say that.
This was such a beautiful conversation. Loved the depth. And when Zach said he kicked the door in while singing Hall & Oates and there was a man in there I gut laughed 😂 can’t wait to hopefully see him again on here soon!
The animated blanketed statement was perfect… i almost didn’t catch it, and it made me rewind to see if it was ever there. The fact that there are so many layers to TYSO and yet the conversations are the best part is why it’s the GOAT podcast
The ending to this episode was incredibly cathartic for me. Thank you for being so vulnerable Rick. It gives me so much courage to try and do the same. I'll be at the show tonight at THE BILTMORE CABARET IN VANCOUVER, TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE AS i BOUGHT MINE AN HOUR AGO!!! GET EM WHILE YOU CAN!!!
What a refreshing podcast… No one yelling, no screaming, no over the top emotions… hardly any interruptions and allowing each other to talk. It was good and wholesome. Felt like a Bluey episode. Need a part two!
Aww. The second half of this show made a lot of things clear in my head. It gave me clarity on things I have often thought about but couldn't put into words. ♡
I just want to say that conversation (particularly at the end) was so meaningful and honest and sincere that I am incredibly thankful to both of you sharing. It was genuinely profound and helpful (and obvs hilarious) to hear 🙌🙌
This was probably my favorite podcast in years! You made me laugh and hit me with amazing personal vulnerability. My two favorite things! Please hold him to his word and make him come back!!
Wait, I’m pretty damn sure this is the greatest podcast that has ever been recorded in the history of podcasts. I want everyone to witness me on record saying that this was the moment that podcasting peaked.
Thank you for this episode. It resonates deeply. I've had OCD (predominantly as scrupulosity) since I was 10 with intermittent periods of deep depression. The excerpt from Witches that Zach uses to illustrate how OCD first manifest in his life is maybe the most useful metaphor I have heard for my own internal experience. The entire mental health discussion makes me feel so seen and so much less alone today. I appreciate both of you for being willing to sit in the vulnerability pocket for so long. The episode ends just as you are getting to the glowing heart of the whole thing...maybe the glowing heart of the Whole Thing.
I really liked this episode. I've been watching a lot of these podcasts, and this one had a special vibe to it. I mean to put that in a very positive light. It was blast to watch, and Zach seems so empathic but still has this levity and playfulness in collaboration with Rick that feels very satisfying to watch and listen to. Hope to see him again!
this is one of those episodes that really highlights what keeps me coming back to this podcast: it feels like i'm watching two people become best friends. i Love this feeling, i Live for this feeling - possibly bc i'm a chronically lonely autistic adult idk. rick glassman is out here doing podcasts for the same reason i'd like to be doing podcasts: to be able to talk to people and make friends. like... dreams *can* come true.
This could actually be a regular podcast. As in offshoot of TYSO. This was absolutely brilliant. Solemn Witch Trial bit is absolutely top notch and fucking funny.
Holy crap Rick, this was just phenomenal man. The chemistry between you two and the way you both explain such relateable feelings, at least for me, along with how you guys make sense of it all in your careers and your lives in general....dude just a beautiful conversation. I can't wait for part deux man. Much love man, peace n pot 🖤💜
I think people don't realize how life-affirming, (one by one) life-changing it is to listen to another person talk candidly about OCD. It's hard to describe how I feel. Please another episode with Zach. I think it was really meaningful to him, too.
I have watched a tiny bit of Rick Glassman and I love how he goes from the dumbest thing to a genuine conversation. I am thinking about how I can do this when I visit my family next week. I can related to that "tension" so much. its aweseome
