Ryu wearing Oro's cloak is a nice touch. I guess Oro's Third Strike ending was canon. It would be neat if Ryu gets new moves/animations to reflect this.
When Luke says "This journey doesnt have a real ending" i felt that. Like yea, thats me knowing im never "getting good" at fighting games but enjoying the hell out of them anyway
That's been the message of SF since Ryu's ending in II: There's no such thing as "getting good". You fight, win, lose, train, get better and repeat for as long as you can. "Celebration means nothing to him. The fight is all."
@@romiarkan450 I think the profoundity in fighting games is the lack of a true end. Look at Chun. She's gone from working as a cop, to avenging her father's death, to taking care, proecting and nurturing the next generation and in this game she'll be the badass kung-fu master who teaches the young upstarts. Life doesn't give us endings, but critical points from which we grow and improve as people.

Its actually really wholesome to see Max reacting with the excitement of a child to the gameplay trailer. Its nice to have something bring that part of us out.
It's funny because, I was pretty hyped to watch it too, I watched the trailer like 5 times lol, and then I was like "I gotta see what Max has to say", and his reaction was uploaded to YT and I was right in tune with him in how he reacted lol, it's the same feel you'd get when you were a kid and you met up with your friends in school and you're like "did you see that new trailer???" hahaha.
This is totally taking place after street fighter third strike. That girl Chun is fighting is Li-fen her adopted daughter grown up cause Chun is retired now and a martial arts teacher. Jamie looks up to Yun and Yang and is a protector of his community. Ryu totally trained with Oro and has a sash like him now. This game looks sick!
You don't know how happy I am that Capcom finally returned to the "street" aesthetic that they dropped after third strike. The paint splatters on what looks to be returning Crush Counter, the graffiti visual effects. The characters all look so much smoother compared to how blocky they looked in 4 and 5. The more cinematic looking supers...I wasn't that excited for 5 with how it was advertised, but this? This looks fantastic.
The aesthetics are so pleasing. But then again, SFIV and SFV didn't really catch my attention, it felt weird for me since I'm not a hardcore fan. But SFVI has drawn my attention again
I don't know if they "returned" to it, this looks fresh and new, bringing back old mechanics. SF never really looked like it had a "street" style, especially "street punk", it was just holding to the name and animations on their characters, closest may be SFIV or SFXT with its heavy focus on styling the mechanics and their trailers, not SFIII or earlier. I'd say it's fresh that for the first time they're actually focusing on their name even if it was never meant to be focused on for graphics style.

I'm honestly really impressed. I love the fact that they aged Ryu and Chun a bit finally and they actually look different, love that they finally added a drunken master character, and the "open world" is definitely a surprise for sure. The game looks really fun from what i'm seeing here. Edit: Also DAMND making an appearance was definitely unexpected, hope he makes it into the roster, he's one of the few really recognizable Final Fight characters that hasn't made it into SF yet.

I love the “aged” Chun Li. So awesome. Reminds me of SF3, where she is also older and she is training younger students. I wonder if SF6 will take place after SF3 in the canon?

While at least from the leaks, avoiding all SF3 characters. Makoto sadly ain’t really a fit for the hip hop style, and Yun and Yang… sigh, we get Jamie instead. Roster isn’t crazy exciting for me from the leak, but at least it feels like a more cohesive package than V this time.

There were so many rocky issues at the start of SF5. Bad netcode, miniscule roster, gameplay felt stale. Game just felt soulless at the start. None of the flair that 3rd strike or 4 had. Glad that they are making an active effort to give SF personality again. Luke's redesign looks great, and Jamie has a great design too. I only hope that they commit to this aesthetic because it's such a welcome return to the street culture
Max’s joy just made me enjoy this trailer even more for the second time. This game looks freakin amazing. Chun Li looks gorgeous and I love Ryu’s older design
The thing that gets me about the trailer is that Ryu and Chun-Li really do look like they're gotten older. Ryu looks more rugged and older (though that may only be because of the beard lol), while Chun-Li looks more... mature, I think. I love it so, so much
The more you watch the trailer slowed down, the more you appreciate all of the details and effects that they've added. Watching the trailer slowed down has actually brought my hype up even more.
Just by adding the parry system into this game is going to be wild when you get to watch high level gameplay! So far very impressed and excited that Max is getting hype!

