This is an older video, but yes I am using a zipper roll and struggled horribly with one all day today. Thank goodness you posted this!! You’re my lifesaver of the day!
Holy cow! I’ve been watching everybody else put them on and couldn’t figure out how you fit the teeth in with the fork sticking in there as well. Thank you so much for your super terrific explanation!
Thank you, Sara! This is my first attempt at using zippers by the yard. I was having a hard time trying to get the darn pull on. You mentioned to make a "V" to slide the zipper on; that was all it took! Such a simple thing but it worked like a charm! Love your channel and your bags!
Gotta say a massive thank you thank you thank you. Not going to tell you how long I've sat hete trying to do this. And then i found this wonderful tutorial. I had the teeth up facing me. And now watching this. And the fact i had teeth facing down it was easy. I'd been put off these zips by the yard because of doing this. Now I have NO feats at all
Omg. I have struggled with this with various degrees of success and more of failure. Seen loads of videos, but this one just gave me the secret - angle the zipper into the pull! So simple! No more cutting the tape and trying to force the teeth downwards! Thank you Sara!
You just SAVED me! I cut a 168"-long upholstery zipper only to realize the pull was on the scrap side, freaked out for about 5 hours, then found your video. Amazing relief all thanks to you - THANK YOU.
After struggling on my own, I decided to turn to RUclips. Yours was the first video I watched and I got the zipper pull on the coil on the first try using your method! Thank you so much! I had purchased zipper pulls to use with leftover zipper coils because I didn’t want to waste the zipper coils and can now use them for small coin purses. Perfect demonstration. Thank you!
This is changes my bag making life forever! Can’t believe how much I struggled with installing zipper pulls until I watched this. A plastic fork is now a permanent tool in my sewing supply bag!
Trying it for the first time today on a deck chair cushion that requires a 54" zipper. Was having a difficult time trying to figure out how to get the zipper pull on ... until I saw your video ... HOORAY!!!
I have used a zipper roll many times but I always have trouble putting the zipper pull on. I have a huge roll that I was about to give to Goodwill because I could never get it to work when I needed it. I decided to go on RUclips and just see what was suggested to make it easier. I watch at least fifteen before I got to yours...they just either didn't work for me or they didn't make sense to me. I finally came across your explanation on HOW TO ADD ZIPPER HEADS TO TAPE OR TO A ZIPPER ROLL. This really was a game changer for me. It worked the first time and I just kept doing it over and over. So easy. Thank you very much. Best "How-To" Video that I've come across. I've never seen the "fork" trick either.
I’m reupholstering an armchair cushion. First time I’ve done upholstery-including installing a zipper cut from zipper roll. It was toward the end of a long day, and a wiser person would have just set it aside. Instead, I went to RUclips (which has been my go-to resource for everything “upholstery” so far). Yours was the first video I found and a few minutes later, my zipper head was perfectly installed! Thank you so much!
I bought several zipper rolls a few years back having seen that they worked so easily. And then I came to use them and it was like wizardry, I could NOT get the pull onto the zip! I watched one lady’s video but could align the sides evenly and moving the pull up was ok but it was sticking going down. And then I found your video. THANK YOU! You’ve meant I can now use what I’d bought a while ago perfectly and it’s not been a vast waste of money!
Thank you. I had been struggling with a zipper, and struggling with a zipper, then I watched your video. I was able to put two on one zipper tape within a minute!
I watched a different video where I didn't catch on and this one explained that the zipper pull is put on the fork backwards. Made it 100% easier. Thank you!!
I bought a yard of zipper roll and 3 pulls years ago and forgot about it. I finally was able to put them together by watching your video. Thank you very much!
This video literally saved me. My zipper was too long and I cut it but accidentally left the actual zipper at the end that I cut off. Thank you thank you thank you for saving my life
I just bought a zipper role off of Amazon, and was ready to return it because I was getting so frustrated until I just watched your video!! I am going to give this a try tomorrow morning! THANK YOU.
WoW.. Thank you for this superb video. I was so very frustrated trying to fit no5 zippers onto a continuous zip and finally found your video. Took 10 minutes to figure it out once I used a fork. Brilliant. ❤
WHAT THE BUTT?! I just struggled for about an hr to load a pull onto the zipper tape to add to necklace bags for a funeral and you came along and saved the day. Bless you!
Omg. This was a life saver tonight! I had to use this technique on an almost complete Hold Everything bag after my darn zipper stops failed! I almost gave up trying because I was manually attaching the pull and then found your video and was able to get the pull back on in under 10 seconds! I would give you a big hug if I could! Thanks!!!😀
I had sewed my zipper tape to length and cut it the realized I didn't leave the zipper pull in the middle! Your video was so helpful I was able to save at least half my zipper for another project! thanks for your video!!!!
