There’s no better way to celebrate a new Pokémon release than by watching a new AbsolBlogsPokemon movie There’s just such a pleasant warmth and positivity with this series, and how you handle content, and your playthroughs, I’m shamelessly addicted to these, keep up the amazing work!!!!!
I honestly love Matt's style of videos since you never know what you'll get maybe it's a tree failing to destroy his house, maybe it's the guy at 5:10 telling this we wholesome short story about his friendship with David I hope he continues to make this kind of video even though they probably take an enormous amount of time to edit
Honestly my favorite part about absols content is that he is just so excited by simple things in pokemon, that his personality is just so different from other poketubers, and does so much irl stuff in-between his playthroughs and other stuff that you never know what story you will get out of the video
48:00 I was watching this while grinding out my pokedex in Legends Arceus and this legit helped me with a quest I was stuck on. Thats really funny and I appreciate you adding that part.
1:22:08 You may have already corrected yourself or figured out another way, but Metal Burst is unique because it doesn't require a specific damage type in order to activate. so it would have worked great against Special Lucario. This is also why Metal Burst returns 1.5x the damage back to the attacker, where counter/mirror coat return 2x the damage. I used a Special Attacker Bastiodon for my Shining Pearl playthrough and Metal Burst ended up being a great secret weapon. It always OHKO's Garchomp because with it being 4x weak to Earthquake, Sturdy always activates first turn and Bastiodon just nopes it right out of the arena.
I really appreciate the real life moments you slip into your videos. The non gaming parts are a nice break into things and it’s really enjoyable. Also keep up the singing and dancing you been doing these constant vids. U got sick moves dude
I remember when I played through Platinum. I accidentally chose to nickname my starter even though I didn't want to and made his nickname "chimchar." I absolutely rolled through every trainer because I pretty much only used the one pokemon and he got overleveled fast. He had Scratch (to weaken pokemon I wanted to catch and put in my PC), Flame Wheel (looked cool), Mach Punch (looked cool) and Rock Smash (HM). Got stuck at Wake because I was only using him for something like 95% of battles so I caught five Tropius in the safari zone, spammed razor leaf or magical leaf or something with them. I kept a Bibarel around for HMs and Staravia (I didn't like how Staraptor looked so I gave it an everstone) for Fly and ended up beating Cynthia with a level 80ish chimchar the Infernape a Bibarel, Staravia, and three Tropius which were super under leveled. I pretty much used all of the others to tank hits while I gave healing items to chimchar. And found my first and only shiny ever, a Noctowl near the daycare. Such good memories of that game.
this is old but god it’s funny. i opened up my LeafGreen recently to my level 90 Blastoise, a Krabby named Kingler, and a Diglett named idiggy for HMs. no idea what I was thinking
Can’t wait for whatever Mr.Blogs does when Legends comes out. Fully expecting him to be rolling around fields, creeping behind trees and I hope he rides a giant fish around a lake.
I really like your positive outlook on this game. Not that disliking it is wrong or bad, though! I personally thought it was very flawed but a ton of fun. I honestly don't care too much about their flaws because Pokemon games make me happier than most other media. That is all that really matters to me. Can't wait for your Legends Arceus movie. Here's to Hisui!
17:15 word man. I went into this game not knowing those mythical gifts were even there, and god dammit when I stumbled upon that old couple and they handed me a Jirachi, I made that Jirachi part of my team, since I’d never had the chance to use one before. Ended up going with a Modest special attacking set, and good lord I spent so much time in the early game doing some old school EV training, since I didn’t want to wait until I got to the vitamins in Veilstone to be able to use it. Now, if only I played the Cynthia fight a little smarter and preserved Jirachi for her Milotic, since it had my only electric and grass coverage.
I can oficially confirme: dressing up as Turtwig is NOT increasing the shinyodds, unlike the Ice- King dressup. over 10.2k Encounters in the hunt and still don't have member number one for the DTQ... But it's a very nice video. Can't wait for Legends...