As someone who doesn't play fighting games, this trailer makes me want to buy this game. A single player mode? This is how you get more casual gamers to try stuff like this.
Except the main thing is still going to be fighting. The only difference is you are going to walk to fight. Like idk what you guys are expecting. The game isn’t going to have the open world that respond to the player or be like gta.
Max said it and Yu Suzuki said it generations ago: When you can combine an action game with a fighting game they will no longer be niche. That's what Shenmue was.
there's a new modern control system that is welcoming to new players as well. You should definitely try it out, you may find a new passion in fighting games!
I never cared for SF either and I have to say, this is looking absolutely stellar. The mechanics actually look smooth and are very stylized, the hip-hop aesthetics just hitting all the sweet spots. I’m willing to try this out when it gets released.
The SF6 website got updated as well with the character bios, and it seems clear now that, story-wise, this game takes place after 3rd Strike: Ryu: "Ever training, this martial artist seeks true strength. I honestly hope Ryu finally takes on a student or something. He's done plenty of growing on his own, and finally teaching someone his own take on the "Ansatsuken" would be one big step forward in his development.
I'M TOO SCARED TO FIND OUT. Like think about how much ryu has changed in this game. Akuma is way older than Ryu, since he's the brother of Ryu and Ken's dead master.
Their attempt at realism in 5 was so weird. Like they clearly wanted to be more realistic, but made the cast very blocky and angular. I feel this fits better and they managed to fuse it with stylish visual effects too.
The new parry and “focus attack” looking stuff is actually apart of the new system for the game called the Drive System. So very similar to the V system but with mixes from the Focus System.
I've never been into Street Fighter (blasphemous, I know), but this looks phenomenal. I'm a sucker for the paint splatter effects, but what really gets me the most is just how _hard_ the hits look this time around. Every single punch lands with this huge, teeth-shattering impact and I really love that.
Love seeing Max so excited, makes me excited too! They sold me on the artstyle, wasn't too sure at first but they're really commiting to it and it shows. Love the return of the hip-hop, more urban feel that SF3 had.

This looks pretty interesting. It looks like a new street fighter i would imagine in the next gen with hyper realism combining with stylistic art and movement which is pretty cool, and it seems there doing some kind of hub world and custom character as well. Also glad there embracing the hip hop setting like third strike too. Glad there ageing up old characters as well. Overall, i'm interested in this game.
This game honestly made the State of Play worth watching for me. The rest was great too don’t get me wrong, but I’m so happy that the paint style thing wasn’t just for the trailer.

I think it's definitely a smart move to put the game on as many platforms as possible when they're basically having a generational transition with the characters. Some may be turned off at first but end up buying the game just because a close friend of them has it.
This is by far my favorite Max video now. You can tell how hype Max is, because his reactions are genuine. And he really loves and cares about these games. I'm with Max on that.

For the first time in years, I'm so excited for a fighting game. I haven't been this hype since MvC3 was announced. It really looks like they finally learned from their mistakes and are making something that's going to be amazing.
Okay so my theory, the part where purple tracksuit man fights a random guy is actually part of the online. I think as we run around the city we’ll be able to see other players character aswell and we’ll be able to challenge them to add some spontaneous PVP into the single player story

The 2v2 thing occurred to me as well, but seeing the whole trailer I don't think so. I think the match intro is just the two fighters walking in together.
They walk in like partners more than opponents but I don’t see how 2v2 would be implemented given the fighting system. Tagging within the match would feel too much like a mvc game.
Definitely Chun-Li was my highlight as well. She has been so much improved and looks amazingly beautiful in this game than any of the SF predecessors. They finally did her justice.

I guess late 90's to early 2000's entertainment is more accurate. It gives off a high energy vibrant vibe that you saw in entertainment and stuff like shopping malls with neon lights etc. Reminds me of being a kid again. Where entertainment was vibrant and entertaining for everyone. Kinda tough to explain but it's an vibe I have craved for sense being a kid and this screams just pure high energy fun.
Chun is thicker than before🙏🏾 The impact of the strikes remind me of Tekken--every punch and kick looks like it has the potential to break bones, I love it.

