My biggest issue with Facebook groups is that any time I post about a team/player I want, I get sent cards with offers 3-5x over ebay comps. More often than not sellers are shooting for the moon without doing any research, trying to catch someone who doesn't know any better.
That's my biggest pet peeve on these groups
I try to call these people out and let them know what they are doing is wrong.
How do I make another account strictly for buying and selling my sports cards? I already have an account for my business. Can I make another one for cards only? Please help

How to protect yourself when buying and selling.
As a seller, I always videotape when I package the card and take a picture of the package at the post office.
As a buyer, I videotape when I open the package.
Same here. Can never be too safe.
Yes I take pic and send that to buyer. Builds rapport.

Ziggy! Glad to hear you are doing well. For years I been breaking smaller breaks with base heavy all cards ship preaching base has value. Have never had my boys join a break, well they help me break now when I'm live but we haven't join other breaks. Greak video guys.
Nothing against the Facebook communities, I agree with many of the positives here. However, it is only fair to say that in every Facebook group I've ever seen there is a clear expectation that your prices factor in a reduction for the fees you would pay on eBay. I think pitching this as a way to save on fees as a seller is a joke. As a buyer it's much more of an advantage, cheaper price, no taxes. As a seller you avoid the eBay "I bought this by accident" nonsense.
Mike P I think as a seller you just need to hold firm on your prices. If people don’t want to pay or try to negotiate too low, simply move on. What I typically do is that if I can’t get a price I am comfortable with for a card I’ll post it up on eBay. But I have definitely started going Facebook groups first, then ebay

Re: Breaks
I liken getting in on a break, and watching the card to card pulls, is like watching the live draft (NBA or NFL). Waiting for your team to come around and anticipating what player your team is going to draft (or pull).
To me it’s very exciting, except when there is too much commentary and hidden innuendo from the breakers between cards. That lag time is multiplied when it is a case break!
Overall, lots of fun to be in on.

I would really like too, but just don’t have an hour to hear his videos much less two to three a week. Seems when I get back too, it’s a month later.
Absolutely agree. Sports card collecting/investing is what I do at the end of my day. I do not have the time to listen to 30-40 minute videos. Give me the meat.
What I do is just scan the comments first and then decide to find that topic/section of the video. It’s not perfect of course.
How about the right way to sell to people who post buying post saying “not paying full comps” or “only high end”? What are the best ways to sell and be seen in a buying post with hundreds of comments on it?
Unfortunately FB is not an option for me since in my country sportcards collecting/investment is not popular, so I have to stick with Ebay

Great info i sell on ebay because i just dont have the time to message back and forth with people to sell cards very time consuming to do that.

Wow listening to you both really breaks down who you can trust and where. I have not joined Facebook community groups, have been hearing all about it now. Thanks for sharing this is really good information to all the newbies joining and starting to collect or starting over again from when i used to collect back in the 80s and 90s. @ziggy just subscribed to your RUclips channel..
If you're looking for a strong, vetted, breaking community you should look at Sports Card Investor Discord. They only allow breakers that have been thoroughly vetted and there are also multiple breaks per day/night.
nobody mentioned that you need to beware of new facebook accounts especially if that account has no activity and no friends, and if they have some friends on facebook, if all the friends are also new inactive new accounts, buyer beware... if they only sell, not buying, not trading, not interested in trading??? that is a big warning sign, facebook has people selling counterfeit cards, scammers run amok, selling resealed packs and boxes, i can go on all day with warnings, buyer beware!
I just joined
im apart a few all the big ones. the problem is people there try to much to low ball you. i had a 1 of 1 arron Rodgers shield auto. they offered $450, $550, $700 and $1,000. turned them all down. sold on ebay for $4,300. even with the fees i still got $3,800.
I am new to this thanks to my friend and watching everything you put out i was going to do it for the money but new its for the love of the cards thank . I have a lot of money cards and i am only going to sell one to by card cases and more cards

I see the term Staxx in FB groups. What does that mean?
DNT Sports/ Dustin Clay was my main breaker for a minute when he first started because he was so cheap. I had a falling out with him just weeks before the BRANDIN COOKS to 99 moment. Anyway- to this day i still tell people about how he sometimes pronounced Giannis Antetokounmpo- Johnny Akabatuka.

I find it curious you didn't mention PayPal's planned changes. There have been numerous spirited discussions about this on Facebook during the past week. PayPal will be, "...excluding items intended for resale...from reimbursement eligibility under our Purchase Protection Program." Given the potential impact this will have on Facebook transactions, you may want to educate your subscribers on the topic.
We filmed this video prior to PayPal announcing that change. That said, my opinion is it will be difficult for PayPal to determine whether a card purchase is really for resale, unless you have a business account and are clearly buying and reselling cards as a business. But, it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Hopefully that don’t take that protection away from most sports card purchases. That would definitely be a blow to buying through Facebook Groups.

This is good to know as the breaks I used to participate in have gotten slightly overpriced in my opinion.(and my wallets opinion. Lol).....I still watch him though because he (Eric Jabs/Jabs Family) does awesome and entertaining breaks but usually they're only baseball and I've started branching into some football lately.....

If a card on eBay sold for $1,000, you will only get $900 for that same card on FB because they will take into account the $100 that you save on eBay’s 10% fee.
Goods and services doesn’t cover sports cards anymore
That’s not definitive - the recent PayPal rule changes say their buyer protection will not cover items intended for resale. It would be difficult for them to determine if you are intending to resell a card. I think you’ll be ok unless you have a business account where it’s clear you are buying and reselling cards. But it will be interesting to keep an eye on this to see how PayPal handles these situations in the future.
