It may not be the best, but Leviathan's Breath has been my favorite heavy to use in PvP since it came out. The long draw time combined with how fast the arrow travels just feels so satisfying to land kills with. Being able to 1-shot supers from across the map is pretty funny too
I literally opened this to see if Levi's was mentioned; it's pretty much an on-demand rocket launcher with the AOE, and you get two shots. Honestly my go-to
Typhon GL5 is great for a heavy weapon. Volatile launch and High Explosive Ordnance gives you 75 blast radius, which will kill all guardians at all resilience thresholds with explosive damage alone (not even counting direct impact damage). You can get Impulse Amplifier in the third column and then get Chill Clip in the fourth column. High Explosive Ordnance lowering the base magazine and a heavy pull in crucible guarantees that two of your three shots are Chill Clip rounds, so you can splash people and slow them if not killing outright. Add either a Velocity, Handling, or Blast Radius masterwork, and it's a complete weapon. Also, you can farm this at the Gunsmith with engrams, so it's easier to obtain than a Cataphract.

I can confirm: Line in the Sand with Moving Target Opening Shot is like having an extra sniper on standby (with five rounds.) I've caught so many people off-guard not expecting a linear in crucible.
Vex mytho when charged is some of the most free kills you will ever hit in your life lol. With so many people playing passive now adays, if you're good at getting picks and your teammates fumbled stopping a revive you can just go wipe the enemy team again out of spite with even less effort than the first time lol. It especially comes into play when they're are good special options in the kinetic slot since a lot of pvp players downplay double primary.
I love using swords, until I swing at someone and do no damage. Consistently happens too. Although I found that the heavy attack with vortex frame has never wiffed for me... yet.
Noteworthy for edge transit is that it can drop with sticky nades, combined with full court lets you leave 1 shotting traps. Definitely not the best but really funny
6:07 Time outside the barrel, is how someone else explained it. Caught a video, I believe, where the person was explaining how sticky grenades and full court synergized. Apparently the game doesn't track how far they travel, but how long since they left the barrel before they explode. So, if you fire them right at your feet, they will deal more damage the longer they sit there before exploding.
Remember when there was talks of "added effects" on the Worthy release Trials weapons? I still believe in it with the "better tracking module" on Tomorrow's Answer. Also in general the beefy rocket stats are nice
I've been using Rockets or GL's pretty much religiously. Always keep an eye out for Chain Reaction, Destabilising Rounds, Incandescent, Cluster Bombs, etc to either get multi kills or prime survivors for easy clean ups. I can't remember what it's called the Guardian Games Wave Frame? You can get Chain Reaction x Voltshot that one. Unless people have inspected you before hand I've had a few kills where people try to run towards me, they think the GL will go over them but they get caught with the wave.
Call me a madman but I LOVE using winterbite in crucible. It used to just be, "imo its the best stasis heavy especially out of the exotics and the more we get stasis scouts with headstone and good pairing perks the less I want to use wicked implement" but now its "you were ready for my 120 scout, maybe my sidearm, but you definitely weren't ready for a flurry of glaive melees". I don't need heavy ammo to combo a mofo to death with a sharp stick lol
5:15 Fire and Forget is also really nice (origin trait for range and handling) - you can slap Chill Clip on there as a utility to slow down a moving super/other HVT. On the topic of Commemoration, if you spec out for max range with Surplus/Under Pressure, it's stupid hard to miss crits with that, so another way you can easily nab 4+ kills with a single mag.
Roar of the bear is my favorite rocket, everything else doesnt feel as consistent outside dragons breath. Being able to shut down massive areas and being able to build into ignitions is nice. Microcosm seems to cook but i havent tested it directly to hammerhead yet
Just one minor correction Cam, impulse and full court don’t pair, but it’s not distance, its due to full court having an activation time of 0.2 seconds, and only then increasing till the damage maxes out at 1.1 seconds of travel time. The massively increased velocity of impulse amp means it impacts before the damage can ramp up.
Sticky nade edge transit with destab/ chain reaction. I get multis every so often, but the amount of times I just drop it somewhere or even panic dump before death and someone walks over it like 10 seconds later for the kill is hilarious to me.
On console…I am using Memory Interdict with Spike/Impulse/Chain Reaction in 6’s. Has Prox grenades too hut since the nerf I had to switch to Spike and just aim better. Amassed over 6300 kills with that thing. Chain gives higher chance for multis…and actually cleared 4 (or 5?) off a zone in IB yesterday. Just dumped the whole mag and ran, else I was definitely dying. In 3’s I am using Unwavering Duty with Incandescent but maybe I should try Hammerhead
My favorite pvp heavy was Typhon with impulse and sticky nades I feel like sticky nades increase the projectile size, don't have any evidence it just feels easier to hit things in a similar way to proxy nades but with the added potential of zoning a doorway or setting a trap. Then I got the upgrade of edge transit, sticky nades with impulse and full court. Makes traps much more effective as their damage ramps up when a sticky nade is sitting on a wall or the floor. I've taken out some supers with it. It's my new favorite

