This game is one of the earliest memory of me playing racing game, knowing how much i love the movie and the franchise i expect good things about this game and i was right. From the location of the race, the power ups, the short cut, the characters (Mr.Potato is my favourite but i gotta say Lenny is adorable too). The only critique about this game is the length of the stages, 11 stages grandprix, also you need to keep switching the character to move on instead of just finishes one character?! One thing that maybe they could add to this game is to give individuality of each characters, because now it’s just like same car different color. Overall i give this game 9/10. Side note, i like that it seems the VA is the same as in the animation.
Toy Story gets its own racing game, following what appeared to be a trend at one point, with various franchises getting “Mario Kart” clone racing games. This one is no exception. What makes this racing game unique is that it uses the various elements of the franchise for all it’s worth throughout the game, from the powerups, locations, variety of characters to play as, to the various missions. It keeps things interesting with what it offers, but once cleared, the replay value is low. The graphics are fine for the system it’s on, the music is nice to listen to, and it’s nice that they got some of the voice actors from the movie to reprise their roles for this game. The weakness of this game seems to come from the controls. At times, they seem a little clunky, not very smooth and do take getting used to. Overall, a unique racing game that will entertain fans of the Toy Story franchise and of racing games in general.
Yeah you wouldn't think that a racing game this decent would come from the devs behind Sonic R despite this being just a movie tie in (a fairly late one but non the less)
This game was my entire childhood, getting to see all the levels and unlocks is amazing - I got stuck and never unlocked some of the characters. The menu music omg
Hoo boy, I'll need breaks watching this one. 😂 As a child, I remember debating with myself as to whether I should buy this or not. I decided against it, after being disappointed by the _Buzz Lightyear of Star Command_ game. Seeing footage of it now, I'm kind of intrigued. It's got a nice vibe to it, looks pretty fun, might give it a go on an emulator some time. I'd actually really like to understand what the development history of this was; particularly because it's from 2001, but it's completely focused on *the 1995 film's characters and locations.* Either this was some weird licencing issue or it was a delayed game, but either way I'm truly curious.
I don't have this particular kart racing game and I actually never got the chance to play this game yet either, but I have heard of it though since I'm also aware of this game and I would really like to try this game out myself too sometime since I'm a huge fan myself of the Toy Story franchise and all.
@@JLewis95 That's cool then and thanks for letting me know too. That's also really nice that the PS3 Store is still open for the time being although it would also be really nice if this game ever gets ported over to the PS4 and PS5 consoles next, just like with Toy Story 2.
@@JLewis95 I see then and I'm sorry to hear about that too. I thought users were still able to add funds though to their PSN accounts on the PS3 Store since the storefront itself is still active and everything so far. Hopefully you'll be able to purchase the game soon sometime. If the game ever gets ported over to the PS4 and PS5 consoles next, I might just purchase and download the game from the PS Store to play on the PS4 and PS5 systems instead.

Whoa! I did NOT expect this longplay to be THIS long!
Yeah, same here!
@@zzz43344 10 hours, lmao.
Tell me about it. It took me 4 days to record this game.
I remember playing this game on my 8th birthday in December 2001. Good childhood memories.
Loved this game back in the day and all the callback levels to the Toy Story 2 game.
For a Kart racer this was surprisingly fun as a kid. I loved this game.
I know that this game is 23 years old, but the nostalgia is hitting me like a wrecking ball. Played this so much in my youth.
Loved playing this game as a kid. Was a great competition to Crash Team Racing

Toy Story Racer (PS1) Longplay
Time: 10:30:59
Even with the worst texture warping I've ever seen this game looks amazing. I imagine it was incredible on a CRT TV.
Well, now we know why the Toy Story characters know about racing in Disney Speedstorm.

Toy Story And Mario Kart At The Same Time.
Loved toy story movies, my favorite.
Imagine if there's crossover between Toy Story Racing And Crash Team Racing ❤❤❤
Wish there’s a port on modern platforms

I could never figure out those damn jigsaw puzzles at the end.
This game is very similar to Mario Kart.

It's just $5.99 on the PS3 store.

@pepsidude8919 Unfortunately I had trouble buying it. Won't let me add funds to my PS3 account.