This is the concept that Street Fighter has been working for years. It felt like 4 and 5 have been trying, but never fully committed. It looks like the concept art they worked on years ago. A great mix of graffiti and pop minimalism, because of the colors and contrasts.
I am absolutely stoked about Street Fighter 6. Loving the new mechanics. Here's my understanding of what they are. 1. Basic Parry from SF3 2. A Focus Attack dromSF4 3. The colorful thing look like a Combo Breaker/ Burst type move. Some clips I've seen had characters performed that while being hit. Side note my hope for Sean just dropped after seeing Luke did that Shoryuken Dunk move. Not not only that, I've also saw... ****MASSIVE LEAK SPOILERS****** Luke's Critical Art has a him doing Sean's tackle and punch.
Two things I noticed, those extra characters in the beginning might be different creat-a-character options. Each of those character intros might be their open world intros when you meet them for the first time. I think it would be cool to unlock characters to use in other game modes by finding them in the open world.
An involved single player mode is def a selling point for me. I enjoy a lot about Street Fighter but I am not the biggest actual fan of playing the games since I don't want to devote the time to get good. If this game has a mode where I am just running around the city picking fights with people in single player I am down for that and will pick up the game.
why would you play street fighter, just to create a character and walk around a city fighting civilians? Did you play GTA 5 and think to yourself, "man I hope these prostitutes fight me and that it would be EPIC!!"

A very nice and surprising mixture of photo-realism and stylized art. I liked how SFII and III looked back in the day, but I was never a fan of IV and V especially artistically speaking. This looks very appealing imo.

Yeah! A Street Fighter game where you are actually playing as a street fighter. . . And do some fighting in the streets. Awesome single-player concept, hands down.
Oro did help train Ryu in the Street Fighter Udon comics. I think he even appeared to Ryu a couple of times in SF5. It wouldn't be far out if Oro passed the torch to Ryu after training him.
@@HenryM912 damn its been a long time since i played third strike. i like how it implies that Ryu has finally mastered the Satsui no Hado and the Power of Nothingness, making him have moves from both Oro and Gouken.
The single player adventure mode definitely reminds me of Beatdown: Fists of Vengeance that they did way back in PS2. Seems to play similarly even (it has both dedicated 1v1 fighting game-styled fights & 3D group brawls)!
@@MansMan42069 It's a bit rough around the edges, but yeah overall I enjoyed it! I have a feeling this mode in SF6 will work more or less like it, in parts at least. We already saw the player character going into a 1v1 fight with a street rando in this trailer, so that much has been confirmed for now. Hopefully it's done well enough & turn out to be something that'd be fun to chill around with inbetween doing online matches/ranked.
Amazing. Love the visuals. Good mix of more realism in the character models with stylised ink like art. Even the hits on impact are more subdued. Almost feels like a mix of Tekken and Street Fighter 😏
Jamie looks so sick, it looks like some of his moves are inspired by actual breakdancing moves which is in line with the hip hop aesthetic. Can't wait to see the other new fighters!
The game looks absolutely amazing, love the graffiti and paint and the overall hip hop aesthetic. Now imagine if instead of realistic looking models they went stylized model that actually were able to compliment those other visual elements.
I wouldn't call this art style "realistic". it's still stylized even if it's less anime than before. What I consider realistic is something like MK11 or Capcom's own recent Resident Evil that used face-scanned actors.

The animations are insane. Game looks very nice. Definitely interested. Haven’t really been into a fighting game since Marvel v. Capcom 3. But I might have to try this.
This is easily my favorite art style since 3rd strike. I credit capcom for making each main iteration of SF completely different, but 4 and 5 from an art perspective just weren't it in my opinion. This looks absolutely beautiful.

I'm like sobbing for Makoto in this game, my God she'd look so damn cool. I literally prayed to see Parrying being a big core mechanic of the game and the way they put those cool slow mo frames when you pull off one is something i actually asked for in silence. Thank god they listened. Seeing Max turn into a big ass kid was literally everything. 😂 Love you, dood.

Also it implies no fighting game stories ever have real, concrete endings. That would mean they have to make brand new IPs which would never happen.

She's gone from working as a cop, to avenging her father's death, to taking care, proecting and nurturing the next generation and in this game she'll be the badass kung-fu master who teaches the young upstarts. Jamie looks up to Yun and Yang and is a protector of his community. Ryu totally trained with Oro and has a sash like him now. This game looks sick!

You don't know how happy I am that Capcom finally returned to the "street" aesthetic that they dropped after third strike. The paint splatters on what looks to be returning Crush Counter, the graffiti visual effects. The characters all look so much smoother compared to how blocky they looked in 4 and 5. The more cinematic looking supers...I wasn't that excited for 5 with how it was advertised, but this? This looks fantastic.