Honestly man, this here is the best content on RUclips. The mix of gameplay and filmed footage showing the actual journey of playing the game is just top bloody notch. 👍👍
My favorite Sinnoh moment was when I was 9 years old and stuck right at the last badge for MONTHS because I couldn't figure out that you had to go deep into the mountain caves to progress the plot. I literally thought I just had to wait for the power at Sunnyshore city to turn back on... But then! I was on an AIRPLANE going to some obscure state to visit relatives, and my FRIEND from my old SCHOOL who I hadn't seen in AGES was sitting right behind me on the plane??? What are the chances!! And we were both playing Pokemon Platinum!!! He showed me how to progress the story, and he traded me a Skarmory which he got from late game to show me how cool the stronger Pokemon can get! I was so excited, it was like I had a whole new world to explore (we couldn't afford many games so I just kept playing Platinum even though I was stuck) and now I had the whole final gym to fight, a whole new postgame to explore... Things were tumultuous in my family life at the time, and that's why I was going out of the state for the summer, and having all that new exploration to do filled me with so much excitement and joy that I was just so grateful that I just randomly happened to be on the same airplane as my childhood friend. Even to this day, I still name every first Skarmory I catch in a new game after him, even though I haven't seen him in over a decade. This one's for you, Jacob!
The Empoleon toughing is out reminds me of my first playthrough of X. My Delphox loved me so much that it toughed it out on 1 hp 5 turns in a row. It's the reason I was able to defeat Grant first try despite not preparing much. It was my last mon and it's a very fond memory I have of those games
I love these movies so much. As soon as I saw it in my sub box I dropped everything I was doing, got some snacks and a drink and watched the entire thing. I really enjoyed playing theses games side by side with my fiancé. So to sit down and watch a movie like this really made me remember how we played through them together for hours on a snow day (which is rare where I live). Can't wait for PLA and even more so I can't wait for the movie. I feel that's a game that no two play throughs will be remotely similar. You honestly make the best videos and make me love Pokemon even more than I already do.
Amazing work, Matt! I can tell that making this took way more effort than people might realize, but you managed to fill this with an amazing number of jokes, and preserved memories that will become more valuable over time. Young Matt might have considered the wait between BDSP and Legends to be agonizing, but really the window of time between the releases is way too small.
Hey Matt I’m not sure if you’ll see this or not but I’ve been struggling with depression for most of my life but watching your videos never fails to make me feel better. Anyway you’ve inspired me to get a gameboy sp and today it came and I couldn’t be happier to just play fire red and watch your movies. Thanks for being such a cool guy, Matt.
Clicked on the video as soon as I saw it in my subscriptions bc I know an Absol vid never disappoints! Even in the first few minutes, you so perfectly encapsulated what it was like waiting for the originals all those years ago. Keep up the fantastic work!
Hey Matt, just wanted to tell you a quick and wholeheartly thank you for your content! I only recently found you through your alcremie-video and then started bingewatching your content because its all so calming and wholesome. I never really shinyhunted before but after watching all your videos I thought I might give it a try and was able to breed a shiny impidimp after 780 eggs (masudamethod, as I am still quite new and scared of full odds :D) and I absolutely love it! Thank you for all your time you put into your videos to entertain us :)
The Palkia battle brings back memories. I caught the legendary with a master ball, and then my cousin called me weak for doing so, so I made an oath to catch all Pokemon with normal PokeBalls alone. I still stand by that oath. Lol.
I have a personal goal to slow down and enjoy things more, and Absol really inspires me in this. He just seems so happy and engaged in every moment of playing games, these movies are such a great experience to watch
These movies bring me such joy, you perfectly describe the wonder that I myself feel whenever I play a pokemon game. Bravo!!! Can't wait for the next one!
These videos always remind me how much joy and unity this franchise brings to so many people, these videos always cheer me up during the bumps in life and I'm sure it does the same to so many others. Thanks again for doing what you do, this was a fun watch
37:08 also fun fact : we know that in-game he's 27, but one of the scientists in the TG HQ tells us that the Galactic business thingy (I forgot the name of the company sorry) started 5 years ago, which means that he started being a leader at 22!
