How to Use the Zipper Jig for Bag Making

In this video, I'll demonstrate how to use the Zipper Jig for attaching zipper pulls to zipper tape (or zipper-by-the-yard). I have tried several ways to attach zipper pulls, and up until this point, the Zipper Jig is the best method I've used.

what is different about YKK zippers that makes it not work with this. I'm anxious to buy it, but I know I have a lot of YKK zipper by the yard, so there is no pull to tell me it's YKK. Thanks for any help ya'll have

I purchased this but I can’t make it work and I’m beginning to think it’s because I have a nylon zipper. Does this only work for metal zippers?

I just bought this tool from Amazon and for some reason, it's not working for me. The left side went in easily, but the right side just wouldn't go in. I even tried doing the right side first and the same thing happened. That side went in easily, but the left side wouldn't go in. I even cut both sides of the zipper so they'd be even and crisp beforehand, but nothing seems to work. I'm now frustrated because I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

sounds like me. I came here to check to see what I am doing wrong. I have not tried it again. One thing I picked up was the direction in which to put it in. It is to go in at an angle, not straight on. Plus double check the brand of zippers you are using. Good Luck.

@@maryf8875 So, I kept fooling around with it and bought some Zipper tape by the yard to practice with and finally got it to work but it took a lot of fiddling and definitely didn't work as smoothly as in the video.

They will have YKK on the zipper pull.

Even with the angle of the tape, this was still way too hard to pull through. I even cut tails on it for something to hold onto. This was complete BS. Why do people bother with zipper tape by the yard?
