I DROVE A RACECAR FOR THE FIRST TIME

Join me for my first ever track day, thanks to Racecar Experiences. I try out the 410bhp FK8 Civic Type R, have a 'whoops' moment and improve my skills.
The goal is to work my way through different cars & tracks, ultimately ending up in the British Touring Car and hopefully competing by next year!

It’s great to see females getting on track, as a father to a 5yo! Practice makes perfect and you’ll get faster as you go along, women don’t have the same reaction times as men nor as good of a hand eye coordination so you’re already having to work harder than a man does. One tip, keep your hands between 9-3 and 10-2 and don’t move them, you want to be able to catch oversteer as fast as you can when it happens and this will help that. Then practice rev matching on your daily drives, it’ll help make you a lot smoother on downshifts therefore you’ll keep a lot more balance in the car. Well done, hope you had fun!!

Try and stick to the same track while you are developing your skills.
Track knowledge is a major part of getting fast, learn your basic race craft-lines,braking points, gear up and down points.
Then start pushing a bit more, when you get to the point of being on the edge you are there, enjoy!!
