Musically I feel like this song completes a trilogy that started with "Special", then "Parade" and now this track. Just like how "Parade" shared the DNA of "Special", this song shares the DNA of both. Of course with Garbage, that DNA strand is just one part of the band's genetic makeup but hearing them revisit this sound is like revisiting an old friend that you haven't seen in a long time. That feeling happens throughout No Gods No Masters because the album is that good. It feels like revisiting several different old friends and looking at how we're both older and wiser now but are still really passionate about certain things in life. Even more passionate these days having grown up in this crazy world. I say that as someone who has been a garbage fan since their debut album. At 42 years old, that's more than half of my life. That doesn't make me any better than newer fans, of course. One of the great things about the Garbage fanbase is the inclusion of people from all walks of life and that includes both old and new fans. As a longtime Garbage fan, it's awesome that this album has gotten such an overwhelmingly positive response from old and new fans alike. It's been an awesome journey watching the band evolve over the years and with this album Garbage is at yet another stage of their evolution while simultaneously rekindling the flames of their earlier albums. There's a feeling of having come full circle but there's also a sense of urgency and the need to continue marching on.
Totally addicted to this album and this is my favorite track from it! The New Order vibe is insanely beautiful and at the same it evokes previous Garbage's works. I just love it!!!
Dear Garbage, I love all songs in NGNM. Flipping The Bird sounds so special. I am so proud of you and quite sure many of us fans are very happy with this new release. Thank you.
I get When I Grow Up vibes listening to this. Stellar album, from the very start to the very last second. Love love love Garbage and have done for 23 years. What a band! Please stay alive forever
I adore this Song, because we need to "Flip the Bird" more often! ❤️❤️❤️. We need to Respect & Love each other AGAIN! I was about 10, when my Dad nearly Beat me to Death, and my Mom was telling, "Kill the little F'ing SOB!*. Ever since then, I had BOTH MIDDLE FINGERS, up at Both of them! Before my Mom died, the Truth came out, and I took her back today, and she was DO SORRY! Buy the scars are there! I didn't get mad, it made me LOVE her MORE, and the weird part, is that's all I ever wanted, was to be loved by my Parents! Her final knife, when she ADMITTED, that she loved him MORE than my Younger Sibling and I! I completely shut down!!! I'm just stepping back into who I once was, just Fucking Smarter this time! (Those Middle Fingers, are still ready to Pop Up!)
When you realize you found that person beautiful, because you projected all the inner beauty and colors of your OWN soul onto them! And they weren't, in fact, really all that great! But YOU are! You're the shit, actually! It was always just YOU, all along! And now..? You can simply love and enjoy those parts of yourself, instead! Hell yes!! And then maybe someday..? Find someone to share them with, who's more worthy of you.
I personally hear more of a Beautiful Garbage vibe here, specifically Parade or Breaking Up The Girl. I could also see Right Between The Eyes. But I think that’s fair - the verse of RBR is definitely mirrored here.
Amazon telling me I have to wait til June 21 for my CD. 💩 At least I can still listen, but I'm spoiling that first listen event for myself. Oh well. Fuck it. 🙂
i love this song
Masterpiece!!!❤🤩✨
This song brings me back to 1998, finally getting ahold of Version 2.0 b-sides and loving it in wonderment. I simply love this song.
I agree! Its very old school.
Yup I get *Special* vibes

This one fills me with melancholy. It's beautiful.
Her vocals are gorgeous
The best song on the album. By far. One of those pieces of music that reminds you of the greatness of music.

Good points. Warms my heart when the fanbase return and write all these reactions. Long-time fan myself. Just subscribed to your channel.
Perfect! I Think the same! I like to correlate the previous albums songs and fell the connections.
Do you hear a slight resemblance of When I Grow Up?

It seems all the songs in the new album have Easter eggs from their whole discography, and I love that!
That’s exactly why I came directly here. Did something nice for someone and what did I get in return? Oh, this 🥉
Fantastic bass line, perfect vocals, Garbage are SO back ! I love this song ❤
What a great album. My hats off to Garbage. I don’t actually own a hat, but if I did, I’d take it off.
WHAT A MELODY!!
No wonder they'll always be my fav band in the world.
Yay melodies!
I love your push it button!

My fave from the new album - reminds me of New Order
Totally addicted to this album and this is my favorite track from it! The New Order vibe is insanely beautiful and at the same it evokes previous Garbage's works. I just love it!!!
Breaking up the Girl vibes on the vocals... love it 💚
New Order met Ladytron at a NYC nightclub, got too high to record; so they hired Garbage to make this song for them! 😄
The Cure, Friday I'm in love / Indochine, Ladyboy / New Order, Dreams never end all in one with the beautifull and unique voice of Shirley.

It's incredible how this can sound so 1998, I absolutely love it.
Sounds like a great Version 2.0 B-side.

Lowkey my favorite of the new record thus far 😌
What more can i say....this is just beautiful Garbage. Wow 1998 here I come. Nostalgic and new, dark and delicious all at once
This reminds me a lot of their first album. One of my faves from the album.
This is a majestic song, and the lyrics move and intrigue me.
So unexpected and beautiful
I had no idea these guys were still around and making music. This kicks serious ass. Definitely reminds me of the Version 2.0 Era in a way.
Yeah!
This needs to be a single!!!!
please
I'm thinking Four - 12" singles with remixes from VCMG (Vincent Clark, Martin Gore), Sasha, Paul Okenfold, Carl Cox, Ladytron, Peggy Gou; and...
Just got this on record and the whole album is gorgeous! So SO happy you are still around and still rocking it 💜🤘
I love this song. It reminds me of Parade, with a splash of Big Bright World. 😊
Hell yeah.
My favorite 90$ band.
Doing it again
Im flying With this song. Im Back in 1998. Thank you
The politics on the album are important, but let's face it, this is the noise that keeps me awake. Best Garbage song (and album) since the 2000s.
My head explodes, and my body aches.
Love It!
Excellent love it!♥️
OMG, by far my favorite song from this new lp. Just the beat and lyrics are working dah POLE"?!!

Yes, mainly the chorus. Also a bit of Breaking Up The Girl, Right Between The Eyes and Run Baby Run.
YES. My thought exactly
putting the G in 'gesticulate'.
Japanese Whispers vibes in here.

My favourite song of the new album!!! Although is Shirley saying gesticulate with a hard 'G"??
that is how I say it.
Wowsers Batman, this song is fire!