First time for me and That was perfect!!! Really enjoyed it! My son has OCD ‘’intrusive thoughts’’ and has a mother it is very concerning because I always worry about his happiness and his loneliness and it even breaks my heart when I witness his struggles.. hearing about it from an other perspective from someone who deal with it is very comforting for me.. it helped me calm my fears down knowing you can do great in life and therefore make it easier by developing mechanisms to shut it down sometimes.. anyways I am emotional right now.. Tks a lot for sharing. ❤
Great Episode, had Tourette’s my whole life and I remember as a kid seeing Zach on TV noticing his ticks, totally affirming to hear people in such a public view talking about their Tourette’s
Rick is performing in Vancouver THIS WEDNESDAY, June 5th & in Chicago on August 3rd. Get tickets at www.punchup.live/rickglassman
think about all those germs he's gonna be covered in.
Please come to Portland 😘
Dangit I may need to take a road trip to Chicago this summer
Wow- stick man from The Office!! 😮 yes
Thanks for coming to Vancouver Rick! The show last night was awesome and your set was hilarious!😅 Love the podcast and was super cool to see your stand up live, can't wait till the next time you are in town❤
Man, Zach Woods is brilliant - I hope he swings back for a 2.0 - the second half of the pod was beautiful.
Yeah, there's people who have 5.0 that I have almost zero interest. Loved the potential of this episode, could've been so much more
Zach Woods HAS to come back. This only scratched the surface of what you two are capable of in a room together 🙌
Jared on Sillicon Valley is one of the greatest characters in modern television.
Couldn’t have said it better. Honestly my favorite character on any piece of film. Brings me so much joy. He’s brilliant! I could rewatch all day
That guy fucks
Real and true
This guy fucks.
Agreed
The end monologue of Zach about the difference in the appearance of the inner life and outside projection of self really hits hard. What a great podcast and a great guest.
This podcast is the only one i can laugh and get therapy from at the same time.
Art is a loneliness killer, ooft
It hit home so hard. Fuck they’re making tears come out of my face
His dad is a therapist :)
That made me cry my eyes out ;_;
The chemistry between the both of you have made this such an amazing episode. Looking forward to a Zach Woods 2.0 in the future.
I think Zach 1.0 would be perfectly fine to bring back for a second episode, no need to remake him
Zach 1.0 expressed some discontent in his present form. Perhaps Zach 2.0 is simply the self-assured stallion that emerges from his shadowy chrysalis.
Such a good episode, get him back soon.
"Bewitched, bothered and bewildered" is my new favorite phrase
It's a very old song.
Love this song ❤
"The idea that people have like torments and glories that are happening inside completely out of view ... might actually be the core drama of their life." -Zach Woods
This was awesome. Lol
Zach is a really kind-hearted and genuine person!! Very introspective and I'd be happy to see him on TYSO again soon! 🙂
This is the first time I've watched Zach Woods outside of The Office & Silicon Valley and wow - this dude is so hilarious and quick. Perfect match to Rick's energy and I love how playful he is. Would love to see him on more pods
Zach has overwhelming love and compassion in his eyes
Never been a more likable guest. Zach woods is a 10
The last 30 mins of this episode I think is some of the best, most genuine stuff youve ever talked about with any other guest.
Ugh yes! I knew going in that this would be a good epi - love Zach Woods - but dang they really got deep and it all resonated hard! Part 2 asap!
"Mind over matter" is one of my favorite stories of all time omfg
Zach Woods 2.0 ***ASAP***
I don't think I've enjoyed a podcast episode as much as this. I am so happy I stumbled upon this account.
This was truly great. Zach Woods completely dismantled Rick and his silly parlor tricks. 😂
So happy that you were able to get Zach Woods on the show. I know how you said you would love to get him on one day. He is an extremely underrated comedian.
"Do you hear yourself"
"Yes, unfortunately"
😂 🤣

