Thank you for rating my workplace 61 West Restaurant a 9/10 im really glad you enjoyed it and hope you come back and dine again at 61 West when you visit Grenada again
My girlfriend and I were in Grenada in 2022. We ate well every day we were there. Places we went to included: Patrick's Local Homestyle on the Lagoon Road Umbrella's Beach Bar on Grand Anse BB Crabbacks in St Georges Laluna restaurant and hotel in Morne Rouge La Plywood Beach Bar at BBC Beach Belmont Estate in St Patricks We actually stayed at Petit Anse for a couple of days. The hotel is really cosy and the staff very welcoming
Ive tried Umbrellas and BB Crabback but I haven’t tried the others. I will definitely give them a try when I go back! There a few restaurants that I tried that I didn’t include in this review.
The main reason why most of the places are so Americanize is because , most of the visitors don’t want it(they say it’s disgusting) they tend to ask for “the Americanized food”so over the years a lot of restaurants and eatery adapt to it.once you’re not from the country or the Caribbean people don’t usually ask for it.
Nonsense not at all we com and ask for local food home u can't even get a breakfast or coco tea unless u go to Dennys everyone complains about not getting good local food. Run to food land on Sunday morning to get little backs and fish cake
Not true... when Im in Grenada I'm searching for local food places to eat local dishes but its so hard to find many decent places these days... Even finding a decent roti is challenging.
I think the reason why the restaurants are Americanized is because Grenadians like to cook their own food in their homes. If you don’t know any locals you may not get much Grenadian food.
@@war22down that’s the problem. It should be for nationals as well. You can’t go to Jamaica and not find a jerk spot or at least some beef patties every mile. In Trinidad there are Roti shops galore. Why can’t we have oil down readily available? I’m also tired of Grenadians saying oildown is seasonal, because that’s just not true. Breadfruit can be peeled and frozen and used throughout the year, which is better than them spoiling and wasting every year.
I am amazed that there are so many decent eateries offering relative good however I wish they would step up their game and also feature more local/home grown on their menus. Thank you, for a well-done vlog,
Definitely agree with everything you said about Prickly Bay . Terrible service, food isn't good at all.. I have know some other places for you to try. I might put them on my channel on my next trip to Grenada 🇬🇩.. Loved this video
Thanks for the information. I'm going to be in Grenada in a few weeks and I definitely don't want American food - no pizza, burgers,, fries, etc. Did you find any restaurants more like the food you found at D Cook Up?
Didn’t eat American food in Grenada except for when a taxi made a stop at kfc for a snack after a long day 😂 Best food on the island are the little shops by the locals. Amazing value for price and the flavour is always on point. Kelly’s Hot Spot in Gouyave, Sharon’s in Saint George’s and the food during Froggy’s tour in Carriacou were the best I ate. Kelly’s and Sharon’s were $20 EC or less for a full plate with a local juice 😋
Question, I saw in another video that traveling late could be an issue - no buses etc. how were you able to travel in the evenings? Taxi, personal vehicle etc?
@@Icy_Tho I think In Grenada they have some similarities language-wise to Haiti because they were both influenced by the French. Even though today, they speak english In Grenada because the a English were the last to colonize then and the French were first.

Grenada to americanise they need to serve lo al food I see no fish on the menus such a shame Grenada is not America stop seving all this America food to much chicken serve fish and lo bster

Beautiful Grenada 🇬🇩
Question, I saw in another video that traveling late could be an issue - no buses etc.
how were you able to travel in the evenings? Taxi, personal vehicle etc?
They have an app called “Haylup” that functions like Uber or Lyft. Thats what we were using sometimes to get around.
Was the gentleman with your family a personal guide? Could you share their info if so?
have you been to Le Phare Bleu?
Yes I have!
love it... an invite next time would be nice ...greenz 😉
I gotchu!👌🏾
Do they have conch there ?
Yes they do, but they don’t call it “conch” they call it “lambi”
@@CassiaLyn of course that’s what my people call it too we are Haitian

I agree, no cats anywhere I'm around me while I'm eating. I'm alright with American food though, that way I know I'll eat.
What location is D'Cook Out
How do you get there
D’cook out isn’t a place. Its a person that sells food out of their house. I will try to find their information and send it to u. They deliver.
You absolutely right about Prickly Bay. Their overpriced food is disgusting. The only thing I enjoy when I was there, was the music.
An absurd amount of people feel this way. It’s ridiculous
I love it ❤

Do they sell Hatian food in 🇬🇩? I love Hatian food