The aesthetics are so pleasing. But then again, SFIV and SFV didn't really catch my attention, it felt weird for me since I'm not a hardcore fan. But SFVI has drawn my attention again
I don't know if they "returned" to it, this looks fresh and new, bringing back old mechanics. SF never really looked like it had a "street" style, especially "street punk", it was just holding to the name and animations on their characters, closest may be SFIV or SFXT with its heavy focus on styling the mechanics and their trailers, not SFIII or earlier. I'd say it's fresh that for the first time they're actually focusing on their name even if it was never meant to be focused on for graphics style.

I'm honestly really impressed. I love the fact that they aged Ryu and Chun a bit finally and they actually look different, love that they finally added a drunken master character, and the "open world" is definitely a surprise for sure. The game looks really fun from what i'm seeing here. Edit: Also DAMND making an appearance was definitely unexpected, hope he makes it into the roster, he's one of the few really recognizable Final Fight characters that hasn't made it into SF yet.

There were so many rocky issues at the start of SF5. Bad netcode, miniscule roster, gameplay felt stale. Game just felt soulless at the start. None of the flair that 3rd strike or 4 had. Glad that they are making an active effort to give SF personality again. Luke's redesign looks great, and Jamie has a great design too. I only hope that they commit to this aesthetic because it's such a welcome return to the street culture

The thing that gets me about the trailer is that Ryu and Chun-Li really do look like they're gotten older. Ryu looks more rugged and older (though that may only be because of the beard lol), while Chun-Li looks more... mature, I think. I love it so, so much

As someone who doesn't play fighting games, this trailer makes me want to buy this game. A single player mode? This is how you get more casual gamers to try stuff like this.
Except the main thing is still going to be fighting. The only difference is you are going to walk to fight. Like idk what you guys are expecting. The game isn’t going to have the open world that respond to the player or be like gta.
There's always been a single player mode, though. It's called arcade mode.
Max said it and Yu Suzuki said it generations ago: When you can combine an action game with a fighting game they will no longer be niche. That's what Shenmue was.
there's a new modern control system that is welcoming to new players as well. You should definitely try it out, you may find a new passion in fighting games!

This just shows how amazing realism can be in fighting games while maintaining super stylized stuff.
Their attempt at realism in 5 was so weird. Like they clearly wanted to be more realistic, but made the cast very blocky and angular. I feel this fits better and they managed to fuse it with stylish visual effects too.

This looks pretty interesting. It looks like a new street fighter i would imagine in the next gen with hyper realism combining with stylistic art and movement which is pretty cool, and it seems there doing some kind of hub world and custom character as well. Also glad there embracing the hip hop setting like third strike too. Glad there ageing up old characters as well. Overall, i'm interested in this game.
This game honestly made the State of Play worth watching for me. The rest was great too don’t get me wrong, but I’m so happy that the paint style thing wasn’t just for the trailer.

I think it's definitely a smart move to put the game on as many platforms as possible when they're basically having a generational transition with the characters.
Some may be turned off at first but end up buying the game just because a close friend of them has it.

For the first time in years, I'm so excited for a fighting game. I haven't been this hype since MvC3 was announced. It really looks like they finally learned from their mistakes and are making something that's going to be amazing.

I think as we run around the city we’ll be able to see other players character aswell and we’ll be able to challenge them to add some spontaneous PVP into the single player story

The 2v2 thing occurred to me as well, but seeing the whole trailer I don't think so. I think the match intro is just the two fighters walking in together.

The game was at one point being developed with 2v2 in mind if the development shakeup is true, so that could simply be a holdover of that design

They walk in like partners more than opponents but I don’t see how 2v2 would be implemented given the fighting system. Tagging within the match would feel too much like a mvc game.
God Chun looked amazing. That animation of her dodging with her hands behind her back was oozing Michelle Yeoh vibes and I love it.
That was the best part of the trailer for me. That kick to the back of the head was just hilarious I love it.
Definitely Chun-Li was my highlight as well. She has been so much improved and looks amazingly beautiful in this game than any of the SF predecessors. They finally did her justice.

