[ CORRECTION ] It's not available through Steam. It's on the Epic game store. There's no Epic game store shenanigans on PS5 though. Ie you don't need an Epic account ot play online. [ UPDATE 09/06/24 ] I've had a couple of crashes on PS5. I never lost any data and only it happens outside of the racing.
There’s something to be said about the visuals of the first game, I enjoyed the style. But yes the graphics in this sequel are gorgeous. Love that they no longer require fuel and that, my experience so far, acquiring the blue coins is far easier. And especially love that they widened the roads, that was always a brutal first lap in the game trying get clear of the slower competitors. Driving feels far more pleasant and less a nail biter. I’m still attempting to unlock all the trophies of the first game but the later stages are like 3/4ths luck when it comes to getting both coins and first place. Feeling a lot more confident I can accomplish this in the sequel… though I haven’t looked up all the requirements of the hidden trophies yet to be unlocked yet.
I've about 98% completed the world tour and I believe I've unlocked everything, unless there is something hidden to unlock by completing it 100%. Some of the late game blue coin and trials are very difficult. I haven't got gold trophies in all the tournaments yet but getting close.
2 was so far under my radar that i thought it just dropped for all platforms a few days ago lmao Instant buy for me tho, the first one was such a nostalgia trip after playing out run(ners) and top gear games as a kid
A lot of people say that horizon chase is based on, or like, outrun, But it’s absolutely not in any way. It’s clearly based on top gear on SNES, another very excellent racer. Ultimately for outrun outrun 2 is as good as it gets when it comes to modern outrun style games.
I love this kind of racer but I found the original impossibly hard. The tracks became too winding and the opponents still lightning fast on them and I simply couldn't progress in the World Tour after a while. I'm afraid I'd be stuck in this one as well.
I got the Platinum Trophy for HCT 1 a couple of weeks ago, I loved the game but I can confirm it gets very repetitive, there's Endurance challenges and 3 different categories of Tournaments plus the World Map, I highly recommended to do the upgrades races once you have them available and then continue with the regular races, you'll have better chance for winning later stages. HCT2 it's ridiculous easier, no Endurance, just Tournament and World Tour, it's way shorter than 1, I got the Platinum last night, you don't have to grind that many races as in 1,still got it's charm, very fun, and it's on discount!!!
First game is brutal, not only does it require great reflexes but also memorization if you want to collect all of the blue coins. I’d have to repeat levels multiple times and plan for what turn I want to be on left or right side of road. I’d sometimes let cars pass me just so I could collect all the coins and then concentrate solely on gaining back the lost time. I enjoy the game enough though that I’m still attempting to get that platinum trophy… though those later stages I just don’t know if I can do it. This sequel game is a breeze compared to that. Even the simple changes of eliminating the fuel requirement and widening the roads helped bring the difficulty way down. You can focus more on the race rather than logistics.
I wish they made new stages dlc with jump racing tracks something like hot wheels on forza and a mode to bump into cars from the side to do revenge takedowns like in burnout 3
Not nearly as punishing, or maybe I just enjoyed it more so it doesn't seem as tough. I managed to play through the world tour in about 3 hours with mostly gold medals. Took me almost as long to get gold in everything though.
@@goukigod I’ll give it a go then. I remember the game being in Apple Arcade but I’ve stopped subscribing to it months ago. Maybe it’s time to get back in for a few months.

I must admit that until the marketing team reached out to me about reviewing it, I didn't know about it either.
I will get it later, I still miss OutRun so much, and I wish any of these dev would take that specific route instead of just lap racing
You should check out Slipstream

I don't think it's anywhere near as punishing.

1st one was beautiful game on ps4..
Now im getting it on ps5 ❤
This looks insanely good omg
I would also suggest Victory Heat Rally and Slipstream. Super Woden GP2 for overhead fans.
Is there OFFLINE 2 player split screen multiplayer?
Yes
How did I miss this? ? Loved the first game so much. Shame it is not on Steam so Series X it is. So fun with local multiplayer.
Quando vão lançar esse game para android?
I wish they made new stages dlc with jump racing tracks something like hot wheels on forza and a mode to bump into cars from the side to do revenge takedowns like in burnout 3
That would be incredible
I heard there are several hickups in the frame rare? Is this also true for the seriesx version?
I saw a few comments about that for the switch version. Can't comment on the Xbox version but PS5 is flawless.
How hard is it now? I remembered I dropped the first game due to difficulty getting out of hand on the latter half of the world stages.

@NeroVingian40 it looks fun, but it also looks like it lost some of its retro look. It looks more like n64 racing now.
It's super easy, way shorter than 1 in world map, tournaments, there's no endurance on this one, not as grinding as 1
Is the gameplay video running at normal speed?
Looks too fast to be playable
Yes. Some of the tracks feel like that at first but it's not as hard as it might look.
@@goukigod thanks. Picked up the game based on your review
Pretty fun so far
Man, I really want to get into the game, but too bad it's not available on Steam yet.
Ahh my bad, it's through EPIC 😭
Love the first game on mobile. Looking forward to the new one. Brilliant review. ❤😊
Hope you enjoy it!
@@goukigod Cheers mate
Game is amazing!
Indeed!
It's still not a Outrun, yet 👌🏻
No, not sure anything will equal that if you ask me.
@ The formula has successfully obtained only in Outrun Coast 2 Coast 🙆🏻👌🏻🥹
Just wish I could buy the game upfront instead of subscribing to apple arcade
still no pit stops.............................
GAaaaaaah!
And that's a buy
❤