Probably one of, if not your best movie so far Matt. I had such a blast watching it; it made me feel nostalgia for not only the original Sinnoh games but even just the morning of the remakes coming out, and remembering driving down to the game store super early to pick them up and relive Gen 4. My favorite video of yours so far :)
I was really looking forward to this video!! Im still trying to finish my shiny team in brilliant diamond before legends Arceus comes out but im so excited for that game!
Thanks for making another amazing and fun-to-watch movie! You did such a good job capturing that magical feeling of digging into a new Pokémon game for the first time, along with the usual expected humor and wit. I don't know exactly what it is that makes your content feel precisely the way it does, but it's just so special and unlike any other content I watch in the best way. Major kudos and always excited for whatever you put out next. Also, the Queen laugh and music for Fantina felt so perfect that I feel like I should've made that connection myself beforehand.
These movies are genuinely so intriguing. I stop playing my game just to watch these movies. So great work on how amazing you can make your movies into these excellent pieces of work. Keep it up and cant wait to see the Legends Arceus movie!
Wow! That was great! I loved hearing all the different stories from everyone you interviewed at that GameStop. I also loved everything else about this movie
Seeing these movies in my recommended are some of the best feelings in the world. ready to shiny hunt and watch another amazing video! Keep up the content and streams!
I was thinking about my favorite sinnoh memory at the beginning and I came to the conclusion that it was when I evolved my turtwig to Grotle in the first patch of grass just to see what the professor would say, then when you started to do the same with your piplup I thought it was hilarious
I absolutely love all of these movies and have been watching them multiple times. Thanks for documenting all these games and sharing the joy with us all!
I love this channel, your videos, editing style and personality so much. Wholesomeness off the charts and kinda makes me feel like a kid again. Thank you for sharing it with us here on youtube.
Im glad your channel is flourishing bro. You deserve all the success. I hope your channel blows up more. You look like a wholesome person and have the ability to let others feel your passion towards the game. Its amazing! I am not a pokemon fan but these pokemon movies are very entertaining for me to watch.
Just watched the movie for the first but not the last time. A great watch as always these movies, especially when hunting yourself. Always inspiring how much effort you put into them as well in terms of footage, jokes, narrative, editing and so on. Nice work as usual Matt!
I watch this video all the time to remember how fun Pokemon is. It's a masterpiece. Glad to see some genuine love thrown towards BDSP which are super fun remakes despite the supposed shortcomings.
today I had my first Baja Blast. I didn't know they were a thing until watching this channel. In celebration, I'm watching the totally-not-sponsored-by-Mt-Dew video about gen 4 remakes. so... thanks Absol!
I love the thumbnail of this video. The sprite of you as if it were in diamond and pearl is amazing! Can't wait for the Arceus movie as well! Keep up the great work!
Would you ever consider an “Absolute Plays” movie for the first 3 gen games? These movies have kept me company on my lonely night shifts and long runs more times than I can count - I even listened to them to get me through the 4 hours of an ultramarathon! Would be incredible to relive those gb/gbc/gba games of my childhood through your eyes, and see all your 1/8192 shiny encounters!! Thanks for all you do Absol, I’m truly grateful for all your hard work :)
I've never had a single unique Mountain Dew flavor but after binge watching your entire channel after not checking it for years... You have convinced me that I need to bust a mission to find a unique/new Dew. Thank you for inspiring me. I'm shiny hunting for Bill's Eevee in HeartGold while I watch ever single video you have up.
These movies are always the most exciting part of a new pokemon game! I cannot fathom the amount of work it takes to make these things, but know that we love them, Matt!
Ah, I'm so happy this is up. Your content just makes me so happy, and that intro section is a perfect example why. Your content is nothing but pure joy :)
i’ve been binge watching a lot of your videos lately, i absolutely love the effort that goes into your movies and i love your sense of humor as well! you are so dedicated to the pokégrind and i admire it a lot. thanks for what you do!