It gives off a high energy vibrant vibe that you saw in entertainment and stuff like shopping malls with neon lights etc. Reminds me of being a kid again. It looks like the concept art they worked on years ago. A great mix of graffiti and pop minimalism, because of the colors and contrasts.
I am absolutely stoked about Street Fighter 6. Loving the new mechanics. Here's my understanding of what they are.
1. Basic Parry from SF3
2. A Focus Attack dromSF4
3. The colorful thing look like a Combo Breaker/ Burst type move. Some clips I've seen had characters performed that while being hit.

Two things I noticed, those extra characters in the beginning might be different creat-a-character options. Each of those character intros might be their open world intros when you meet them for the first time. I think it would be cool to unlock characters to use in other game modes by finding them in the open world.

An involved single player mode is def a selling point for me. I enjoy a lot about Street Fighter but I am not the biggest actual fan of playing the games since I don't want to devote the time to get good. If this game has a mode where I am just running around the city picking fights with people in single player I am down for that and will pick up the game.

A very nice and surprising mixture of photo-realism and stylized art. I liked how SFII and III looked back in the day, but I was never a fan of IV and V especially artistically speaking. This looks very appealing imo.

Oro did help train Ryu in the Street Fighter Udon comics. I think he even appeared to Ryu a couple of times in SF5. It wouldn't be far out if Oro passed the torch to Ryu after training him.

@@HenryM912 damn its been a long time since i played third strike. i like how it implies that Ryu has finally mastered the Satsui no Hado and the Power of Nothingness, making him have moves from both Oro and Gouken.
The single player adventure mode definitely reminds me of Beatdown: Fists of Vengeance that they did way back in PS2. Seems to play similarly even (it has both dedicated 1v1 fighting game-styled fights & 3D group brawls)!

@@MansMan42069 It's a bit rough around the edges, but yeah overall I enjoyed it! I have a feeling this mode in SF6 will work more or less like it, in parts at least.
We already saw the player character going into a 1v1 fight with a street rando in this trailer, so that much has been confirmed for now.
Hopefully it's done well enough & turn out to be something that'd be fun to chill around with inbetween doing online matches/ranked.
Amazing. Love the visuals. Good mix of more realism in the character models with stylised ink like art. Even the hits on impact are more subdued. Almost feels like a mix of Tekken and Street Fighter 😏

I love SF6and still continuously keep coming back to view Max’s reaction videos to relive the incredible excitement leading up to the release.
Jamie looks so sick, it looks like some of his moves are inspired by actual breakdancing moves which is in line with the hip hop aesthetic. Can't wait to see the other new fighters!
Breakdancing / Drunken Boxing, might be the first Drunken Fist fighter in Street Fighter.

The game looks absolutely amazing, love the graffiti and paint and the overall hip hop aesthetic. Now imagine if instead of realistic looking models they went stylized model that actually were able to compliment those other visual elements.
Honestly, I kinda like the difference in style between the effects and the characters. It helps make the effects pop

I wouldn't call this art style "realistic". it's still stylized even if it's less anime than before. What I consider realistic is something like MK11 or Capcom's own recent Resident Evil that used face-scanned actors.

The animations are insane. Game looks very nice. Definitely interested. Haven’t really been into a fighting game since Marvel v. Capcom 3. But I might have to try this.

This is easily my favorite art style since 3rd strike. I credit capcom for making each main iteration of SF completely different, but 4 and 5 from an art perspective just weren't it in my opinion. This looks absolutely beautiful.
@@youboob4394 I find it funny how there are some people still trying to cast shade on SF6 by saying Capcom is just going to repeat what they did with SFV… even though it’s *very* clear that both Street Fighter AND Capcom have moved away from those elements.

@@NoahDaArk I'd be a little more excited if I didn't check out the new control *options*. Although I think the beginner layout is going to have disadvantages because it'll have only 4 buttons instead of the traditional 6.
@@blueicydasani4543 I think it’s a good option to have. OG Street Fighters will get to keep the complexity of moves while new players get something that helps them come to grips with how fighting games work
Y'know what whilst I didn't personally like SFV's art style I can at least respect Capcom for trying something new every time.
V art was way better than IV especially since the game kept getting updated towards the end of it's duration.

I'm like sobbing for Makoto in this game, my God she'd look so damn cool. I literally prayed to see Parrying being a big core mechanic of the game and the way they put those cool slow mo frames when you pull off one is something i actually asked for in silence. Thank god they listened. Seeing Max turn into a big ass kid was literally everything. 😂 Love you, dood.
