TEXIE and Ana are back! When we first met the couple, they discussed the judgement and scrutiny that they receive by being in a mixed-height relationship. Unfortunately, the backlash hasn't stopped. Revealing some of the comments that Ana receives, Texie told Truly: "She gets people asking her all the time, 'Why are you with Texie? She's small, she looks like a child, don't you feel disgusted sometimes?'" Determined to ignore the hate, the pair have exciting news - they're engaged! Today, we'll follow the couple as they go wedding dress shopping, but Texie's short 3ft 6" height means finding a suitable dress will create obstacles that many brides don't face. Speaking about her worries, Texie feared: "It's going to swallow me. It's not going to fit. I'm going to get upset." Will Texie get her dream dress?

Texie is an amazing example of the human body adapting to adverse circumstances. She was born with this bone issue, and instead of still growing and stretching her thin bones too far, her body stopped growing and made do with what it had to work with. She looks healthy and vivacious, and her bones aren't slowing her down one bit! KEEP ROCKING!

I’m not as small as her but as someone 4’8 whose been searching g for a dress just to be turned down in every store, and told I should just wear a children’s dress for my wedding this hit home. I unfortunately never found a store willing, but my lovely seamstress friend is making me my dream dress from scratch

Find somewhere that isn't just catering to "mid-range" and actually "make" dresses. I know a few girls over the years who are that height and one of my nans was that height also,(yeah she got married 80odd years ago but even so..) there's loads of small people still. I know 2 fellas who are under 5ft and my grandad was only 5ft.. yeah people have generally got taller but there's still people who are at the smaller end of the scale... As a disabled person, I have been told I'll never find love and I'm not a little person. I can't imagine the struggles she must have had in her life. I'm glad she found her person
For some reason so many people find the idea of us disabled people finding love gross or unnatural, or think we should just date each other. It's so hard to find someone who understands you and makes an effort without treating you like a charity case or a child so I'm so happy Texie has found this happiness, really an inspiration to all of us :')
I’m autistic and I met my best friend when I was getting my medication at a health clinic, I’m only 15 so I can’t say that I’ve personally experienced life properly but my friend is 4’2 and she’s the nicest person I’ve ever met, the people at her school made fun of her so much that she had to get homeschooled, the same happened to me so we really connected over that, people assume I only say nice things about her because she’s a little person but I genuinely see her for who she is and I just don’t understand why people discriminate based on looks.. I hope to be friends with her for as long as we live, I wish it was easy to get rid of all these issues.. like racism(I’m Asian-British I’ve personally never experienced racism but I’ve seen it happen) ableism, ageism.. I don’t understand why we can’t all just accept everyone is different, I’m so sorry I can’t even imagine what you have gone through and hearing all this from a kid probably won’t make you think anything but no matter what please keep the people you have now close to you and remember no matter how many people make fun of you, in this day and age more people will have your back than ever :)
Dating while disabled in general is hard because some people look at you like a freak ik sometimes I feel bad for my husband when he has to take care of me sometimes but there is somebody out there for everyone it’s just a matter of time and looking 😊

As an orthopedic shoemaker I really don’t get why it is so hard to find a dress for her. All she did was fitting her a normal dress. Why couldn’t the other shops provide this service?

I agree! Beyond making a dress from scratch, its theoretically much easier to fit a dress smaller than it is bigger
Honestly my thought was the best route would be having one made completely custom- you get to pick all the specific features you love about different dresses and it fits like a glove. Less material use & time spent on construction also should translate to a lower price that way too, so it may not be any more expensive than having an existing dress heavily altered.
It has to do with their alteration department. Most dresses can only be taken in or let out so much. It is harder to alter these dresses bc of beading, lace, crystals, etc.
Seamstress here. Fitting a dress/taking it in to fit her body size should not be hard, as long as the dress was not too big. I'm sure most bridal shops should have a least a few dresses in size 0-2, that can't be too far off from her size. People just didn't want to do it probably because they don't know how. Instead of challenging themselves they just said no.
I wish more people thought like you. I'm disabled and with two different sized feet and if I need dress shoes, I have to buy two different pairs. Clothes aren't as bad but that's mainly because I only wear jeans and shirts.

I’m 5’0 which isn’t considered a little person. And even I got teased growing up and into my mid 20s. I never understood why people thought me being short was so funny. And I would wear flats a lot. Once I bought a pair of heals and my “friend” said “aww, you’re finally a woman!” I was 25.

I'm the same height girl. I call people out on that shit, if you're not confrontational, it takes a little bit, but certain things cross the line.
I don't mind minor height jokes like "you're so tiny", or "grab insert my name here, only she can do it" or whatnot, but insinuating I'm not an adult or I'm literally less of a person is something that I call people stupid for. I'm short, not a preteen and my height doesn't detract from carrying out jobs and responsibilities, just reaching the top shelves without a stool.
Love is love, no matter who you love. I think you can tell at first glance that she's not a child, but a woman of small stature. Love is the greatest miracle in the world because it comes in many different forms. Love really doesn't judge, only people do that with their prejudices. The world needs much more love and benevolent tolerance, then the world would be a much better place.

To make you feel better, I've once read a story about a tall woman who was in a relationship with a short man. The woman was not worried about the man's height, and instead was attracted to the man's confidence and looks. They broke up a long time ago, but the relationship wasn't toxic. I'm also admittedly a bit insecure about how a tall woman would feel about me, but I use this story to remind myself that height is just an illusion in relationships, as it doesn't determine a person's worth at all.

I'm missing the controversy here. For a second there I thought this was going to be an adult in love with a child but no it's just too beautiful lovely ladies expressing their love. For each other i'm happy for them.
Some people are of the mind that because people like Texie "look like children" that anyone attracted to them must be attracted to them BECAUSE they "look like children".