Loved sinnoh as a kid, still nostalgic about gen 4, and this game reaaaallly didn’t do it for me but I was so happy to watch you enjoy yourself to the fullest, thanks for another movie
I MISSED THE UPLOAD 2 DAYS AGO NOOOOO. I've been waiting for this to come out! I already know I'm going to end up listening to it as background noise 5 more times easily, all your videos are so addicting!
Love how the movie turned out! Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your genuine enthusiasm in your content, life's been pretty rough for me lately but your videos always cheer me up and makes me love the pokemon games even more too.
dude that water flavored mountain dew you drank looked incredible! 12/10 graphics on that liquid!! so cool to see your experience with BDSP, also glad to see you also read all the canalave archive books!
This channel is life now...I cannot stop watching lol great wholesome content just makes me wish I had a friend like you. I'm excited about pokemon the way you are..good stuff as always you've gotten me thru quite a few hunts.
I have been waiting so long for this I love watching your play through movies and I can play/watch this while playing original diamond 😁 your definitely my favorite Pokémon youtuber/player on this app! :)
It's finally out! I'm so excited to watch this and glad it came out before legends Arceus released so I don't have to choose between watching this or playing the new game
I’ve been stuck at the briefcase since midnight of the games release all for a pink monkey, i hope the wish of good luck at 15:35 makes this go even a little quicker, thank you Matt.
Found this channel a few days ago and honestly??? Inspired to start shooting Pokemon videos again like back in high school. I love how you savor every detail and roll with whatever the games throw at you. Would I have thought to shoot with a headlamp when venturing into the underground? No. No, I would not.
Dude I love your vids, It wasn't till recently that I even started participating in online communities and I'm 25. Diamond and pearl were monumental towards my childhood, I think its the first game I got 100+ hours in lmaooo
OMFG THE CHIBI ROBO NIGHT SOUND EFFECT AT 13:04 😍 People can play the most random sound effects and I tend to know exactly what game they come from and which sound effect they are. Like the sound effect of sending a recruitment message to one of the DS games when you have the Manaphy egg from Pokémon Ranger (Also used at one point during the story of Pokémon Ranger Guardian Signs). Or like the healing sound effect from Sonic Battle, lmao.
i really do like these games. Yes, the lack of platinum stuff present is a bit dissapointing, as is the fact that no single pokemon of gen 5+ is present. replaying alpha sapphire recently, with gen 5 pokes present in the very late game was really cool. But the expansion of the underground was really great. And i loved grinding out everything of Ramanas park. And the final thing, which is technically not a part of the game, but through discord chats, i traded with many many people, many things. For the first time since the original silver, i completed the pokedex, and even made a living dex for the first time. Interacting with legends arceus through home was also great. And finally, i love making eggs for a new team, and trading that in for a new playthrough, which with a complete pokedex, i can now do easily, and have done already quite a handful, including some shinies. Yes, i really wished later gen pokemon were included, even if only in the postgame, but still, this game has given me, and is still giving me a lot of fun.
I didn’t know about the no guard fishing thing!! This’ll make my shiny Magikarp hunt go so much faster!! I always love watching these movies you make because your enjoyment of these games is contagious!! I haven’t played BDSP in a little bit but now I immediately want to pick up my Switch and continue with it! Your videos are amazing and they never fail to brighten my day. Great work as always, can’t wait for the next one!
From watching this movie I've realized that Fantina's Drifblim has the ability Aftermath, and you fight her after doing the math gym puzzles
you're onto something here

Got this game on christmas 21 months ago, still on the breifcase simulator and I have no idea what these games are like! Wish I could play them!
Pining Shearl fucking killed me
today I had my first Baja Blast.
I love Absols videos cause when I watch them at night and I see him riding his bike at sunset it makes me feel so happy 😭
You are the best dude. Thank you for giving us the most genuine recap of the game we all love. 🥰
These movies are always the most exciting part of a new pokemon game! I cannot fathom the amount of work it takes to make these things, but know that we love them, Matt!
You're playthrough movies are some of my favorite things on RUclips
I am glad we have confirmed that Matt will have at least one dancing scene in every movie now. I am here for it.
