A few years ago, our world became unstable, and now everything is changing so quickly that it’s hard to keep up. In times like these, finding your own place can feel overwhelming. As for listening to family and relatives, sometimes it's not necessary to follow their advice. They see the world from their own perspective. It's not that they’re wrong, but this is your life, and only you can decide what you truly want and the kind of future you wish to create.
Late stage capitalism. Globalisation. Break down of community and culture. Nihilism. Social media (information overload). The list goes on. Ive been grappling with this for years. I fought against it, wanting to preserve my childlike wonder and enthusiasm. It didnt work. Ive tried almost everything you can imagine. Nonduality. Reading the bible. Self development. Numbing myself. I dont even just feel lost, its just utter confusion. The only thing that is working for me right now is enjoying the little things for what they are. All we really are is raw experience. Any label put ontop of that comes after the fact. If you want something solid to lean back on, you have your heartbeat and breathing. The only thing certain in life is death. Our ancestors didnt need higher purpose, meaning and goals. Their existence was for survival itself. We have achieved a level of comfort that makes us think... now what? Create. Create is my suggestion. Find a hobby that lets you produce physical things. Its a way of saying 'i exist. This came from me.' For no reason other than to experience the process. We live under the assumption that life is something to be figured out when all we are to do is live it in whatever way it arrives. some people suggest living according to your values, embracing absurdism, indulging in pleasures - take your pick. none of them soothe the existential dilemma really. some things i’ve enjoyed recently: the smell of my partner, a cool breeze, delicious food, good sleep, health, playing with a cat, playing fortnite. it’s enough for me. it has to be. living in thought has robbed me of living. some people are in such awful positions. most of life is suffering though people would debate me on that. the constant striving and searching for goals and direction only leads to more of it. the accomplishment of these things is never going to satisfy us. it is human nature, we are always slightly uncomfortable otherwise we wouldn’t evolve. miley cyrus’ ‘the climb’ captures this perfectly. we are all sisyphus - ‘one must imagine him happy’. meaning comes from suffering. i’ve got angry over this fact. i’ve got deeply depressed over this. life is unfair. but this is how it is.
That’s a deep analysis right here. The feeling of confusion you described is so relatable. Enjoying little things does help indeed but it is temporary. The rhythm of life rarely gives you the chance to stop and contemplate on what is happening at the moment. I like how you pointed out that art - creating something can be a way to say “I exist” but see creating for the sake of it feels pointless. It seems like it should have a purpose more than just the existence confirmation. I like to think that souls are eternal, therefore something physical and material probably cannot satisfy the void inside. I’ll add smth more when I think of what you wrote more thoroughly.
For sure. Im not saying this is as a solution at all. Merely things that alleviate. Im in the same boat but I think im just utterly exhausted from searching. Creating for existence confirmation is only a part of it. If you enjoy the process of creating then the point of it is enjoyment and relaxation. Im stumped too and this is something that humanity has been faced with for decades. I think our circumstances are just making it more obvious at the moment.
Hi Maria, there are so many of us that feel the same way, even though it may not seem like it. We all need Jesus Christ in our life. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He was buried and rose again after 3 days, according to the Scriptures. I pray you repent and place your faith in Him for your salvation before it is too late, if you haven’t. I’d be happy to discuss further with you.
@@MariRiddle Since I was in high school. I find it to be the best lens to view the world through. There are prophecies in the Bible that are happening right now just as they were written thousands of years ago. We all have a soul, and placing faith in Jesus for salvation gives me the peace of mind that whatever happens on earth, I’ll have eternal life with God when my life here is over. It looks like the world is falling apart, but everything is falling into place, according to Scripture.
@@MariRiddle The purpose that we were created for is to glorify God. Part of what it looks like to glorify God is to acknowledge who God is (our Creator, for starters) and to praise and worship Him as such. We fulfill our purpose of glorifying God also by living our lives in relationship and faithful service to Him. In our fallen state, sin separates us from God and makes it impossible to glorify Him on our own. But through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, our relationship with God is reconciled-our sin is forgiven and no longer creates a barrier between God and us.

Thank you sooo much! You are soo right, it does feel overwhelming.
P.S. Gotta say I enjoy your English a lot!
Completely lost and afraid most of the time
Me too, I’m trying to figure out ways to get away from the feeling or solve the problem in some way.

I kinda feel lost most of the time in real life
True. Me too.

Oh, religion is generally a good support that you can rely on when you feel down. How long have you been religious?

@@PurposefulPantomimethat’s a good point. According to this, what is the purpose of human existence then? Here, on Earth.