I actually go slideshot on briars cuz since ur running double targeting and double dex and triple unflinching anyways (at least I do) when u slide it feels like the OG linear flinch resist like u do NOT get flinched off it’s insane. I was wondering about the origin trait buffing condish so thats an easy way to circumvent the handling nerf just done to condish. I didnt know that so glad that works. 😂😂

To be honest I haven't given much thought on what heavy ammo weapon I bring in PvP, I've just defaulted to using a roar of the bear with tracking module/cluster bomb. It's decent but like I said, I haven't given much thought to it.
Ik this ain’t a legendary, but I’ve been having a blast sniping with Whisper. 5 shots per pickup. It feels like you can hit heads even if you are off by a bit. Nearly 5 kills every time you get it. Also the 80 ae makes you hit jump shots like crazy. Headshot magnet
I prefer chain reaction on my Cataphract GL3- ever since the GL nerf making proximity grenades not 1-shot all resilience tiers, you’d *think* that Full Court would be the answer, but the hit registration on GLs is so forgiving that Spike Nades alone is enough. I’ve been running my personal adept god roll of Spike Grenades/Impulse Amplifier/Chain Reaction w/ Velocity MW and it straight up snipes people. Sure, without proximity grenades, there’s a tiny bit of a learning curve, but it allows you to get multikills if your enemy is grouped up, which happens a lot more than you’d think in 3v3 modes
Tldr personal ranking: Sword(with 3 peaking), Heavy machine gun w/ ammon gen, Heavy Gl (cataract), sword with no 3 peaks, rockets w/ splash perks. I personally chose cataract gl as favorite/best heavy weapon. With impulse and chain reaction and spike grenades. At 78 Blast Radiusthat I can pretty consistently find double down with a really well place nade or two. And then pace my final shot to 1 tap the last. In general I think machine gun with ammo refund and stacking pers are best in slot effectively pulling nearly 10 kills of the wall and always being lethal no matter the ammo count. I funnily enough find that I can out play eager edge sword a decent bit of the time by collapsing on them when they ship in really agro. But if someone decides to 3 peak and be good with their primary then I mind shit out of luck unless I win by mind gaming them into a bad decision. Traditional linear feel absolutely god awful to me. I got a really good roll of Line in the sand and tried it out. Truly could not hit anything.

Why on earth they thought it would be a good idea to buff machine gun dmg in pvp is beyond me. I remember when you could get the crispy 4-crit with og hammerhead if you had rampage x2 built up, what an amazing gun. Now it's just a neutral 4 crit and it's not satisfying anymore. Power weapons can't be magic wands that delete people you point them at. They should be fearsome, but not uncounterable.
I haven't played PVP since the hunters were throwing abilities everywhere And now I have to deal with heavy ammo in iron banner, I just want a game with no Heavy Ammo, This is getting annoying 🤦🏾♂️

Chill clip only applies to the top of the magazine and you usually only have 3 shots

Briars Contempt has been my go to heavy this season. I'm not using conditional but it just just feels good. Playing on controller.
Cataclysmic with enhanced No Distractions, and Corrective Measure with Dynamic Sway Reduction and High Impact Reserves are my fave legendary heavies

Deathbringer is easily one of my favorite exotic power weapons. Gamers don't look up so you always get a few kills

I have that exact hammerhead, but with 85 range lol. Even in normal crucible, those perks make it so easy to farm kills.

Prospector is my baby. It doesn’t 1 tap consistently but gives wall hacks on burn and can shut people out of a fight if they see it or r burning

heavy GLs can still one tap when blast radius is over 70.