57:44 Ik I'm a bit late but this sequence is one of the best parts of any AbsolBlogs movie, heck maybe even out of all the videos.
Nothing makes my day like a new upload from Mr. Blogs Pokemon, let alone a movie!
Love your content, keep it up
Ah, I'm so happy this is up.
Bro this is the perfect time to have this video released, I'm very sick with the flu and this is surprisingly helpful. Thanks absol your epic.
Not gonna lie, Mr. Absol B. Pokemon, I was not expecting you to be the king of Team Plasma
Loved sinnoh as a kid, still nostalgic about gen 4, and this game reaaaallly didn’t do it for me but I was so happy to watch you enjoy yourself to the fullest, thanks for another movie
33:06 The Macy Parade will always be my favorite parade, also Absol your content is legendary man. 👍
Love to see it. You can tell how much effort Matt puts into these videos
Seeing someone actually like bdsp is beautiful, makes me happy since bd was my first intro to Sinnoh
I MISSED THE UPLOAD 2 DAYS AGO NOOOOO. I've been waiting for this to come out! I already know I'm going to end up listening to it as background noise 5 more times easily, all your videos are so addicting!
49:30 Damn, the fact you connected that has me in awe!
Can't even express how excited I've been for this movie
Your enthusiasm's contagious!
Dude, I cannot believe you straight up called how your supposed to find Manaphy in Legends:Arceus. Bravo my guy
Love how the movie turned out! Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your genuine enthusiasm in your content, life's been pretty rough for me lately but your videos always cheer me up and makes me love the pokemon games even more too.
Sana on a Pokémon video
dude that water flavored mountain dew you drank looked incredible! 12/10 graphics on that liquid!! so cool to see your experience with BDSP, also glad to see you also read all the canalave archive books!
I've been looking forward to seeing this movie, keep up the amazing work buddy and i can't wait to see more videos in the future
This channel is life now...I cannot stop watching lol great wholesome content just makes me wish I had a friend like you. I'm excited about pokemon the way you are..good stuff as always you've gotten me thru quite a few hunts.
Been waiting for as long as u as a child for this
Your movies are always the best. I love your way of storytelling and humour. 10/10 would watch again
I spent 60 hours in the briefcase simulator then played the game on a different profile and it sucked. After that I just quit
He actually called the Manaphy quest….. wow
Love the video. Definitely didn't expect the interviews, and I would kill to have you interview more people about pokemon.
I have been waiting so long for this I love watching your play through movies and I can play/watch this while playing original diamond 😁 your definitely my favorite Pokémon youtuber/player on this app! :)
It's finally out! I'm so excited to watch this and glad it came out before legends Arceus released so I don't have to choose between watching this or playing the new game
ahhhh my favorite youtuber alongside my favorite region. i have watched this video way to amny times but its my fav video on your channel. thank you
I hope these dances become tradition for every gameplay movie bc its such a vibe. Irl i start hyping you up through the screen like “get it!!”
I’ve been stuck at the briefcase since midnight of the games release all for a pink monkey, i hope the wish of good luck at 15:35 makes this go even a little quicker, thank you Matt.
I believe you can do it!
You know something dramatic is about happen when there is the change in music.
OMFG THE CHIBI ROBO NIGHT SOUND EFFECT AT 13:04 😍
People can play the most random sound effects and I tend to know exactly what game they come from and which sound effect they are. Like the sound effect of sending a recruitment message to one of the DS games when you have the Manaphy egg from Pokémon Ranger (Also used at one point during the story of Pokémon Ranger Guardian Signs). Or like the healing sound effect from Sonic Battle, lmao.
35:00 I did NOT expect to see a score hero signature poster in the wild, that's so awesome LOL
SO glad someone recognized it!! I printed that out back in 2009 when I was SUPER into all the plastic guitar gaming
7:00 Ah yes my favourite pokemon game: Pining Shearl
i really do like these games.
I'm glad I got to bear witness to the great Dig-off of 2021
I didn’t know about the no guard fishing thing!!
This is one of my favorite SmellvinBlogsPokemon videos