Whoa they cancelled Avenue 5? Damn
@@I-do-not-read-replies im sorry you had to find out like this.
I stay getting Howie Mandel OCD ads only on TYSO videos now. Targeting ads perfectly 😂
SOMETIMES I TALK TO MY LEFT FOOT, MORE THAN I TALK TO MY RIGHT😂
Same!!
Try watching H3.
@@johnstonecypher6116I’m good 😂
@Henrydingus01123, I bet you could be better.

Easily, one of your best episodes. You two are wonderful together. Deeply funny....and deep. Bravo both of you.

started when he was 16
UCB NY turned out some amazing talent in the early years. It was like the Algonquin Round Table of goofy bullshit.
Felt like I was listening in on you guys getting to know each other. This was wonderful ♡
i need more of this! Zach, please come back for a longer episode!! love yall! Rick, you have the best podcast!
Ricks thing about not talking about other people is a great way to live life.
Actually, it drives me crazy when he says that, because what he obviously means is that he doesn't like to talk NEGATIVELY about other people! He talks about (brings up) other people all the time, positively or neutrally. I wish he would say "I don't like to talk badly about other people". I just had to say that.
Love Zach Woods. He seems like a very genuine and empathetic person. I really like his voice too :)
Beautiful insights at the end there both of you. Thanks for sharing.
Such a great episode
These 2 have the same energy and it's fabulous
This was such a beautiful conversation. Loved the depth. And when Zach said he kicked the door in while singing Hall & Oates and there was a man in there I gut laughed 😂 can’t wait to hopefully see him again on here soon!
We definitely need a part 2 this was an absolute treat
really enjoyed Rick and Zach's chemistry. Such fun energy

Zach Woods! This one is gonna be a classic. Thanks Rick.
Aww. The second half of this show made a lot of things clear in my head. It gave me clarity on things I have often thought about but couldn't put into words. ♡
"Is that from Les Mis?" - I had a literal spit take. Fun ep
On the part of Zach.. an, absolute masterclass of intellectual/comedic vulnerability...
Blesses me with personal hope. And I deeply appreciate it
*take notes, Glassman.. 😊
School.
what a guest!! Zach Woods has such a wonderful perspective to share.
I'm here for this, please more Zach style people and Zach in person. Top 5% tier of what I want from this podcast.
One of my favorite eps of all time! Please have him back Rick! This is GOLD ❤
I just want to say that conversation (particularly at the end) was so meaningful and honest and sincere that I am incredibly thankful to both of you sharing.
It was genuinely profound and helpful (and obvs hilarious) to hear 🙌🙌
This was a dope one Ricky
Thanks brotha!
This is such an inspirational conversation. I appreciate both of your bravery in open communication with each other.
Aw. That little doggy is so adorable.
most relateable guest I think for me personaly yet! HOPE there is a part two. Love everything about this fellow
34:44 a pun or a bum 😂 also cameraman bill is one of my favorite recurring characters

That would break the internet.

Incredible meta! Great idea
Oh my god yesss
Lmao I was just listening and I heard “not a blanketed statement” so I go back and rewind and there’s never a blanket.. the edit is so clean.
Great episode Rick, the chemistry in this one is certifiably bewildered and bewitched
“I don’t know if they’re friends, they get in a lot of fights” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Amazing episode Rick. Have Zach back a million times over.
You know it’s a great episode when wiggy is on cam 😍🐶❤️
I’m gunna miss that little guy, this must be an old episode cause he mentioned he isn’t in a relationship anymore and I believe the pup is his ex’s
@@JerseyfreshXx He didn't have the sound panels back then and he posted something with wiggy on IG last week. I don't want to jump to conclusions tho.

12:52 the improv version of quitting a pickup basketball game Rick was shocked 😂
Zach Woods is so goddamn funny and charming. I adore him!
This is one of my new favorite things on the internet. So fun, so honest, yay.
This is so sweet, watching you two resonate and feel one another so deeply here!

Another perfect pairing! The last 20 minutes really got me
Zach is just the BEST fabulous personality and Wiggy is damn adorable
gah damn, what a perfect episode. thanks Ricky G
I love Zach and relate to him so much
I can watch these Rick and Zach for hours. I laugh and learn so much about myself at the same time.
That was such a killer episode. The discussion of comedy/acting/writing through the lens of the OCD experience inspires.
Best ep. by FAR. What a pleasure to watch. Zach is a perfect match for Rick.
What an utterly profound conversation. I'm going to listen to this again, first go was a lot to digest
Sad this one had to end early, need to get Zach back on to take those shoes off!

Wiggy at Rick's place in LA means two things: he's making progress on his OCD (we love to see it), and his relationship with "A Babe" is healthy.
Very cool, I thought it was the same dog 😊
I wish this conversation could have gone on longer! I love how you pause and give each other space to think and complete a thought