My absolute favorite RUclips to get the pulls on my tape. I hadn't done this in awhile and last night had to give up until I found this again. Just the best!!
oh my word!!! I've been fighting with them putting them in from the other end and just holding them with my fingers. I just knew there had to be an easier way. Thank you!!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I've watched so many videos on how to "easily" attach a pull either with or without a fork, cutting one side shorter, forming a V and with each video my frustration grew! I was beginning to think my fingers weren't working right :( Then I found your video !!! Where others showed placing the pull on the tines, it didn't show or explain where the tines go. Armed with this new information I ran excited to the kitchen and grabbed the desired utensil and am now happily (and easily) practising !
You are a life saver!!! I was pulling my hair out trying to rejoin a segment of zipper after sewing because it was impossible... Until I saw your video. Thank you!
I have only used zipper rolls with the heads already on... zippers by the inch. These were very intimidating to me until I found your video! THANK YOU!!! I love it now.
Thank you for a very straightforward demo of how to use the zipper roll. I have never used this before. It's the first time I've checked your site. Thank you.
Thank you!!!!!! I was following the directions that came with my zippers by the yard and the pull wouldn't budge. That little hint of angling them in a v shape before sliding the zipper tape in was all I needed.
Thank you. I bought zipper roles and I could not figure how to put the thingy on the zipper. Been here like two hours til I found your tutorial. Thanks for your sharing your skills. 😊❤
This is the first time I have used a zipper by the roll and I wasted two days trying to get the zipper pulls on but your video really helped I wish I opened u tube sooner. Thank you so much
Thanks for your help! I was in a quandary until you said, "Put the zipper into the head on an angle." The zipper tape formed a heart shape; that's the clue that'll keep me making zippers for a long time :).
If only I'd had this technique for putting a zipper back together when my parents owned a drycleaners decades ago. SOOOOOOO easy. Can't wait to try this. Yes, I have used a zipper roll, but I've also seen quite a few pouch making videos on RUclips that separate the zipper before inserting it in the pouch.
OMG!!! I have wasted my time with a dozen other videos, but your video actually helped! You’ve just saved me so much additional frustration & likely a few more temper tantrums! Thank you so much!
Thanks for great demo. Put zippers in all the time but really struggle with by the yard and adding pulls. You make this look so easy. Going to try it right now.
Thank you! thank you! thank you! I literally have been frustrated for hours, trying various techniques from videos. I was successful watching yours within seconds!!! 👏👏👏💪🥰
Im new using zipper by the yard. I came accross another channel it looked EZ the way it was done and nothing. I tried and tried no matter what I did didn't work. I came accross your channel first time done worked like a charm (Who knew a fork will do it). Thank you!
Thank you so much 😊 first time using roll 😊your technique was easy peasy 😊first time adding zipper to seat cushion covers. Will look at your other videos for help 😊you rock! Susan from St Rose 🌹 LA USA. 😊
This was so great! Been struggling with getting sliders on to zipper coil for forever, managed it in 10 seconds with your video! Thank you so much for a fantastic tutorial. I have added a fork to my sewing kit now LOL!!
I just got my first order of zippers by the yard today, I was so excited to try. The first went on very easy, encouraging me to try another. A good 45 minutes and unkind language I couldn’t do the black/rainbow! My favorite! :( You just saved my mentality... like a dream!! Thank You, Thank You!!!
I've used the fork method and it works great! Someone looking in my sewing box may wonder why I have a fork in there, but it's very handy for putting the zipper heads on.
Thank you. You just helped me use a roll zipper for the first time. I make leather handbags and have never had to use a long zipper before. This project I am working on required a long zipper and I was stumped. Tried several things before thinking of you tube ( I am an alder person) and found you. Thank you again, I can now just buy long rolls and cut to length.
What an incredible tip! Thank you!! I was fixing a tent zipper with two (two way) double pull zippers and your technique worked perfectly. I opened both ends of the zipper, (not sure if that was necessary) and made sure that the bottom of the zipper slider was up, as you mention in the video that the zipper and tape need to be inside facing up when sliding the tape into the zipper. It took me a few tries to get oriented and find the bottom of the double pull since at first it looks the same from the top as the bottom. Saved me a tonne of frustration!
I just bought the rose gold bundle, with heart chain zipper head. First time using, this video was a life saver. Making my first Baker Street bag. I’ll post pics when I’m done.
Hello Alicia! I just opened my package from you with the same color zipper roll as the one in your video! Thank you for providing such a great tutorial on attaching the pulls. I was about to tear my hair out before your demonstration!
I bought a zipper roll a long time ago but never used it as I didn't know how to put zipper heads on. Thanks so much for showing how to do this. It looks very easy.
This is so helpful. I just successfully attached a zipper pull to zipper by the yard. I have been dreading this for years but I finally made the leap. Thanks for your help.
This was AMAZING! I had just popped the pull off a zipper and found this...one suggestion-make sure the pull tab is up so the little stopper thing on the underside does not keep the pull from sliding on the zipper...thought my pull was broken until I tried that...
I've never used the zipper roll but have bought long zippers and had to cut them down, remove the zipper head and replace them. Also have had to repair zips, replace head, so experience with getting the new head on. Now, I have some tricks of the trade to make it easier. Thanks for the video.
so helpful!! i've been trying to add the zipper head to a zipper tape for like an hour and finally after this video i could do it. thanks for sharing!!
