Correction i forgot to mention, Sodium mod was used along side Iris(which is what runs the shaders), both can be found here: www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/sodium www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/irisshaders
Use complementary shader unbound without settings that needed ray tracing cores. Also can you test how fast m4 load chunks. You can push the limits in rainy weather with the trident with Riptide 3 enchant
Bought the base Mac mini m4, pretty much same results I get, maybe 5-10 or so less fps, but I keep max settings on. Like fancy graphics fancy everything, and 16 render distance. 32 render distance gets like 50 fps but that’s still “playable” If anyone wants me to test some shaders or mods lmk and I’ll reply with the results.
@@fennecRBX I think you did use Sodium and Iris in order to run the shaders (the settings interface is Sodium's). But great video anyways! Thanks a lot
I've had afew comments like that and im not fully sure, I pretty much just ran it normally via prismlauncher. Java issue maybe, give the game more ram, or try performance mods like sodium.
This might not fix your problem but I had a similar problem and was able to fix it. If you migrate from an Intel mac to the m4 mac mini, you might still be running X_86 version of java which is built for intel machines and not silicon which runs on arm64. This is a very simple fix; you just have to install the correct version of java (lots of tutorials), and then in the Minecraft launcher settings you have to make sure you have selected the box that says use arm64 java. This helped me a lot, before I was getting 100-200 fps and now i can get 400-600 easily (with sodium obviously). Maybe this is the reason your getting not great performance maybe not, but if it is I hope this helps.
@Waffle12-yn9qu is probably completely right. It seems like you used a java version that isnt build for Arm. Had similar problems cause i use like 12 different java versions and then i discovered that the x_86 run generally worse.

Hey man getting 600-800+ fps on normal Minecraft it’s GREAT for a device that cost 599$, thank you for this video ❤
Just bought the M4 to run Vintage Story. This video is very encouraging that I made the right decision.
Finally a Video that Shows me exactly what I want to See!❤

Great video! Were you running any optimization mods like sodium?
No mods other then the shaders, so with something like sodium things would be even better.

Have you run shaders on ultra while not recording? Curious on FPS
Is this the Basic or More gb or somethinggg…
What resolution were you running Minecraft at?
on my mac m2 mini i got like 30 fps with patrix 32x and the same shaders on 1440p so im assuming this is 4k
also he's not using sodium so you can even achieve more fps

thank you!
U sure this is just the base model or the best model?
It’s base I have it
How did you get this running so smoothly? I just got my mini m4 and I get like 25 fps whilst you get around 80.

@@fennecRBX I did the latter. I'll give prism a go. Thanks for responding, have a good day!

are you running it in 1440p?
Which m4 chip do you have? (8 core gpu, 10 core, pro, etc) thanks
m4 base! 10 core gpu
I only have 30 fps, why?
Make sure VSync is off, the mods in pinned can also help.