This video is a Godsend. I have spent a LOT of time trying to get my tapes on straight and got one on okay with my husband's help, but the other continued to go on crooked. I didn't know what I was going to do but start with a new cut of tape, but I hated to do that with my limited amount of this special tape. THIS worked miracles....done in about ten minutes!! Thank you!!
This morning, I cussed and struggled with getting the zipper heads on the zipper roll. I finally gave up and used a prepurchased zipper that was already assembled. I am going to try this in the morning when I go back into my sewing room. Thanks, I hope it will be as easy as your video made it look.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have never used zipper tape before. I appreciate the time you took to share. Maybe I'll give it a try. Thank you!
I am so thankful to you! I make bags and I cut off both of the zipper stops and unzipped it to far! I usually have to remove the old zipper completely but you saved me so much! 😊 🙏 Thank you!
It is my first time using zipper by the yard. I have been waiting to try but, just never did. Now I wish that I had. I love the wider tape! So much easier to work with! 🧵
I've been doing this by hand...what a pain! Love this method. When I get a bump...I continue to move the zipper along the teeth almost to the end, then split the zipper open to that end. No need to keep rethreading. I leave enough tape to trim evenly if needed. I was always terrified of zip by the yard...until now.
HAHAHAHAHA❗❗❗ but i wouldn't have gotten to laff so hard right now as i am doing🤣... which was so terribly needed, btw😂😂😂... so... THANK YOU SO MUCH... (and sorry little ones)♥️

I know this is an oldy video, but this greatly helped my wife. Awesome video, saved her a ton of frustration.

LOVED this tutorial. Tried lots of methods, but this was magic. Attached zipper pull the first try. Plastic fork worked great!

First time I've used a zipper tape. Your video made it so easy to put the zipper pull on. Thank you so much for the great tutorial.
Wow finally a easy way to do the zips. Huge thanks for sharing this video. Now I just have to put it in action
This video is a Godsend. I have spent a LOT of time trying to get my tapes on straight and got one on okay with my husband's help, but the other continued to go on crooked. Glad you had this video as I bought a roll and never used before and no instructions came with it. Thank you 😊
This method is brilliant! Thank you for sharing how to use a fork to put the zipper heads on. It really helped me!
This morning, I cussed and struggled with getting the zipper heads on the zipper roll. I finally gave up and used a prepurchased zipper that was already assembled. I am going to try this in the morning when I go back into my sewing room. Thanks, I hope it will be as easy as your video made it look.
I've never put zipper pulls on zipper tape.. But you make this look pretty easy to do.. You ROCK!.
I have zipper roll, but always struggle to get heads on. You make it look so easy, thank you.
Wow. I so needed this! The plastic fork worked perfectly once I got it anchored...
Went back to work full time, so I’ve been missing all of you videos for at least 5 months so I’m catching up. Thank you. Yes I have used a zipper roll
Omg! You are a miracle! I've been working on my zipper for an hour! You made it easy!!!!
It is my first time using zipper by the yard. I have been waiting to try but, just never did. Now I wish that I had. I love the wider tape! So much easier to work with! 🧵
I never even knew you could buy zippers by the yard! Love this!
Never used a zipper roll before but now I am very interested. I love the variety,
I've been doing this by hand...what a pain! Love this method. When I get a bump...I continue to move the zipper along the teeth almost to the end, then split the zipper open to that end. No need to keep rethreading. I leave enough tape to trim evenly if needed. I was always terrified of zip by the yard...until now.
I was struggling a lot, but thanks to your video I could put the slider on in seconds, thank you so much!!
Thank you!! This worked far better than another method I tried.
very helpful...took all the anxiety out of the process! thank you!
The fork idea is BRILLIANT!!! thank you , thank you, thank you!!!
If only I'd watched this two weeks ago, my kids wouldn't have learned some naughty words!
HAHAHAHAHA❗❗❗ but i wouldn't have gotten to laff so hard right now as i am doing🤣... which was so terribly needed, btw😂😂😂... so... THANK YOU SO MUCH... (and sorry little ones)♥️
😂😂😂👍
I feel your pain! 😊
😂
Thank you so much for that demonstration you made it look so easy and that it was..your answer to the question is no I had never used a zipper roll before..🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you SO much!! You saved my sanity today!!!
(I used a clip board to hold down the fork!!)
You are brilliant! It took me forever to put the tape on without the fork.
I use so much zipper from rolls, and always had to fiddle, this works so awesome!!!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
I’ve never used zipper rolls but I really like the ones you’ve featured. So I’ll definitely be checking them out.
OMGOODNESS you have no idea how much you helped me with this!! I have been struggling to do this for so long!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!🥰
this is the best video of it's type by far - such an easy method
This is genius! I've never used a zipper roll but certainly now will!! Thank you.
First time I am going to use it. Watch your video and it was a breeze. Thank you so so much for this 🌹
Yup I've used a zipper roll but they put the heads on for you. This is a brilliant idea! Thank you Sara 😊😊
Amazing. thank you so much. I never cease to be amazed by lovely people like you sharing your knowledge like this. 💚
